Such a good restaurant. Amazing food and delicious drinks. Happy hour 5 – 7 with five dollar margaritas and 6 dollar apps. Mike the bartender was the best.

This place is awesome. Great lobster quesadillas and guacamole! Happy Hour 5 – 7 mon — Fri 6 $ apps and twofer drink specials! Mike was a great bartender to my friends and I, always made sure our drinks were full and we were satisfied. The atmosphere is laid back and I love how the front big windows open up on a nice evening. Definitely coming back 100%! Great new Mexican spot in rvc!

Made a reservation and stood at the door for 15 minutes and had workers walk right past us and stare at us. Terrible service. Will never come again

Very upset when I came here. Had 4 drinks with friends, food in a span of 3 hours and they cut us off. Unsure why you would cut a party of 4 when its 4 in the afternoon and were there for a couple hours. We work in the area and would have liked to make this establishment a regular after work go to like many places we have in our rotation for the past 5 years — could have had a lot of business from us. Don’t recommend and probably wouldn’t come back unless every place in rvc is closed.

Had been dying to try this place. So-so. Greeted warmly by host and we were sat down immediately on a Tues nite before 6:00. Thought we made it for happy hour but it’s only good at the bar. Ordered 2 margaritas-they were small but strong! Did not skimp on the liquor. Ordered a steak salad, told waiter I wanted meat medium well. My hubby and son ordered steak quesadillas. My meat was well done and cold but seasoned well. My husband’s and son’s dishes were delicious. After taking our order our Asian waiter never came back to check up on us. I was dying for another margarita but he never came around, by the time he did I was too pissed to order anything else and just asked for the check. With Mesita competing nearby they have to step up their game.

Food was plentiful and flavorful I would highly recommend empenada de Jardin. Perfect texture and crispness. We also enjoyed the chorizo queso. Must have is the coconut fried ice cream with mango sorbet center. It was such an amazing way to end a fantastic dinner. Service was top notch =) Ps See Kyle at the bar for some kick ass Margaritas !

Had a craving for mexican food and saw this on groupon. The inside of the restaurant is decorated very nice. It has a good vibe to it. Its small but it does not feel it. We started with the lobster tostada appetizer. The lobster was delicious and all the different flavors mixed added great taste. For dinner I had the chicken enchiladas and my boyfriend had the crispy tortilla chicken. Both dishes were very good. Im picky with enchiladas but these were tasty. The crispy tortilla chicken was also good but i think may have been a little better with a sauce on it. Overall the portion size was generous and we both enjoyed our meals. We will be back!

I wished I wrote this review sooner… as my visit was a few months ago. Food quality was poor — food was cold coming to the table and many of the dishes we had were gummy, pasty and somewhat tasteless.(we focused on the usual Mexican fare such as quesadillas, enchiladas, guacamole etc) There was not one dish out of the three of us — that was good. The chips were pretty tasty — salsa was ordinary. The drink menu was pretty creative — and we tried quite a few of their signature drinks and really liked it. Waitress was good at being tendful and present. Environment was pretty nice — clean, bright, creative and appropriate. Bathrooms were clean. With all of the options available to eat in RVC — this has a lot of competition in this genre/cuisine space and Salsa Mexicana needs to really step it up a bit. I really wanted to like it but didn’t.

Definitely a hoping joint on a Friday night. It was a nice night so the windows were open. I ordered the guacamole which was a huge portion, home made and good. The salsa to dip the chips in was very good. I ordered the lobster enchilada. It was very tasty. The service was great. I would recommend this restaurant.

First time there and will definitely go back. We ate at the bar and food is 5 star rating(probably best mexican restaurant in Rockville Centre), service is 5 stars very friendly and excellent staff; both the bartender and waitress recommended great choices off the menu, the bartenders name was Mike and he made great cocktails. Owner spared no expense creating the ambience. Highly recommend if looking for a Mexican restaurant in Rockville Centre.

Great salsa that comes with the chips when you sit down. Has a sweet taste. The guacamole is made to order(as any reputable Mexican place should do) which is very very good. The medium is spicer than normal. So be warned The entrees were decent. But the apps were better

Cinco de Mayo… As you would expect it was crowded and loud. However we were seated immediately thanks to our open table reservation. The wait staff did much better than we expected. We were handed hats, t-shirts and necklaces to get us in the mood. The $ 5 margaritas were not a bargain as they were mostly ice. Seriously, I would guess their was barely an ounce of liquid in our glasses. We switched to wine and beer… Much better. The food was outstanding. We shared empanadas… Really delicious. I had chicken enchiladas and the missus had a shrimp dish. Both were excellently prepared and portions were sized right for us. All in all we will be back under less chaotic conditions. Best Mexican around.

I was contacted by management after leaving this review that they wanted to make up for my bad experience, and offered to send me a gift card to try them again. It is now seven months later, and I never received a gift card even though I followed up with them. This restaurant obviously just does not care.

Went for lunch today and had the shrimp and spinach burrito, my wife had the fish tacos. Burrito was excellent. My wife loved the fish tacos, I had 1 myself because there were 4 huge tacos. Service was good, I think it was the manager walking around greeting people checking in with meal. We had a great experience and will be back.

I frequently dine out in NYC and Long Island. And I frequently eat Mexican. And I can honestly say this is one of the most absurdly priced menus I’ve seen. I get it. Rockville Centre. High rent. You gotta pay the bills. I get it Salsa. I’m a tequila guy. I know it well. Good friends. We go way back. They are making their signature cocktails with Juarez tequila. Which if you don’t know is cheap stuff, like $ 10 a bottle, not 100% agave. This is fine for a basic rack margarita. Not for a $ 14 drink. Top shelf prices demand top shelf booze. Cerveza-Rita was particularly no bueno. Basically 3oz. rack margarita, 3oz. Modelo beer over ice… bleh. The food prices make even less sense. $ 20 for 2 carne asada tacos … But the steak entrée is only $ 23? $ 16 for a little martini glass of ceviche … But the salmon with lobster and shrimp entrée is only $ 23? The list goes on. Lots of items that seem overpriced. Other items that I think they could get away with charging more for… I just don’t think I’ve ever seen 2 tacos on a menu anywhere for $ 17-$ 20 a plate. «BUTYOUGAVEFOURSTARSVIN, TELLUSWHY!?» SIMMADOWN. Awesome décor. Good service. Friendly bartenders and management. And although the pricing is bizarre, the food was really delicious. Can’t knock them in that department. In particular, great guac & great platanos maduros. So basically, I found myself hating certain things about the place, but not enough to stop me from returning. If that makes sense…

I had a great experience. The waiter was attentive and prompt. The manager also came around on occasion to ensure everything was going well. It was my first time there and was with a group of 7. The food tastes amazing and was reasonably price for the area. I was enchanted by the ambiance and the music was good but not too loud where you couldn’t talk. I’d definitely go again.

The restaurant reached out to me on behalf of my review so I will give them another star for effort. I may try this place again and will report back.

Had an impromptu lunch date with the mrs. The salsa with the chips tasted like ketchup with lemon. I was not wowed by the drinks, the Margaritas were too sweet and bitter. Had the street corn as an appetizer, and it was OK, nothing to write home about. Now on to the main meal. I ordered the skirt steak fajita and it was amazing. They really know how to prepare the skirt steak, and to top it off, it was served with house-made tortillas(you rarely see that). On to desert, the sweet corn crème brule was one of the most delicous things I ever ate. Had it not been for the drinks and corn, I would have given this joint 5 stars.

Came here last night with a party of 4. It was perfect timing, prior to calling for a reservation it most definitely sounded like they were crazy packed. Our waitress greeted us, she was very sweet, and loved her job, a little over intentive but I’d rather over than none at all. The prices here are pretty pricy for a Mexican resturaunt, but overall the food tastes very good. I ordered the Shrimp in Green Sauce and it was very flavorful, and there was a great portion of shrimp on the plate. The Margaritas were strong but it’s a Friday so of course we were down with that, and very good as well. Overall, the experience was great and I would come back here– maybe I’ll see how Taco Tuesdays go(and yes they have that).
