Park Avenue Deli

This place is a PIG WITH LIPSTICK. Let’s face it it was never THAT good to begin with. It was the best deli in a small radius of a few blocks so it was good enough. However, what was once average quality has plummeted. The place is clearly taking RESTING ON THEIR LAURELS to another level. Yes it looks relatively clean and inviting, but the food isn’t good or even fresh and the staff is a joke. Especially the guy that looks like «CHUCKY.» When I walked in and said «Hi. How are you?» he didn’t even respond but just stared back at me with a blank stare and look at his pen in hand and notepad. Then when he made a comment about what I ordered and said, «Breakfast of champions.» Meanwhile, it was 1 pm, and while it wasn’t my healthiest order ever (sandwich and chips), I was shocked at the source. I am in good shape, and was treating myself; this guy looks like he never even sniffed a gym! If I am ordering food at an establishment I don’t need comments from the peanut gallery, especialy when I am pretty sure that peanut gallery probably doesn’t even have a high school diploma, and has a pissy attitude. Then when I was getting ready to leave another customer came in saying that the chicken cutlet and pasta salad they gave him WASN’T FRESH. He told them this was the THIRD TIME this happened and he comes there everyday, and he wouldn’t be coming back. You can’t make this stuff up.
Morale of the story: When you are hungry, even if desperate, and imagining a delicious sandwich or deli lunch just put your foot on the pedal and DRIVE PAST THIS PLACE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE! That is unless you want to be accosted by the staff, and then given LAST WEEK’S LEFTOVERS! I will and you should not be going back!
If the owner reads this: Time to snap out of it and start putting your best foot forward because you are going to sink like a bag of rocks if you and the staff you hire don’t start acting like you want people’s business again.

I am giving them one star because even though their food is good their service sucks !!! I work in an office building about two blocks from them and we usually order a large amount of food from them for breakfast and lunch, but lately we would order and the prices would be wrong or one day the price for something would be one thing and the next it would be like 3 dollars more, they over charged a co-​workers credit card a couple of times and when we would call and confront them they answer would like «oh well» or they would argue with us, we stopped ordering from them for about a month because of everything that was going on, and when we gave them another chance they screwed it up again they over charged us the sandwich was wrong and when we were trying to figure something out the delivery man said to us «if we could hurry up because his time is important and we were wasting his time» so again we had to call up Park and complain, this is our final straw, and they now have lost business from a company that would of given them a ton of business daily, its sad because not everyone who works there is a jerk and there food is good but for us we shall not be ordering from anymore !!!

For a place that’s busy like grand central, all the workers there are friendly. They make great sandwiches also

This is a deli I can get used to. There were two sides to order. There was a fresh ‘custom salad’ station and hot and cold selections. It was a little overwhelming because there were so many options, and since it was really busy I felt a little rushed but that was because they are a very efficient shop. They were congenial and wanted to get you taken care of and out. I had the grilled veggie wrap and the veggies were so tender and fresh. It was amazing. My husband had a great sandwich too. To use the bathroom you needed a key which kind of made you feel like you were at a rest stop. Here was the worst part that didn’t effect my rating but you should be aware; I parked in the lot behind the shop, paid my 50 cents and exactly 14 minutes later came out to find a parking ticket; I backed into the stall – didn’t notice the sign-​so this $ 13 wrap turned into a $ 50 wrap ($ 37 ticket)…that sucked!

I had a really bad experience today. Especially with those nasty Hispanics guys in the front. They have a nasty attitude. Not friendly at all.

Best bacon egg an cheese around, and you have to try there crumb cake coffee.AMAZING.

I work down the block and we order breakfast here almost everyday. Everything is always great. I also get lunch here sometimes. The Venice wrap is delicious and the salads are fresh. Best deli in town.

I have been coming here on and off and the only reason was convince to my work place. Today went in to buy a sandwich #32 on the big board behind the counter which costs $ 6.99 when the guy rang it up he charged me $ 7.99 I told him its a mistake the price is less he couldn’t care less and took my money. On the way out I double checked the board and I was right when I tried to show him he just dismissed me and went about his work. To some a dollar might seem a small amount to worry about but if me you her and maybe 300 people a day get cheated for a dollar 7 days a week 365 days a year it becomes big money. The fact that he lies and cheats on this what else will he lie about? The quality or freshness of the food? Anyway I will never set foot in that place ever again to find out.

Average deli. Salads are particularly good.

A really great neighborhood deli. Not gourmet type but food is delicious and super fresh. Service is fabulous, staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Nothing not to like about Park Ave Deli.

Excellent service with an amazing friendly staff! The salads are ridiculous (in a good way of course) that I can never finish it in one sitting. Luckily for about $ 8-​$ 9 you get a small salad that really is a large. Breakfast is also excellent especially #16 (my fave). Come here if you’re looking for exceptional good deli food.

Good coffee. Busy place. The Quiznos across the street didn’t have a chance. Their specialty: the chopped salads that you can design yourself.

I can only comment on the cold cut sandwiches. First visit, the god father sandwich was so thin. 3 thin layers of meats. no exaggeration. and expensive at $ 9. i chaulked it up to a bad day perhaps. 2^nd visit, same thing. i dont mind paying up for a solid sandwich but to pay such a price for mostly bread, I’ll go somewhere else.

I dont see what everyone loves about this deli its okay and they have some good stuff but really to go crazy over a salad? ?!! And why dont they make there own potato and macaroni salad? Why generic! The bacon on the egg sandwich is never crispy either!

My favorite is the salad best selection and price.

Best deli in RVC! Love their breakfast sandwiches and they have THE BEST SALADS. It’s conveniently located in walking distance to anywhere in downtown RVC on the corner of N. Park and Merrick. The staff is wonderful and always remembers your order, plus offers speedy local delivery. Great iced coffee, too. Amazing service, amazing deli!!!

It is also clean, clean, clean and all. the food is fresh.
But most of all I love the smiles and great service and how they always remember how I take my coffee.
