There are at least four spots on the neck to get ice cream so it is a very competitive business, but The Ice Cream Store takes the top spot. Full disclosure, they don’t have soft serve, but most places around here don’t. It’s a tiny, no frills spot so don’t expect to be at Dairy Queen, but the product is excellent and the girls working are super nice. Go here once or every night of your trip here.

Such a cute little spot right in downtown Rockport on the water. They have a ton of flavors both unique and usual and a few spots to sit inside if it’s a rainy day. Definitely my go to spot in Rockport for ice cream

Frozen yogurt(espresso flavor) was bad. Ice cream(don’t recall flavor) was pretty average. I am not one to leave any leftovers, but both the froyo and ice-cream were trashed early. Cute store and friendly staff, but the product is just not that good.

Really disappointing. I thought, based on such high Unilocal reviews, this place would be something special. Instead it was a tiny shop with ice cream no better than the mid-priced gallons you’d buy at the grocery store. They did give samples, but didn’t even have all of the flavors they were advertising. I got the salted caramel pretzel, which did have mini pretzels in it(which was awesome), but I was expected salted caramel ice cream — not the vanilla ice cream with streaks of caramel and pretzel that I got. It wasn’t bad, but like I said, absolutely nothing special. Given the adorable local feel of this area, I would love to see some local, homeade ice cream.

Just superb service and product here. Should be no surprise. Exceptional flavors and just wonderful personalities with the workers.

4.5 Excellent find, thanks to Unilocalers! Out of all the choices in this little town, we ended up here. Glad we did. This was the best rum raisin ice cream I have ever had. I used to hate this flavor but for some strange reason I love it now. Have tried many the past year and this was the one with the most perfectly balanced flavors of rum, sugar, cream and the plumpest raisins. Texture seemed nice and creamy too but then again it was a killer 95 degree day, so couldn’t tell too well with the fast melting. Would definitely return if ever in Rockport again.

If you’re in Cape Ann, you must go to the Ice Cream store and take a stroll down Bearskin Neck. Lots of little shops and stores. One place that you MUST go to on a HOT day is the Ice Cream store. I loved their Root Beer float and their Ice Cream Sundae.

My friends liked this place very much. Maybe I’m in a mode for frozen yogurt(my last 3 desserts have been frozen yogurt), that the switch to a trial of ice cream was kind of too heavy for my liking(like the 2% to skim milk switch). Of the flavours tried: low tide, peppermint, black raspberry, cookies and cream, my favourite was probably black raspberry.

Free Ice-Cream!!! That’s right! Was browsing around the neighborhood when me and my friends happen to stumble upon this little ice-cream shop. There was a huge sign up front saying«All Ice-Cream Free». I thought«yeah whatever, there’s gotta be a catch», thinking that I might have to pay for the cone or the only free ice cream would be some strange flavor. But, lo and behold, everything was free because they were closing down for the season. Now I’m thinking«ok, she’ll probably hand me a tiny little spoon». Nope, I was so wrong. She made me a huge sundae with 3 scoops of ice-cream, nuts and cherries. It was free and it was awesome!

This is the quintessential summer snack spot. Located in a tiny shack on the water, the Ice Cream Store is the perfect spot to rest on a hot summer day. I usually get the frozen yogurt, most recently I had mint chocolate chip & chocolate almond. The ice cream itself is average, but the location definitely bumps it up to 4 stars.
