RAYR – The Wine Shop

RAYR Wine Shop is a rare find (I know that was a hokey joke, but I couldn’t resist… plus, it is SO true!). My husband and I arrived in Camden to spend 3 months, and Rayr Wines was our first stop, and what a treasure we found. Not only is this store stocked with amazingly delicious wines of all price points, but Jason is incredibly knowledgeable and makes picking them fun and easy. Need a special wine to give to a friend? He’s got the perfect idea. Need an inexpensive but delicious wine to go with an unusual dish? No worries, Jason is on it!
Like the previous reviewer mentioned, Jason pulled out a town map when he heard that this was our first time in the area and he recommended great places to explore and fabulous places to eat.
Every time I go to RAYR, I feel like I’m visiting a friend, and judging by all the people I’ve witnessed shopping in the store, I think everyone feels that way. Go once and you’ll be hooked by the wine, by wonderful Jason and by the fun environment he’s created.

My friends and I were staying in Rockport for the weekend, and we were lucky enough to come across RAYR just down the street! This shop is a total gem. It’s small and locally owned, but with a carefully curated selection of excellent, reasonably-​priced wines. It was immediately clear that Jason really knows his stuff and is much more concerned about recommending great wine to his customers than about maximizing profits. He was also thoughtful enough to give us a town map and an extensive list of suggestions for things to do in the area. Thanks, Jason, for being a great part of a fun weekend!
