This is about the Beloit location which doesn’t show up on Unilocal. I would have given this place 5 stars for having basically every sweet treat you can imagine, but I came here for a Taro boba smoothie specifically. The atmosphere of Flying Pig is similar to that of being a child walking into a candy store. It is a candy store and my level of excitement was two decades younger than my actual age. Bravo Flying Pig. Service was great and at least the time we went at, it wasn’t crowded. The options at this place are unbelievable. Flavored popcorn, fudges, icecream, teas, coffee, candies, even bubble tea and smoothies!!! Wow! I specifically got the taro smoothie with boba, and this is where my 5 star review drops down a half point( Unilocal doesn’t do half stars). The flavor was very mild. It was more like a vanilla shake with a hint of boba. Maybe the employee didn’t put enough flavor powder in??? But I came here with a craving and it was not fully satisfied. I think I would have needed to drink THREE of their taro smoothies in order to fulfill my taro flavored needs. Tisk tisk. As for the boba/pearls/bubbles/tapioca-balls…whatever the official name is… they were good. Not the best, but good. The pearls here are smaller than most places I’ve been to, which actually works to their advantage in my opinion. These pearls were chewy and great texture. Nice work, Flying Pig. Now if we can juuuust get your taro smoothies to taste how they should, I’d call the long drive to this place 100% worth it. As for anyone wondering if this place is worth while – it is. There’s seating at this place so it makes a nice date and you can take your fun friends who want to try strange non-white people treats, or you could take your boring friend Tim who will just order one scoop of vanilla icecream and a can of soda. 9⁄10 would probably go again.

Neat atmosphere. I probably ordered something dumb which is probably why I didn’t care for it. There was a ton of sauce added. I feel like I’d recommend sticking with something safe. I bet it’s fine.

What a lot of fun! Great spot for a date, a meet-up with friends, or for parents and kids. Fudge, assorted candy, coffee drinks, ice cream, on and on. They have all the goodies here. Really fun and cute interior too, and the staff were friendly and patient. The store was clean and never too loud or busy, despite a steady stream of business.

Great place with a HUGE menu. Ice cream, shaved ice, smoothies, coffee, tea, popcorn, candy, cookies, fudge and more. I do think the menu is a little to extensive, but it’s great for kids.

We love the new location and also the additions to the menu: gourmet popcorn and fudge. I’m sure there are other things too, but those are our favorites. We always want Flying Pig for a treat, even over ice cream, so I’m happy for a second location where the lines don’t seem to be so long. My favorite treat is a slush blended with vanilla soft serve, especially since Sonic got rid of their CreamSlushes. My favorite slush flavor is impossible to determine, I’ve liked every one I’ve tried, so has my daughter. It seems like our choices just keep getting better!

Hip, hip, hurray! I’m so thrilled about this! It’s like an old fashioned candy shop gone modern kid café. Everything from the bright décor to the menu screams«fun»! Don’t worry they have espresso too! We will be back. Again. And again.

Love their menu items. There is something for everyone. It’s a favorite stop of my family when biking around town. I did not give 5 stars only because sometimes service is slow and I have been given attitude by staff more than once. The Maui Freeze is my favorite! Fun décor and clean dining area/bathrooms

Great shaved ice and really nice location just on the rock river. What truly blew me away was the green tea smoothie. I have never had a beverage so refreshing. I had the guava/passion fruit mix which was amazing!!! My kids had the ice cream and the shaved ice, both of which were very good. In addition there is also at least 50 different types of candy you can try. Overall a great snack store with a huge assortment of shaved ice and smoothies. We will definately be back next time we are in Rockton.

On my way back to Chicago from Madison, I decided to take a little detour just outside Rockford to visit a little town called Rockton. Since I love small towns, a friend told me I should check it out some day. With a free afternoon ahead and an appetite, I looked around for a place to eat/drink and found Flying Pig. It’s located in a newer commercial development not too far from Main Street. I was originally craving a veggie sandwich of some sort. When I walked in and found out they didn’t make sandwiches without meat(lame) but yet, had a huge selection of teas, smoothies, coffee, shaved ice, and bubble tea, I knew I had to to get the bubble tea! I ordered a raspberry bubble tea. For $ 2.50! Two. freaking-fifty dollars! So cheap! I took one sip and my tongue immediately did a happy dance. ITWASSOGOOD. I have no idea if I’ll be back in Rockton again, but if I do, I’ll swing by Flying Pig. NOTE: They use milk in their bubble teas. I didn’t know until I looked the receipt and saw«whole milk» listed. Fortunately, I reacted before they made it and got soy milk. I need to check my other favorite bubble tea spots to see what they make it with.
