Yogurt Delite

Great place to beat the summer heat! With all the self serve places out there it’s great to see a local interdependent business that actually strives to provide customer service. In this self serve, ATM, self server, self check out world it’s nice to see a business that puts forth an effort to provide service to the consumer. Personally I prefer having an employee serve me food that I’m eating. If for no other reason then it’s just more sanitary. Yogurt Delite is as much a gathering spot as it is a restaurant. It has an atmosphere that is excellent for getting to know people in the community that you wouldn’t normally meet. I have met a wide variety of people who I wouldn’t normally have met. Jon the owner seems to know everyone in town, and isn’t shy about introductions. He is kind of a larger then life personality, who takes a genuine interest in his costumers and employees. While I’m the kind of person that usually gets the same thing, if it’s not broke don’t fix it, Yogurt Delite has a good selection of flavors, and a wide verity of other menu items to chose from. You can get anything from a plain cup to a smoothe.

I may be a little biased, but since my daughter Carina & I started frequenting here (15 years ago)~and along came Cameron~ we have all been true fans!
The yogurt always tastes superb. They PILE it as high as it can get… double-​layer the toppings… and the price is always reasonable. Not to mention, I TRY to order the sugar-​free yogurt as often as possible, and they always rotate the flavors! This is THE only yogurt shop in Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln OR Granite Bay that I’ve found to do this! It makes us moms (watching our figures) quite happy!!!

I wanted to try Yogurt Delite because of the hoards of people I usually saw eating outside the shop whenever I passed by while running errands. That was the first big mistake. Just because a place is popular or older than other similar shops, does not mean it’s good.
Once inside, I caught the distinct whiff of wet dog, even though there were no dogs in sight – a bad sign. Upon looking around, I saw a state of general dirt and stickiness pervading the room. There were dried marks all along the yogurt machines, which I assumed were old runny messes that had never been wiped clean. The toppings were in disarray, with white plastic spoons laying haphazardly in the little containers. The glass casing was muddled with greasy fingerprints, creating an oily sheen that reflected the shoe prints on the floor. (This was the only time I had ever given myself the mental note to not touch anything in an eatery.) We decided to stick it out and order something. Second big mistake.
I almost mistook the teenage girl behind the counter as a zombie, as she stood staring blankly out the window. My husband and I walked up to the display case and said hello and she languidly turned her head toward us, blinked, and managed a «hey.» Great customer service. He decided to order the Cappucino flavored yogurt with the cookie dough topping. Noticing that they sold boba (and moving here from LA, I’m used to well-​executed boba), I decided to order a milk tea with boba. Third big mistake.
She made our orders and we walked outside to taste the goods. Unfortunately, neither of them could be called that. The yogurt was bland – just flavorless and runny. The only redeeming factor was the cookie dough, but I’m chalking that up to the fact that you can’t go wrong/​mess up on cookie dough. Even worse, the milk tea tasted like water that had a pump of syrup in it and the boba was rock hard and somehow grainy (never experienced that before).
The other reviews completely misled me, and unfortunately, my experience here was not at all the pretty picture that others had painted. I hate to badmouth businesses, but this one barely warrants the name. All in all, it was a wholly unsatisfying experience and a complete waste of money. Whatever you do, STAY AWAY from this «establishment.» This may have been a one-​time horrible experience but it was bad enough that we will not make the biggest mistake of all – coming back here again.

TOTALLY OVERPRICED
A small yogurt with 3 teaspoons of toppings: $ 5.00. It’s ok but not worth that much. Won’t return.

I purchased the groupon for this place and it was very good. I expected it to be one of the self serve yogurt places where you put your own toppings on and then weigh it, but It was not like that. You pick your flavor of yogurt and then they charge you for each topping. The portion of yogurt and toppings i got was generous, but for the price i would much rather go to one of the places that you make your own. Good frozen yogurt spot, but not my first choice when im in the mood.

Just ate (or should I say gorged) on their yogurt. While I suspect the yogurt on most yogurt shops comes from essentially the same couple places, the product here tastes like it’s a little bit better quality.
Another bonus is that they keep a consistently clean shop. Unlike some of their competitors, you can walk through the line without worrying about slipping on somebody’s leftover spill.
Finally, they have a boss selection of toppings. The yogurt may be sugar free, but the mounds of gummi bears/​strawberries/​marciano cherries/​captain crunch/​almonds/​caramel/​frosted flakes/​sour patch kids spell sugar overdose!

I have been to almost all of the froyo joints in the area and Yogurt Delite is one of my favs. I used to love going to the one in Folsom when I was younger so, when I moved to Rocklin, I was excited to see another one close by.
Their yogurt is super creamy, unlike some other yogurt I’ve had that has kind of a grainy texture… weird. Even though it’s not self-​serve like some of the newer places that have been popping up around town they still have a great selection of toppings. I LOVE the german chocolate cake flavor; only available on Fridays but worth the wait.

Yogurt Delite is a Rocklin staple! I have been coming here since they opened way back in the day, and they never disappoint! Went in yesterday to use my groupon (finally!) and I got the dairy-​free (soy based) irish cream flavor. It was sooo good! I like my frozen yogurt reallllly frozen (like ice crystal-​ly frozen), so even though I really liked the taste of the tart peach, it was more melty so I went with the irish cream. It is not self-​serve, but I actually like that better. They still give you samples, and it’s less messy and chaotic.
They always have a tart flavor, and I think they always have a non-​dairy too. I avoid the sugar-​free flavors because I don’t like the fake sweeteners, but basically there is something for everybody! Don’t want to venture out without knowing the current flavors? Call them – they have the current flavors recorded so that you know in advance! If they have the tart lemon when you go in, TRY IT! Yum!!!

Went here on Saturday night & they had live music outside, a nice touch. Being a Pinkberry snob I just don’t have the taste for yogurt that isn’t tart, but sometimes a break is good & besides, my sister was treating me with a Groupon so I was down to go. They had a few appealing flavors listed, I sampled cake batter & hawaiian delite. The cake batter was dead on cake batter flavor but I decided that flavor would get too sweet really quick so I picked the hawaiian delite, which the girl described as strawberry & coconut.
They have a good selection of toppings, including cookie dough, & peanut butter cookie dough (notable since Pinkberry has no cookie dough), various types of candy, mochi, etc. They selection of fresh fruit was pretty bad, I only saw blueberries & I think some sad looking strawberries. I opted for no toppings & took my hawaiian delite plain.
The serving size (medium) was huge! I would have ordered a small if I had known. I’ve been going to Pinkberry too long, their portions are way smaller. The yogurt was good, I definitely tasted strawberry & coconut, & I think I detected some banana also, which I’m not a huge fan of but it was faint so whatever. The texture was good & I was surprised at how long it stayed frozen. A full half of the serving made it all the way home back to Sacramento! I personally don’t think places should use styrofoam cups, as they do here, but man do they work to keep things cold! If only we could develop an environmentally friendly styrofoam to keep our cold foods cold… but I digress.
Anyway, the yogurt is good, the toppings look pretty good, my yogurt was huge, and the guys with the guitars outside were pretty good. It was clean inside & the employees were adequately friendly without that over zealous annoying friendly you get at other places sometimes lol! If you are a fan of tart yogurt or fresh cut fruit then this place is going to disappoint. But if you like sweet yogurt & candy toppings then come here & have it piled high!

I have been treating myself to frozen yogurt here for more years than I can remember. The shop is well run and the staff is always friendly, courteous, and outgoing. It’s refreshing to be served by somebody that actually likes what they are doiong. The yogurt is great and the flavors are constantly changing. The price can’t be beat either. Hands down the best yogurt shop in the area.
I personally like the fact that the yogurt is served by clean employees and that the toppings are out of reach of the public. I tried the serve your self places and to my dismay watched kids (and adults!) tasting the flavors with their fingers. Not to mention how many times does a topping scoop have to fall on the ground before it’s actually washed? I’m sure that every kid washes his hands before they touch everything I am about to eat, right? YUCK!!!

Good flavors. I generally don’t do toppings, but the kids love them. The owner is great. I prefer cones, and I like the fact they will generally do two side by side flavors on a cone, even if they are not setup as a swirl.

Decent frozen yogurt but the place is so dirty that I just don’t like eating here anymore. Maybe if they took everything out, pressure hosed the whole thing and then started over. Maybe…

I have been coming here for what, 15 years now? Crazy. I love that it’s stayed the same all these years. I used to have friends from HS work here!
Every time I go, there is always at least one great chocolate flavor. Just recently, I have started to get a mix of another flavor with the chocolate. I love that they have traditional toppings. I go with the mini m/​ms or peanut butter cup.
They also offer slushies!!! Talk about being brought back to your childhood. MMMmmMMMmmMMM.
I also adore that in the Summer, they put out doggie bowls filled with water :)

The hands down BEST Fro-​Yo in the area. The workers are very warm and inviting and very helpful! The selection is the best of the best, especially the cake batter! John the owner is very nice and treats us like family! Friday nights are the best, live music from local talent and Twinkle the clown making balloon animals for the little ones! Best family environment on a Friday night!!!

Great flavors and toppings. It’s like every other do-​it-​yourself frozen yogurt place, but they have twice as many yogurt flavors. Love this place.

Good prices, you get more for the money than the help yourself locations. We like to order big and then have it for two nights.

I will admit that I am very partial towards do it yourself froyo joints. I first came to Yogurt Delite thinking it was one of those places, but as soon as I walked in, this was not the case. At the same time, it’s not like I don’t enjoy a good bowl of frozen yogurt so I decided to give them a chance.
When driving up to the place, there was a sign outside saying ‘OMG Cake Batter Flavor Today!’. Anything exclaimed with an OMG has to be good, right? To my surprise, I discovered other flavors that I thought would be equally OMG-​y like snickers. However, after tasting a couple of flavors, I soon came to the realization that this place didn’t even have good frozen yogurt! So not only was it not the self-​serve froyo joints that I adore so much, but the flavors were just mediocre. I am the type of person to do a little bit of froyo and a lot of toppings, but since I couldn’t do it myself here I was served with an abundance of froyo and little toppings (that you have to pay extra for). If quantity is important to you, then you will like this place because they really pile it on. But for me, I don’t want a lot of something that’s just aaaaiiight. I ended up eating the toppings and throwing the rest away. I felt like I had an injust done to me and froyo so I had to correct my mistake and head on over to Top which more than fixed the wrong that was done to my taste buds and stomach.

I have been going to Yogurt Delite since back in the day… that they opened in fact. I love it but their prices are crazy when they aren’t maximizing the cup. If I get a server that piles it high I am more than willing to pay $ 3.99 for the medium, but when it is a wimpy serving I say fugetaboutit!

Yog. D is amazing!!! I think Big Spoon is a lot of fun, but at the end of the day if you aren’t careful you are gonna wind up paying a LOOTTT for your fro yo. Plus, Yogurt Delite is basically an institution in Rocklin. It has been there forever, and has much more nostalgia than you could get at just any yogurt place.

Sure self-​serve fro-​yo places are all the rage now, but every now and then you want someone to serve you! They were the original fro-​yo shop in Rocklin but caught stiff competition when Big Spoon opened down the street. However I continue to go back to Yogurt Delite because of their variety of flavors.
They offer non-​dairy soy based flavors, frozen custard, low fat, fat free, and sugar free flavors. Their style is more creamy and rich rather than the tart flavors.
I only go if I have a 2 for 1 coupon that gets sent to my house all the time since I live in the area. Otherwise, it can be a tad expensive once you load on the toppings since they are already priced out.
