Had dinner here and the best thing I was probably the chips and salsa. I had a combo plate of burrito, enchilada and chile relleno. All 3 items used the same ground beef and the chile relleno was just ground beef with a chopped up pepper mixed in(chile relleno is supposed to be a stuffed pepper).

After reading some of the reviews, it feels like I went to a different restaurant. Everyone here was exceedingly friendly and efficient. A few of them didn’t speak the best English, so I was pleasantly surprised when they brought out the correct drink and food orders. The food was better than average. I’ve gotten the steak fajitas and the beef and cheese nachos. The salsa, chips and drinks were refilled before we ever noticed. We left feeling full and content. For a Mexican place in the middle of no where, it was pretty darn good

A giant free standing mexican restaurant in a tiny community like Rockmart. Tell me, you think it’s gonna be any good? After being burned by bad mexican food again and again in Atlanta my gut said«nope, probably not.» But when I started asking around to the locals, I got a generally positive response, so I gave it a try, and I’m glad I did! El Nopal is a very big restaurant right across 278 from the Walmart in Rockmart. Ya really can’t miss it. They have high ceilings and a «Festive atmosphere» which is pretty standard issue for americanized mexican restaurants. I probably have another review on here for some mexican food places in Augusta GA. And I’ve complained for years about how hard it is to find that kinda food up here. Well. This is it! el Nopal is delicious. The beans, the ground beef, the cheese dip, I even convinced my non mexican food eating dad to eat here. He got the fried chicken and fries and said it was good! So I think its more than met my qualifications. I don’t know what else to say. If you’re in Rockmart, or near it, like say Dallas or Hiram, forget Huey Louis and come out west. You’ll be glad you did!

I have been going to this particular El Nopal for a long time. A relative lives close and we routinely meet here(even though I live in Atlanta). We are regulars now and they always seat us in the same spot and they already know what drinks we want and what appetizers we love. We almost always start with the Guacamole Mexicano and El Nopal dip — both are delicious. I have gotten the Carnitas Dinner the last few times and it is a new favorite of mine. The pork is tender and flavorful. Jose(manager) is very attentive. Service is always fantastic. Food is always excellent.

We were seated quickly and our waiter(unfortunately I didn’t get his name) treated me like I was a princess or he felt Sorry for me because I had an exhausted 6 year old and 2 year old that was wide open. We ordered and our food came out right on time. Very good. Will go back next time I’m in Rockmart.

Great place to gather! Staff is fantastic, service great. The margaritas are the best around! Food is standard Mexican fare but good quality and price.

I think the food is great and the texas margaritas are even better. You can never go wrong splitting a picture as their margaritas are not watered down. I always ask for Jose but there are several good servers. One of the best little places to eat in polk county.

One of the few places that the service was better than the food. Taco meat was white and bland…

El Nopal is tha Boobs! The staff is friendly and welcoming. They really take care of you. We’ve gone here for years since they first opened in Rockmart. And they always make my mother who has Parkinson’s feel special and welcome. The Food is great and always good. I’ve never had a bad experience at El Nopal. All these people giving bad reviews are nuts. They probably brought any bad experiences on themselves.

El Nopal should be called«El no va»(The No Go). Two friends and I stopped by this place for a quick bite. One ordered soup, the other chicken and I ordered the fish tacos. It took over 1hr 40min for us to get our food… meanwhile people who had come in and ordered after we got there, were preparing to leave. Management told me that grilled items take a little bit longer and that was the hold up. I politely passed back my luke warm plate of stinking fish tacos that smelled like dirty p****, and told him it takes fish about 15 minutes IFTHAT, and moreover, my plate was lukewarm. He apologized profusely and asked if he could get me anything else«on the house», I said perhaps another Margarita to forget about the«FEARFACTORFOOD» they’d just tried to feed me… I WASCHARGEDFORTHATFREEMARGARITABTW. The menu is something straight off of Kitchen Nightmares, and the unsolicited comments from the obviously racist homophobe redneck in the booth adjacent to ours, went unaddressed by the management. All of this combined with the fact that the manager wanted me to believe that fish takes longer to cook than a chicken breast, left me feeling insulted and disgusted. My friends and I dine out a lot, and we spend $$$ and we tip VERYWELL… were not the diners from hell, but when POOR service is POOR service you have to speak up and let that be known, so here we are. If you’re thinking about going to this place… DONTDOIT! Go somewhere else instead. somewhere where the management cares about your dining experience and won’t lie to your face about cooking times or comping menu items.

It was my first time to this restaurant and was appalled by the service my friends and I received. I couldn’t understand the server who was speaking Spanish(Spanish is my first language too…). We waited over an hour to get our food. I became vehemently irate when I saw two groups people that were seated 15 minutes after we were seated, were already finishing their dinner! When I shared my concern to our server in Spanish, she stated that she realized it, was sorry, and that it was not her fault but the cooks in the back. She then brought our food which was lukewarm. I shared my concern again and she quickly referred me to a manager named«Jose». He also apologized and informed us the meal would be taken care of, and we would be given coupons. Before we left, I was then handed the bill by the server. I informed her and two other managers of what Jose said and I was met with indifference and stated that we were given a 10% discount for our troubles. In my attempt to diffuse this awful situation, I went ahead and paid the bill and decided to seek the owner of this restaurant. We walked out disgusted and still… with no coupons. I discovered on their website the contact info and called their«main store» in Cartersville. I spoke with a «Luis», another manager, asking him who the CEO was. He informed me a man named Ron” and refused to give me his last name. He also informed me that in order for me to file a complaint and speak with the owner I would have to come into his store in Cartersville and give my information and contact. I politely gave him my information and ask that the owner call me back asap. He did and stated he is not sure that«Ron» will contact me. If this is how they operate their business, with a total avoidance to rectify & satisfy unhappy consumers, then I want no part of it. I will NEVER recommend this place, or any other El Nopal Mexican Restaurant. I have other friends who« Unilocal» about their experience. Check them out,
