Grabbed a quick snack and over all was an ok stop for a very cheap snack. The dough however was not fully cooked so made the Padgett a little soggy. The staff where nice as well so may give it another shot in the future.

Bought one chicken pastry today for 1.50 $.
Dough was undercooked and potentially dangerous.
Went back into deli to tell cashier and the man did not know any English.
I left the pastry on the counter and left on phone with Rockville department of hygiene now.

There’s 2 listings for this restaurant, but I think this is the right listing. While it’s «close» to the White Flint Metro, it’s also really, really close to the Twinbrook one too. I walk there after work sometimes when I’m in need of a sugary pick-me-up. It’s on the way to Target (ish).
I liked there 6^th bun free deal and there breads are reasonably priced.

Besides for baked goods like cake and buns they serve Chinese food. I usually don’t stray too far from the curry with beef because it is usually a last ditch effort meal since its a few steps from my home. You can also get bubble tea which is pre made but pretty tasty never the less. They have single serving pieces of cake as well for 1.60. tasty and cheap!

I haven’t tried many of the bakery items, but really like the hong kong style noodle soups here. The Hong Kong milk tea is good, just like what is served at cafes in Hong Kong.

Maria’s bakery is one of very few bakeries that make light-not too sweet cakes in this area. We always get a cake with fruits and whipping cream for office event from here. We tried mocha cream cake (yellow cake with mocha flavored butter cream frosting) but couldn’t beat the fruit-cream cake. If you like cake with dense-VERY sweet thick frosting (ones from most grocery stores.), this isn’t your bakery.
