Best place by far for ice cream! It’s home made! My favorite is Blue Moon. They are busy mostly on really nice days but the line goes fast. The staff is friendly and always helpful! Plenty of place outside to sit and enjoy your ice cream

What a cute charming place in heart of rock ton with amazingly insane Icecream that doesn’t break your bank. This Icecream is just as good as the Icecream you get up at UW Babcock hall… Rich, flavorful, creamy with great depth of flavor. Nice outdoor seating and no where to sit inside shop. To do the Icecream service… Just get the sundae and you will be glad you did. Totally worth trek from Rockford or surrounding areas…

This is by far the best ice cream in the Stateline area. The ice cream is fresh and the flavors are all so unique. All the ice cream is made in house and the flavors are constantly changing. They have a young staff that is all energetic and willing to give you as many samples as it takes to make a decision. The shop is small, but most people sit out front or under the trees to the right. This place is really an adorable shop that fits right in with the Rockton main street. Also as everyone else has said, 1 scoop is HUGE!!! especially when you get it in a cone, they just keep piling on more until it is almost falling out of the cone.

Missing the best icecream in the world all the way in AZ! Although it’s too cold to have right now in IL, it’s perfect for us here! Gotta love 90 degree weather in March without humidity.

A true treasure. First their ice cream is top notch. It’s all homemade in-house using fresh ingredients. You can tell the care that is given to making the ice cream. They have a huge list of flavors that change everyday. Want to try them just ask they are more than willing to give you a sample of anything in the case. What makes this little shop great is the owners and employees. I am all for local business especially when a local business is far better than any chain! This is a true locally owned family business. I just wish they were open all year long! Thanks Brent for doing such a great job!

One of my favorite summer activities. Quaint, super friendly, best butter pecan icecream anywhere. Love it! Retired to Prescott AZ. miss it, miss it, miss it! Icecream out here… not even close. Still hoping Brent will open a shop out here since mom and dad are here. :) Tired of eating grocery icecream. Help!

Soft serve is good here. I haven’t personally eaten the hard ice cream yet but s/o says it’s good, including the sundaes with bakes goods.

The cutest little ice cream spot I’ve ever been to! So totally was just visiting my fam in Roscoe and being the foodie that I am, I was up to trying new places in the little town of Roscoe/Rockton. But Dairyhaus is definitely an adorable little place. Ice cream was ok, nothing too special, but not bad either. I’ve had plenty of different ice creams spots in LA, but I think Dairhaus was definitely the most adorable. It had that old school feeling. I think the 4 stars is more so for the vibe and décor if anything.

Mediocre at best. Way overpriced. Hit McDonald’s or Coldstone for a better tasting experience wit If you do visit this spot, then make sure you stay away from their soft serve because it’s not that good and also expensive. Don’t deviate from items made with homemade ice cream. If you really like chocolate(and I mean really like it), then try the chocolate suicide. The sundae with the cookie in it(maybe cookie monster) is not very good. Anyway, save your money and get better service and ice cream elsewhere.

MOST delicious root beer float made with homemade vanilla ice cream and Sprecher’s bottled root beer. If you love root beer floats you must come try this one! Really expensive, though, so its just a once-in-a-while treat for me.

Well here’s my take. I’ve lived near Rockton for 3 years now, the first year the Dairyhaus’ ice cream was superb, last year it was subpar, and this year they have returned to the best ice cream I have ever had. I’ll account the bad year to inclimate weather affecting the cows’ moods, thus producing poor quality milk. Recently picked up a couple quarts of Mint Brownie and Peter Rabbit(carrot cake flavored). I’m not a huge fan of carrot cake, but holy hell do I like carrot cake flavored ice cream. I’m also a huge fan of their Mocha Mud(coffee flavored ice cream with gooey fudge bits). The flavors rotate, so you never know whatwill be available. They also close annually from around mid September to Memorial Day, which kinda blows when you get a jonesin’ for ice cream when there’s a foot of snow on the ground. As most others have stated, it’s kinda pricey, but worth it imo. Also, it’s cheaper to buy quarts and take ‘em home, rather than getting a cone fyi. If you’d rather have nonferromagnesian silicates in your ice cream, by all means, there is a McDonalds just down the road. If you want great real, albeit unhealthy, ice cream, this is the place. Tl;dr It’s freaking awesome!

Customer service: 5 star Atmosphere: 5 star(you can smell«carnival» while walking up to the shop, and the eating area outside allows you to take in small town living) Ice Cream: 2 stars(nothing special, would expect this quality of ice cream for half the price, better ice cream in my local supermarket frozen section)

No thanks I’ll pass. The Ice cream is nothing I haven’t seen before, the owner gave me terrible customer service on more than one occasion, and does not provide a friendly environment. The prices are a joke, I mean who would spend so much for a less than meager portion of ice cream. Overall this place is merely the result of a lack of competition in the area. Do yourself a favor and get McDonalds soft serve, more cream for your buck!

I came back here Easter Sunday. Yes, they were open. Till 9PM! (this was the first time they decided to be open all day, but they might not do it again) This time they had Wedding Cake ice cream. Get. It. If you were the type of kid who used to lick the beaters when your mom made cake., or if you’re the kind of adult who licks the beaters when you bake… you’ll thank me. :)

Dear Dairyhaus, You used to be so good with your delicious flavors, and you became so popular that all the people in Rockton talked to all the neighboring towns about you. Now you charge people over $ 7 for two scoops of ice cream? How can the average family afford to go here now when it costs over $ 30 for four people? I’m sorry Dairyhaus, but neither me nor my family can afford to spend that much on desert that is slightly above average. If you do go make sure to get the waffle cones, they’re made fresh every day.

Stop by the Dairy Haus on a fine summer day and you may find owner Annie Murray behind the counter, chatting with customers and serving one of her custom blended ice cream creations. Today’s was I Do, lemon ice cream with a ripple of raspberry, created in honor of her daughter’s upcoming nuptials. I treated myself to the Blue Moon, a midwestern classic, though I was tempted by the French Silk. My friend opted for the Blueberry Cheesecake, and I got a quart to go. Why is their ice cream so good? Well, you can attribute it to the fact that the Dairy Haus is a limited time, summer treat, opening in April and closing in mid-September. You could also say that the fact that it’s handmade has something to do with it. Or it may have to do with the high-quality ingredients. The«hard» ice-cream is 14% butterfat, while the soft serve is 4%. The more, the better, I say! Ice cream is not for the faint of heart! The usual suspects are available at the DH, including non-fat and sugar-free yogurts(but who wants that?), homemade waffle cones, sundaes, shakes, and made-to-order cakes. Space inside is tight with one table, but outdoor seating is best for eating, so grab a bench or table outside. The Dairy Haus is open from 4PM to 9PM on weekdays and noon to 9PM on weekends, but stays open until 10PM when school is out. Expect a line most of the time as summer is fleeting and everyone wants a taste before it slips away.
