Today, After I consumed 2 dogs(Atlanta beef and Coney smoked shaft) I thought to myself — How can a hotdog get any better than this? It really can’t. They were snappy, juicy and flavorful with all the toppings. Exceeded my expectations. The wait was a little longer than I anticipated, and there was a little confusion in the truck, but if these guys can work out the kinks, boom — best food truck ever! And best hotdog I have had in a really really long time. Excellent!

Today I ordered an Atlanta dog and a Chicago dog from the GAHD food truck. I was very disappointed. Not only was it over priced for something that barely exceeds what I can get at 7-eleven, but it took over 10 minutes for it to be served to me. Not both at the same time. 10 minutes for one and then another 2 minutes to get the other. Considering everything should be from already prepared ingredients, the wait shouldn’t be this long. I was only 4th in line with the first two customers ordering 1 dog each. People ordering from the Go Fish and Pars Kabob trucks were able to get their food(more it for a lot less) and finish it in the time it took my co-worker and I our order. It was embarrassingly slow. As for the dogs, the flavor was enjoyable, but the actual hot dogs are standard size. I was expecting something grander considering the price of $ 6 each. The toppings on the Chicago dog exceeded the size of the dog. The Atlanta dog is just canned chili and nacho cheese. Neither of these left me the feeling satisfied of having just enjoyed a $ 12 lunch. Like another reviewer said, at the end of the day the hot dogs were both good, but not good enough that I crave them again like my next Five Guys burger. Definitely won’t be paying $ 12 for that basic of a lunch again.

There are a lot of hot dog combinations. The fries are awesome. Good stop for a quick lunch.

We got a rachelesque dog, chili burger dog and a plain dog here the other day and it was good! The buns were grilled which were nice. Also got some tater tots and French fries, which were ok as well. Wish they had a kids menu though. $ 5 for a plain hot dog without anything on it was a bit steep. Overall we thought it was a bit pricey for what it was but it was good in a pinch.

The sun shines bright on my olé’ Kentucky home… and GAHD trucks KENTUCKYDOG! A yummy beef hot dog cook to order with the perfect bite to it then covered in chili, potato salad, slaw, onion and mustard. And that makes for the best hotdog I’ve ever had! Made it a combo for a few bucks more and got a canned soda and a bag of crisp, hot tater tots which I covered in Old Bay. Each order is made as they come in but it did not take more than 5 minutes and I’d gladly wait for freshness any day. So glad to know this food truck is in King Farm on Fridays. Going back for the Florida dog next time(hold the bacon). Very friendly employees and easy access. Huge parking lot right next to where the truck posts up.

I love the concept of food trucks. Quick easy food that you can get out of a moving vehicle? I’m sold! I’ve seen this at the Shell gas station whenever I’m on Rockville Pike and I’ve been curious to try it. Last Friday I finally found a free moment. I learned that their location changes pretty much everyday so I had to meander around King Farm to find them. Just make sure you check their twitter schedule the day you want to go. Now, onto the food. There are so many choices of hot dogs/burgers/half smokes that you can get here. When I arrived at the truck, there had to be about 15 – 20 people who had ordered ahead of me so I knew I would have to be in for a longer hall. I really wanted to try the Florida dog(wrapped in bacon topped with a fried egg) but the guy in the truck told the lady in front of me it takes like 25 mins to make so I backed out of that choice. I decided on the Atlanta dog without onions(chili and cheese) with a side of tater tots(who doesn’t love tater tots?). They ran out of French fries during the mad lunch rush so the lady behind me was SOL. It took a bit to finally get my order but I understood because it was during the lunch rush and there’s only so many people that can fit in the truck. When I got my order, I knew it was very fresh because it was piping hot. I had to wait a little to eat my hot dog. The tater tots were nice and crispy, cooked the right way. The chili wasn’t too spicy but not too bland either. It was a liquid cheese that they used. I think they use all beef hot dogs? The chili dog was pretty good though. You put your own ketchup and mustard(condiments) on so you can smother it or lightly dab some on yourself. The guys that worked there were pretty nice too. Overall: yummy tater tots + fun food truck + friendly dudes working there = I think I’ll check out twitter more to find out where they’ll be heading next during my lunch break!

I was doing a happy dance when I saw them at the fall harvest festival event because they were on my list of places to try. I told all my friends that we had to get dogs even though it was drizzling and the kids were antsy and hopped up on Halloween candy. I was really hoping for the Korean dog but alas it was not to be that night. After scoping them all out and realizing most of them had chili on it(which is difficult to eat while managing a kiddo and walking) I opted for the Chicago dog. Now I will be the first to admit I have never had a dog in Chicago so I didn’t get the reference but my first bite was totally underwhelming. I ended up taking the peppers out because they were impossible to bite into without taking the whole thing at once and I didn’t like them. The fresh tomatoes were nice. And the dog had a good skin pop when you bite into it. But the bun was not substantial enough to withstand the toppings– I was glad I didn’t get the ones with chili– that would have needed a fork and knife. So, basically I still want to try the Korean dog. I would come back if it was somewhere I already was at. But I wouldn’t make a special trip to come find them. 3.5 stars.

Awesome eats! GAHD has turkey dogs, and can make anything with those instead of beef(I don’t eat beef). They are also very friendly. My son loves getting a dog from GAHD, he really enjoys getting food from a truck. This is a gourmet food truck, but the prices are low. Check it out, you will love it!

Got the Florida and Atlanta hot dogs. Both were pretty good. The chili on the Atlanta was good, but thought the macaroni could have been better. As for the florida hotdog, it seemed like a good combination but the egg and cheese took away from the taste of the actual hotdog. At the end of the day, the hotdogs were both good, but I don’t and prob never will crave either one nor would I pay 15 bucks for those 2 again…

I found this place, by chance and a little stalking. I had a craving for hot dogs, but didn’t know of any good restaurants near my job to go get one, so I took to twitter. Searching out MoCo food trucks, and I found the page for GAHD on the MoCoTaste page, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Over the weekend I watched an Episode of «The Sandwich King»(food shows are the worst) and he recreated a Chicago Dog. I was absolutely captivated by the deliciousness of what seemed to be a Chicago Dog. I mean, I’ve never really put much more than ketchup, mustard, and onions on it. So this was a giant leap for me. So imagine my surprise when I checked out the GAHD site, and the first thing I saw under hot dogs was in fact a Chicago Dog! My jaw dropped, I thought, this is perfect I should try them out some time. Then I saw that the truck was parked at a BP on the pike, 5 minutes away from my job. Jaw dropped again and I thought, I MUST try this today. It was destined to be, how could I not? I never would have forgiven myself had I not ventured out to try them. Now, the food. It was all really delicious. I got a Chicago dog without the tomato slices and it tasted AMAZING. I loved the little spice from the sport peppers(something I had never heard of before hearing about a Chicago dog). The dog itself was great, had a good snap when I took a bite. The tots, they got me. I love tots, and I love GAHDs tots. They were crispy, golden, and delicious. Fresh out of the fryer, and not too oily. Maybe next time I’ll skip the garlic & parmesan seasoning and stick to Old Bay. Every time I ate one I thought of spaghetti, but they were still very very good. I went around 12:45pm-1pm and there was only one guy who ordered right before me. I waited maybe 10 minutes then I was on my way back to work. Food trucks are amazing, people need to start patronizing them more because you never know what kind of gourmet deliciousness you can get from a brightly decorated truck! I’ll definitely be back, can’t wait to try more dogs!

Came here again for lunch the other day — freaking awesome. I just got back from a trip to Chicago, where I visited the famed Hot Doug’s. Sadly, there is no Hot Doug’s in the DC area. Gladly, this truck has a chicago-style which is on-par with Chicago! Neon green relish and all! Also, they have this hawaiian style dog which is freaking awesome, some sort of homemade pineapple salsa. Just awesome. I do wish they had more exotic meats like Hot Doug’s…though I’m sure that’s hard in a truck.

The man takes his craft seriously and each hot dog is carefully made just for you. It takes a bit of time(15+ minutes) so if you’re in a rush, I’d see if asking, «what’s quick today?» get’s you something fast. The wait is worth it, though, when you get your sandwich! (NOTE — There is another«Greatest American Hot Dogs» page on Unilocal with a lot of reviews for the truck, mixed in with the newer restaurant. Check that page… as it is where all my pictures are!) The Manhattan dog I had was more than I expected. Loaded up with onion sauce, kraut and mustard. When I get them *in* Manhattan they are not this carefully made. One was a meal, but alas, I got two… …The Florida dog was next up. I’ve had bacon on a lot of things, and let’s face it, it is usually a floppy piece of partially cooked fat. Not at GAHD! Somehow there was a crisp, perfectly cooked, piece of bacon wrapped around my hot dog. It had an egg on it, some cheese and probably something else. It could have used more spice(hot sauce or mustard) but it was very good. Only downside for me was that the full menu you see on their website is not presented at the truck. I had picked out 3 – 4 things online that I wanted(hot beef, Miami, Korea dog) and none of them were available. They do have a large selection, though… although it is kind of tough to read on the smudged, partially erased, menu board. Worth the visit. I’ll look him up again and hopefully he puts the day’s specials in his tweets so you know if it’s a hot beef day or a koreadog day!

I had never been to a food truck before and I’ve always been apprehensive about them. This place waved any reservations I had before, it was awesome. I don’t eat meat and I haven’t in 10+ years when I asked about vegetarian options I was expecting fries or some kind of side dish. When David? The owner of the truck started naming all the different vegetarian options they had I was beside my self. I told him what I liked and he came up with some kind of veggie hotdog combination and it was really good. My boyfriend also got a bacon burger(clearly he’s not a vegetarian) and he really liked it too.
