Went here on a Sunday afternoon with a gift certificate. Was surprised to find it at the end of a new strip center instead of downtown but was very happy with the food and service. Husband had a ribeye steak that was fabulous and we usually never order steaks in restaurants after years of disappointing results. I had pork chops and they were superb! Green beans were nice and fresh/crunchy but not too crunchy. Crab cake appetizer was wonderful. Great service. Even the owner comes around to check on the customers. I think we will be back. Wish they had a wine list but maybe this is a local ordinance. We drove out from Cobb county to take in fall foliage and to check out the restaurant.

Delicious! And great service! My family and I love going to slate market we know what we can expect out of the food and most of the time out of the service. Only place in Rockmart where I like the chicken tenders.

Love Jojo potatoes. They are one of the only places around Rockmart that knows how to cook a rare stake. Salads are good with really good dressing made there. Best restaurant in polk county

Took great care of a table of 9, with multiple dietary issues and lots of mature folks around the table with not a problem. Never batted an eye when I brought in cupcakes to celebrate a birthday(I asked first!). Wait staff was competent and attentive all evening. Food was good, though not what I’d call inspired– basics, but done competently. We’ll go back every time with this crew!

I was pleased with the Slate Market Grill, with it being the first restaurant in Rockmart I’ve ever been to. I had the crab cakes which were good, and we ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The crab cakes were pretty large and I really enjoyed them. The fried green tomatoes weren’t over fried, and they were pretty good as well. They came with two sides, I got coleslaw and french fries. The coleslaw was pretty good, but then again some people may not agree because it wasn’t very sweet. The french fries were well seasoned and not too crunchy or soft. The other two people I was with ordered a cheese burger and shrimp n cheese grits. Both looked and smelt really good! The waiter was very friendly and came by often. The rolls they brought out were pretty good, and they bring plenty out. We got there a little before 8:30PM so they were starting to clean up. Like many things in Rockmart, they don’t stay open very late. Over all it wasn’t fine dinning or anything too special, but for the food and service, it’s worth the trip.

This is my favorite restaurant. I have liked every menu item that I have tried, and I have attempted to try every different item possible so far. The saddest food tragedy that has occurred to me in the past decade is Slate Market opening for dinner only on Saturday. I live a good distance away, but my near-weekly pilgrimage to Slate Market for lunch on Saturday for the chicken philly cheese will be sorely missed. I could make an entire meal out of the rolls and delicious sweet tea.

The Slate Market Grill is a great steak house. We were surprised with the market’s speed, quality, and price. The crab cake appetizer was lightly seasoned and pan seared crispy with interior of bread, egg, crab, onion, and green peppers on a bed of lettuce with a tart remoulade sauce. My wife said it was the best crab cakes she had ever eaten. We also enjoyed the mahi-mahi, filet mignon, honey buttered rolls and non alcoholic drinks all for 36.00. All things considered both Chasity and I gave The Slate Market Grill a five star rating.
