What more to say that: get over here and stay! Great place for entering the north cascades. Close to the entrance of the park, far enough away from the main road to have a quiet and pleasant evening under the«garden house». Great rooms, wifi available. If you are tall, the shower is a challenging one. Great host! She knows a lot about the surroundings, and gave us great tips about the park, dining and things to do here. We stayed for 2 nights, while exploring the north cascades.

It may not look like much from outside but I found it very charming! Not to mention very affordable for the close location to the park. The room was extremely clean and inviting and even came with free wi-fi which really comes in handy as cell service is spotty this far out. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. There was a shared refrigerator and microwave right outside the room. The owners are very nice and accommodating. They took the time to tell me about all the sights and dining in the area. I found them very welcoming. It’s not the Ritz, but is that really what you want when you visit the wilderness? I’ll be staying here every time I visit the park!

5 stars for affordability, cleanliness, comfort and service. Yes, it’s an older place. The room kind of smelled musty, but you’re out in the woods, so no biggie. No AC(guessing that’s average for this area), no closet in my room(not sure if others do) but some good sized over-the-door hangers which was way more than enough for my 2 night stay, no tub just a shower(works for me, just a heads up for anyone who wants a bath). My room was plenty big for 3 people(1 double and 1 twin), very new TV w/cable/satellite, plenty of storage space to unload luggage. Coffee, tea, SUPER nice comfy pillows and soft sheets; bed was comfortable; fan in the room was great since it was so dang hot, and I slept with my door open and the fan going most of the night. Sonya was lovely. She came to my door and gave an in-person phone message for me(ATT = no cell service) and even called the office I was working at to let me know the room I was in was available an additional night if I needed it(it previously was not).

My brother and I stayed here for three nights in early September while hiking in North Cascades National Park. The motel is old, but very clean. The water was hot, and the beds comfortable. It was quiet and very peaceful. We slept well. The owners, Bob and Sonya, were helpful and non obtrusive. The only nitpick I could find was that the Wi-Fi was intermittent. Clean rooms, hot water and good beds– I don’t need anything else when I am hiking.

Given the good reviews and positive phone experience in making my reservation, I really looked forward to my stay at Totem Trail Motel. The drive in was beautiful and added to the anticipation. My arrival was met with pleasant reception and a quaint room with plenty of character(picture shag carpet, framed poster of an eagle and lace doilies, to name a few special details) and modern utilities such as wireless internet and a microwave. Do not expect to have cell reception here, the internet is your most reliable portal to that city life you left behind. There is a shared fridge in which I placed a six pack of craft beer without any concern that someone would help themselves; in fact, I felt very safe in general and probably didn’t even lock my door while in my room. No horrific scenes of suspense or gore, or theft ensued. But the room wasn’t the super cleanest and the bed was not comfortable. Still, Totem Trail is close to perfect for a stay that is not camping in this area.

Inexpensive cute little motel. It’s nothing fancy but it’s clean, has all your basic needs and some nice little touches that let’s you know this isn’t a chain. Think 60’s style roadside motel but updated.

Great little motel with comfy beds, a kind non-intrusive owner, and the little touches of a locally owned business. We sat outside and visited with other guests through the evening and then retired to a peaceful night’s sleep. This is a perfect place to get an affordable, clean room while you’re exploring the beautiful North Cascades. I highly recommend this business!

After a very bad encounter at another«Inn» my husband and I were stuck without a hotel for the night. We had stayed at the Totem Trail Motel a few years back and decided to see if they had a room. I walked in to the office and was greeted by a very friendly, smiling woman who told me they not only had one room but they had two we could pick from. She was delightful and knew what customer service is all about. After we settled in our room she knocked on our door to let us know she was laundering the comforter and would have it to us in a little while. Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable and just what we needed after a long day driving up from the Portland area. The next time we drive up to visit the Northern Cascades we will make our reservations at the Totem Trail Motel and forget about the«Inn.»

Comfortable beds in a rustic locale for a decent rate. Owner knows the area and offers good advice, if you ask. No AC, but that’s common here. If you know why you came to Marblemount, you’ll like it.

I expected an adventure. Why? Because I always do. In that, this secluded hotel in the deep dark woods failed. No ghosts of lost pioneers. No homicidal maniacs on the lam. No Sasquatch lurking. Not even some odd locals. However, it was clean, safe, and very reasonably priced. The owner-operator was friendly but not intrusive. If you’re driving the scenic 20 — at least before they close the road for winter — this is a great place to spend the night. Just don’t walk too far into the woods.
