Over 10 years ago, I had braces. For some reason, my lost retainers were never replaced and so my teeth shifted back. What a waste! Not only did I develop a terrible overbite, my teeth became overcrowded. My mother convinced me to get braces again last year. I didn’t find them necessary and I wasn’t known to smile much anyway. Eight extractions(four wisdom teeth and four bicuspids/premolars) later, I was ready to get braces. Dr. Arzadon was my oral surgeon, so look for my short review on him. I chose to go with ceramic braces because they were less visible than traditional metal braces. Exactly one year later, my teeth showed an AMAZING improvement. For 12 months, Dr. Mimi Nguyen and her staff worked on my teeth. Even when she wasn’t personally adjusting my braces, she would touch base and check her staff’s work. Dr. Nguyen herself is a very knowledgeable, but very nice orthodontist. I believe she graduated at the top of her class at dental school. I’ve had no problems with her or my braces whatsoever during my orthodontic care. The office is very flexible when making and changing appointments(granted if you call them at least a day beforehand). I tend to schedule my appointments before busy hours(late afternoon and onward). She has two locations, one in Rockville and one in Potomac Falls/Sterling. The Rockville office is a bus ride away from the White Flint and Medical Center Metro stations.
I no longer hide my smile or laughter behind my hand. Thanks to Dr. Nguyen, I have more confidence. Who doesn’t like that? Tip: I take Tylenol before my appointment to minimize any discomfort from my tightened braces.
