Hunan To Go

This place has some of the worst delivery service I’ve ever seen in my life. It took them about 2 hours just to get to my house and the food was horrendous. They were also very unorganized, I called them and made sure they got my order and they said no, we don’t have your order. Then after I ordered more food they food came. I honestly would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Find somewhere else, trust me.

Ordered every week from this restaurant. Food was tasty and delivered quickly.
However, recently ordered and got a menu that says they are under new management. Not for the better. The chicken I got was cooked to shoe leather consistency. The vegetables tasted like they were spoiled and they thought smothering it with sauce would hide the fact.
There are plenty of other Chinese restaurants in the area which I’m going to start trying out.

Oh, man, what happened to this place?
My coworkers and I used to order lunch from here. Prices (for the lunch specials) were really reasonable, portions were generous, and the quality of the food was surprisingly good. How good? There were times when I brought lunch from home and still ordered food from here. And believe me… it didn’t take much to convince my coworkers we should order delivery. THAT’S how much we liked this place.
But then a few months ago, things changed. They switched to different takeout containers, which made the portions smaller.
Okay, we didn’t mind that so much. I mean, I never ate all of the rice that came with the meal before, so now I would eat more rice to make up for the smaller main meal. (That makes sense?).
Food service is a tough business. Profit margins are thin. You have to cut back a little??? I get it.
But the quality of the food has gone downhill, too. I don’t know if they have new cooks, or if they switched to cheaper ingredients, (or both), but the food is definitely not as good as it once was.
It tastes… cheap. Pre-​packaged. You know what I mean? Like those bags of frozen pre-​made Chinese dishes you get at the supermarket. Like the cheap garbage Panda Express serves.
The first time, I thought I imagined it.
The second time, I asked my coworkers and they all said the same thing: «This isn’t as good as it used to be.»
The third time… Well, there won’t be a third time. I’ll bring lunch from home or we’ll order from some place else.
I don’t know if they got new management, a new chef, or if the owner told them they had to cut costs, but whatever they’re doing, the quality of the food has dropped.
It’s a shame because it was once very good. Now it’s just mediocre.

Pleasantly surprised. I had alot of special orders and they followed everything to a T. Egg roll was bomb and the white meat general tsos was perfect. I was scared about delivery after reading some reviews but it took less than 30 min and the food is pipping hot. Def going to order again!

Stay away from this buissnes, they are not responsible and you may wait your delivery for ever!!!

Ordered Sweet and Sour Pork for delivery, they forgot the sauce on the side. The batter on the pork was undercooked and mushy on the inside. I’ve ordered delivery from them a lot, first issue with them. At least the crab Rangoon was tasty.

We love this place and order delivery from them all the time! We rarely have to wait more than 30 minutes but don’t often order on peak days like Friday or Saturday night. Their hot n sour soup is nice n spicy and combination lo mein generously loaded. We have never been disappointed. I suggest sticking to delivery as their small, disorganized, and cluttered take out spot may deter you from the tasty experience.

There’s no shortage of great Chinese food in Rockville, but it can be tough to find a good place that delivers and has an extensive vegetarian menu. Fortunately, Hunan to Go meets all those criteria, with a fantastic array of really delicious options for vegetarians and non-​vegetarians alike. The vegetarian chicken is delicious, a perfect texture and consistency, easily one of the best imitation chickens we’ve had.
The fried eggplant, soups, and dumplings are all delicious, but the real standouts here are the sauces, which are well-​balanced, diverse, and very flavorful. We’ve already ordered several times in the past month (very easy online ordering, and great prices), and we’ll be ordering plenty more in the future!

This was the best Chinese food I have had in awhile. Great job, this place has become my go to place for Chinese. The General Tso extra spicy was perfect.

I was really surprised this place got «2.5 stars» on Unilocal,but most of the reviews are based off delivery time and not food. Well, I got takeout instead. I was a bit thrown off because it is located in a corner in a tiny plaza area outside of Rockville center, but they do not disappoint my taste buds.
If you can get over appearances, then I would give this place a try. Maybe pick-​up instead of delivery since it seems delivery time seems a tad slow. But, this place serves some mighty tasty food, especially the sesame chicken! They have some savory, delicious Sesame chicken. I also ordered the Mongolian Beef. It was okay. Not the best Mongolian beef out there and there was an extensive amount of onions, but it was still pretty tasty.
Oh and their «spring rolls» are eggrolls. I wanted some delicious yummy fresh vegetables, but they are fried! Just a heads up! And… $ 10 minimum for credit card use!

I’m not sure why they only have two stars. I order delivery from Hunan at least once a week and it is delivered hot, fresh and good. The sweet & sour chicken is great and their lunch specials are great. I would recommend calling ahead if you are picking up as there is only room inside for about 3 or 4 people.

I can’t comment on the food yet, but they said 45mins for delivery. It’s been an hour and 15mins. It should never take that long for Chinese food!

I haven’t even eaten the food yet because I ordered it over an hour and 15 minutes ago. This strikes me as funny considering the confirmation email says 30 – 45 min for delivery orders. Hopefully the food is still hot and worth eating

Their food is inferior quality. For example, the bitter parts of the cabbage are used in the Moo Shu dish. The Egg Fu Yong is like an unseasoned omelet with no sauce. The plum sauce is salty to the extreme. I saw no quality in their food. Their containers are flimsy plastic that open easily, and don’t close tightly to prevent leaks. In their defense I am used to big city chinese food so maybe this is the best Rockville has.

On a quest to find a new Chinese food place, unfortunately, this place is not it. First of all, it took over an hour to get our food. It was a Saturday night, but still, an hour for Chinese food?!
The fried chicken was decent (not very crispy tho, more saucy), but the fried rice that came with it had maybe ten tiny pieces of egg and was nothing but soy sauce and rice. Not even some frozen veggies thrown in there.
The mushu pork was good, but the wraps that came with it were those thin and dry egg roll wraps, not the chewy pancake wraps that you get with pecking duck.
They were skimpy with the veggies and meat in their combination lo mein as well. If you feel like eating a lot of noodles, go for it. Portions were generous, but that’s every Chinese place.
So the quest goes on.

Food was ok. Definitely NOT the «best chinese food in town». If you’re going to claim that step up your game! I’ve been to almost every chinese food restaurant in town and this place is not even close to being on my top 5. I guess I was just really hoping for the best chinese food ever but unfortunately I was not impressed.
Wonton soup was pretty good though.

Christopher B, if you chose the wrong type of food to order from a Chinese restaurant, no one can save you, but you do a GREAT DISSERVICE to the restaurant by rating it 1 star when you yourself remarked that your coworkers food looked better than yours.
For me, I order regularly from them, and they have always delivered good, hot food, great portions. For me, the best Chinese delivery around the Rockville area.
Some of the usual stuff I order, Hot and Spicy soup, Orange Chicken, Beef with Tomato and Peppers, Seafood Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun, Beef Rice Noodles, freaking good food!

If you can overlook appearances (or, better yet, order delivery) you won’t be disappointed. This is some of the best American-​style Chinese food in Rockville. The food is always hot and flavorful. Some of our favorite dishes are the chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce, the Mongolian beef, and the lo mein. The spring rolls also are very good. We have enjoyed the moo Shu as well, although I am pretty sure they used egg roll wrappers as pancakes.
I cannot remember ever thinking a dish from this place was bland and I have been ordering from this place for more than five years now.
So what’s the downside? The place is a total hole in the wall. When I first started coming here they had sushi as well, but that just seemed like a bad idea. The physical property is very small and they use the front area for storage and prep. If you can overlook that aspect, though, you’re in for a treat.

Just my thoughts, food was fried. Thats about all the adjectives I will give it. Overwhelmingly, fried. For some that’s what they want, so Enjoy!

On some real real, dis place was banging! Mad cheap too doe! I’m over here hungrier than a boot, and I ordered me some of that gud gud aka day sweet and sour chick (dat came wif white rice) and 2 egg rolls!
Son I’m over here like terrio, «ooo, ooo, ooo kill ‘em»… I’m in a food comma now and ish. But dey wuz on time and the food was mad hot!
