River Rocks broke my heart on Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend and I had repeatedly heard that River Rocks had an incredible Sunday brunch buffet, and brunch is my favorite meal. Thus, he planned to bring me here as a Valentine’s Day surprise. Naturally, we were beyond disappointed to find that they not only had discontinued their brunch buffet, but were not offering a brunch menu or brunch specials on Valentine’s Day! Evidently, they are in the process of creating a brunch menu but why discontinue the buffet if you aren’t prepared with at least some brunch specials for VALENTINE’S DAY?! I can’t even begin to fathom why a business would implement such a drastic change on a day in which people have, arguably, their highest expectations of the entire year. That epitomizes a poor business decision. The only somewhat redeeming factor of our experience today was our incredibly sweet waitress. She is the sole reason that I left two stars rather than one.

River Rocks has the best salads! Also love the lobster chowder. The seafood is always fresh and cooked perfectly. We were there for dinner last night and our server, Chris, was excellent — attentive and helpful, and just a nice guy. We always enjoy the local musicians plying easy-listening music that we know and some original songs. Awesome place!

Update: I emailed the restaurant after I left my first review and they responded, the owner was very apologetic. He offered to discuss my concerns in person and offered a complimentary appetizer or dessert. We will go back and give them another shot.

Very trendy, our waitress was prompt and friendly. There was nothing especially amazing about this restaurant other than location. The food was good, service was good, fair value(you pay a bit extra for the waterside dining experience).

Had an enjoyable lunch with a large group of ladies…15−20. Service was good and they were attentive. The fish tacos were delicious. The Crab cakes were a disappointment. More filler than Crab. Overall, we had a fun time and enjoyed the fabulous view of the river.

I always enjoy coming here. Well thought-out wine selection and full liquor bar. I like the prime rib in the formal dining. Excellent seafood both indoors and outside. Lobster sandwich is a special but I recommend it if it’s available. Sunday brunch is a treat too. This is one of the best places to watch the moon rise over the Indian River Lagoon.

Close but just not there. I had the grilled seafood platter and it was good. In fact that particular dish was closer to a 4 star but overall there were too many negatives with the cost and service to go higher. My reviews are based on dollar value. The restaurant is broken into inside and outdoor dining and we(family) dined in the outside area, so I can only comment to that part of the restaurant. The motif and look of the outside dining is nice but the experience is stuck between outdoor beach bar(live band playing while we were there) and high end seafood establishment. Unfortunately it doesn’t fulfill either experience. We will try again because there is promise but we will try some other options first before we go back.

The food is clean, the fish is always super tender and juicy. The view is unbeatable and the bar has a lot of great specials every night. Prices are moderate and staff is friendly and service is quick even on the busiest nights(i.e. Happy hour and Friday nights). I recommend the mahi on a salad or the fish tacos

As others have mentioned, the GPS(Google Navigation) took me to a nature reserve with a similar name. Once you find the place, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the great outdoor dining atmosphere. Service was wonderful. Nice options for cold draft beers. Lobster chowder was AWESOME! Food came out in a timely manner and drinks were consistently refilled. We saw a storm headed out way and I asked the waitress if we could move under cover — she was actually coming to us to have us move due to the impending storm. Nice touch! My only issue(as was noted by all of my dining companions) was the strange choice of music for the atmosphere. They played some really depressing and slow songs — we felt like they needed more upbeat, beachy, fun songs.(Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffett, maybe even some Sublime!)

The food here was great! Highly recommend the lobster bisque. The restaurant faces the water and it offers a great environment. Service was quick and attentive.

Absolutely horrible service! The food came out cold and not cooked to the right temperature. Would not recommend the quality has consistently gone downhill over the last two years. The musicians were also lousy and you couldn’t even make out the words

They have probably the best covered deck view on the Indian River. I stopped in for a beer during happy hour, and a traffic acoustic guitar by the name of Billy Chapman was playing an easy sounding set of tunes. They had a Baker’s Dozen of shrimp for $ 5 so I ordered two. Delicious and plenty! The bartenders were funny and personable.

Went there for lunch. Great location, looking out at the water. It was not super busy, but I went at 1130am. We were greeted quickly. Service was good. The food was excellent. Had the buffalo shrimp nachos appetizer and the fish special(Grouper) sandwich. I will definitely be back.

Great outdoor area, great service, and pretty good food. I ordered the fish of the day, grouper and asked for it blackened. It has pretty good flavor but it was not a very thick cut of meat. I had a side of sweet potato fries which were pretty yummy. Would I come back again? Yes. Would I order that again? No. Again, the location was fun, the service was great, but I would advise ordering something else.

Overall, service was friendly, seating was quick for a Monday lunch and the ambiance was great. I had the Caribbean Salad, which comes topped with very tasty grilled sliced chicken breast. The salad underneath, however, and dressing was slightly bland and forgettable. The drink was the biggest disappointment. We both ordered the Top Don Margarita at $ 11 apiece. It was advertised to arrive in a traditional glass, but showed up in a water glass. While the drink didn’t suffer from the choice in tequila(1942 Reserve Don Juilo Blanco) it did from lack of balance between the booze and the sweet and sour. It came off almost watered down with a twist of lime. Did I say these drinks were $ 11 apiece?

I stumbled upon rover rocks late at night & because it had so many cars in the parking lot, decided to give it a try. Although packed, we were seated almost immediately. Our server, Ramses, was honest, incredible and hard working. We ordered the crab stack(fresh!), lobster bisque(very creamy), mahi mahi(not very flavorful/dry), and key lime pie(a little dense, but good flavor), The food service was timed perfectly, and we didn’t have to wait too long for anything. The decoration of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful– and we are from Miami! If I were to visit again, I would dine at the dockside for a more casual atmosphere. The restaurant is divided into 2 different restaurants, each with separate menus. Choose wisely! If it weren’t for the service, it would get a 3, but Ramses earns a star of his own :)

If you love to go to a restaurant with a rude and inconsiderate staff, this is your place! I almost thought that I had chosen a theme restaurant where the staff purposely acts in an inappropriate manner, like Dicks Last Resort. So, when dining at this restaurant last night, I made a very common request: to forego my 2 side dish choices in exchange for the side salad. The bartender informed me that this was a common request that he was unable to fulfill. He began to tell me tales of this salad’s glory: it started with the crisp lettuce, the plump tomatoes, blah blah blah. Hey man, I don’t need your side salad to cure Ebola or bring down ISIS, just throw some lettuce on a plate and keep your 2 sides. So, after I gave the bartender a lecture in food costs and comparable value, he brought over the manager. Great, math and logic may sink in for someone who has worked his way up to management in the restaurant industry. However, in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. The manager was sweaty, of poor shape, and appeared like he was rehabilitating from a serious butter addiction. To my surprise; logic and math did not work with the manager either. The moral of the story is: 1) if it’s a common issue, address it with the policy maker and 2) do something, anything, knock off $.50 to at least appear to be on the side of the customer. A $ 3 salad is usually a matter of principal and not a matter of money. Don’t eat here.

Looking forward to going here for months while I was back home up North. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the sun and food was my dream. Suffice it to say, I was more than disappointed. While it was a sunny day, only one table on the deck had sun at 2pm. Since it was in the low 70’s I thought the shade would be ok bit was chilly. Wanted scallops, pricey, but had a taste for them — got them seared with rice and veggies on the side. My husband got a salad of fruit and nuts and fennel. His salad was tasty. My scallops were large but rather tasteless. The server brought mashed potatoes and when we told her I had ordered rice she brought a dish of it. Vegetables were tasteless and tasted cooked to death. What topped it off was the tabletops. They had mold all around the edges. Just disappointed in the whole meal. Probably will not be back.

This place is just okay. The food is mediocre and not seasoned well; the drinks are weird(just order a Manhattan… it’s served in a beer glass with a chunk of lemon and orange floating in the bottom); and the service is meh(I prefer a waitress with pep who shows some level of enthusiasm). River Rocks seems to pride itself on being«higher end,» but, honestly, there are plenty of good restaurants around… and they serve baked potatoes!

This place is WOW… just WOW. I didn’t know about this restaurant, and didn’t really look it up much on Unilocal, other than to see it had a relatively high rating. My mom was treating my grandma and I here. I ordered the Maytag Cheese appetizer with a glass of Erath Pinot Noir, and it was pretty amazing. Our server, Jason, had the knowledge of a sommeliar(he said his brother actually is one); I was also able to get a good Chardonnay with my Grouper, which was delish(and my first time eating grouper). The restaurant manager came to our table(and everyone else’s) to ensure the food met our satisfaction; this is one thing that wins me over at restaurants, even if there was the slightest mistake. I couldn’t find any mistakes at this establishment. I look forward to definitely coming here in the future. They also have free WiFi here.
