This was a great meal and cannot wait to go back again and again. Recommend this to everyone. Inside does need some updating and they are renovating and changing the name. Had the steak special that was out of this world great.

We were pleasantly surprised by our excellent meal on our first visit here. I had the Haddock Newburg which was the best i’ve had in years and it was a huge portion. My wife had the twin lobsters and my mother had the shrimp and mussels over fetucinni special which was really good. Not fancy digs in the old Trade Winds motel but worth the visit for really good Maine seafood. Decent prices, good service. We live in the area and know all the restaurants. We thought this might be a tourist trap but it’s not! And they’re open all year!

I don’t think I’ve had a bad meal in Maine till I came here. The other reviewers must have been smoking something. The fish tacos were fishless and crunchy, not good crunchy but stale crunchy. Ditto for the wrap, the stale wrap, which my daughter had. I’m beginning to wonder if I should trust Unilocal anymore. Don’t waste your money here; there are so many better restaurants in Rockland.

We were immediately greeted warmly by the staff and seated. We ordered quickly and our food came out in a very timely manner. The lobster was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the«Chowder Flight» in which you get to sample three of their signature chowders. We ordered fries as a side which were also delicious. Overall this was a great eating experience, and it was cheaper than some of the other local seafood places, but still up to the same quality standards.

We thought this was a good restaurant for a reasonable price. The service was great. We had a nice young waiter who was attentive without being intrusive. The Lobster roll looked huge but was a lot of roll, but still very fresh. We highly recommend it for a family dinner. They are VERY kid friendly. But, I was disappointed not to see the haddock tacos on the menu. They look delicious!

Originally had planned to eat @ Sky Cantina in Rockport but was closed on Sunday evening.(The sign says«Open 7 Days a Week»). We ended up @ The Chowder House located in the ‘Trade Winds’ in Rockland. I decided to try the Haddock/Shrimp Tacos & a draft. The tacos were very good, and of course Sam Adams draft is a great beer! Had the crème brûlée which was my first try @ this dessert. The tacos were $ 9& brulee $ 6…very good value. The other people w/me had haddock baskets & haddock sandwiches which I sampled & thought the ‘baskets’ were a little on the greasy side. The server, complete w/mascara & bandana was GREAT& entertaining. Looked like Johnny Depp(the pirate) but can remember his name! All in all a good experience & will go back

Our last meal, on our final day in Maine and one of our best. Great service and the Lobster roll was delicious. My favorite dessert is bread pudding and the blueberry bread pudding was awesome. Nice views.

Check out this new restaurant in Rockland! I rave about the haddock and shrimp tacos, beer battered in Maine’s own Allagash White, yum-the lobster stew is amazing too! The Chowder House two small bars, a good amount of indoor seating, and outdoor seating that should be up and running soon. Have some local beers on tap and enjoy the view! p. s. try the blueberry cheesecake!
