Goldie B Floberg Center

This review is for Goldie’s Gourmet Goodies which is a part of the Goldie B. Floberg Center located at 58 W. Rockton Rd. The company is known for it’s «Inside Out Cupcakes» which places the frosting/​filling in the middle of the cake. The cupcakes are then topped with a donut glaze and tasty morsels that compliment the cupcake theme. Cupcakes come in two sizes, 2″ wide «just for you» and 4″ wide «Signature». Although not listed on the online menu, GGG also offers chocolate covered buttercream squares.
For a buttercream lovers birthday I ordered a half dozen 2″ Creamsicle cupcakes, half dozen 2″ Southern Comfort cupcakes and one pound of the buttercream squares. The treats were well presented on a decorated platter and overall easy enough to transport. The cupcakes were heavy due to being stuffed with flavored buttercream. We were all surprised by just how much frosting could be in a 2″ cupcake and how well the cake held together. We agreed that the cupcakes were very rich, and although half a cupcake was plenty to satisfy our sweet tooths, the cupcakes were so tasty that we each ate a whole one. Out of the variety of chocolate covered flavored buttercreams, the Mocha and Southern Comfort were equal favorites, while the white chocolate covered ones were the least favorite (although there weren’t any of those left over either). I would suggest allowing the cupcakes to warm a bit at room temperature if pulling them from the fridge. This will allow for a creamer texture to the buttercream filling.
At $ 8.50 per half dozen, that’s only $ 1.40 per gourmet cupcake! There’s a lot of value here. I would expect to pay upwards of $ 2.50 or more per cupcake in a traditional storefront. Speaking of storefronts, there isn’t one associated with GGG. Instead, you’ll need to call in your order ahead of time. They were able to accommodate my order with 24 hours notice. You’ll pick up your order by buzzing into the main entrance of the Goldie B. Floberg Center. Although, there may be an option for delivery. Bottom line, we’re looking forward to trying the several other cupcake flavors that are offered.
