A business entity’s powers, rights and privileges can be suspended or forfeited in California by (1) the Secretary of State for failure to file the required Statement of Information; and/​or (2) the Franchise Tax Board for failure to file a tax return and/​or failure to pay taxes, penalties or interest.
When the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) or the Secretary of State (SOS) suspends an entity it cannot legally transact business, defend or initiate an action in court, protest assessments, or file a claim for refund of amounts paid, and it loses the right to use the entity name.

One of the worst experiences ever with a Dentist. And when I complained because they billed for what they hadn’t done, they were incredibly rude.
As it turns out, he’s quite famous amidst the local dentists that spend time finishing his work. Stay away.
