I saw a review saying this place is closed, but I am happy to say that’s not entirely true. I’m not sure how it was before, but my family and I are staying here now and it’s great. My daughter and I rented a cottage while another family member just got a room and we are both very happy with what we got. There’s no breakfast or other traditional inn or B&B type things, but there’s AC, cable tv, free wifi, etc. The beds are very comfortable, and I was happy to find coffee, cream, sugar, and a few choices of tea in the kitchen along with an assortment of pots and pans, dishes, and our own vaccum. I suppose if you’re looking for a traditional hotel or inn experience where breakfast is served and a maid comes every morning and such then this may not be the place for you. However, if you don’t mind fending for yourself a bit then this place will not disappoint you. And when I say«fend for yourself» I just mean the basics. They will get your trash and towels and linens and bring you back clean ones. And if you don’t want to use the kitchen in the cottages, or if you simply got a room then there are plenty of restaurants nearby to visit or order delivery from. If you are staying in Rockport for longer than a week, I would absolutely recommend checking this place out.

**This inn is now closed. Huge sad face. It got sold to be a private residence this winter.

This place is great. It is right across the street from the ocean. The lot across the street is a small park with benches overlooking the rocky beach. The neighborhood is peaceful and pretty. The hostess was REALLY nice. Our trip was full of mishaps but the hotel was great. 1. Our train was really late, so I had to ask her to wait a few extra minutes at her desk that night. She appreciated that I called her to let her know and it wasn’t a problem. 2. My bike broke, so she found some tools in the basement for us to use. 3. The free breakfast was simple but healthy, high quality, and delicious. 4. The grounds are beautiful, and so are the common living rooms at the main house and breakfast area. Our room was nothing special. An old window AC unit, a small bathroom, and a low ceiling – but it was impeccably maintained and we did get their last available room(#204) and maybe they rent out the nicer ones first. In my opinion, the grounds and beautiful living rooms at the main house more than made up for it – I wasn’t going on vacation to hang out in my hotel room.

My husband and I stayed at the Seaward Inn recently for a weekend. We arrived on Friday night in perfect time for an amazing sunset over the ocean. We sat on the benches by the water and relaxation kicked in immediately(after a long drive with lots of traffic). It’s a great location. We stayed in a Carriage Shed room, which is pretty casual, and perfect for us. It has a small but well-kept bathroom, a closet, a king bed, two comfy chairs, a drop-down desk. The door has a screen door, so you don’t have to feel all locked in and you can keep the door open. The continental breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed the yogurt, granola, eggs, mini bagels, fresh fruit, and amazing scones. It was nice to eat while looking at the water outside as well as the flowers by the stonewall. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I asked for tea water and two people brought some to me! This place also has easy access to a wonderful seaside path that leads down to Rockport center. The path is a great place to watch the sun set. Thanks for a pleasant place to stay. We’ll be back.

I attended a brunch at the Seaward recently and was disappointed. The brunch was limited to a few very small dishes and options of do it yourself toast, an extremely overworked chef at a limited omelet station, and spotty service. I was disappointed in the breakfast, but the Inn itself looked very cute and charming.

We had a really great stay here. We came to Rockport at the beginning of the season(may) and were very warmly greeted by Nancy, whos parents had established the inn and managed it for many years. 1. The view of the ocean is amazing! 2. Great breakfast included in the room price. 3. You can take a bike, not added money. 4. Room was fine, very homey! We totally recommend this inn, its in a beautiful location and service was wonderful. My dad, who travels allot and came from over seas, loved it!
