Tony is amazing. He is excellent at color and cut and is super friendly. I simply can not say enough good things about him and the salon. Everyone is very friendly from the people at the front desk to the people who wash your hair. They are so helpful and Tony goes out of his way to work with my schedule. LOVETHISPLACE! I had gone to another salon for about 7 years and had a very bad experience and so it took me awhile to find a new place, I am pretty particular, and this place never lets me down. Super amazing.

Absolutely horrible customer service/front desk. Pretty much goes along with what the rest of the reviews state about the incompetency of the receptionists. Catchera is in charge of Standing Appts(reoccurring appts — same time/# of weeks/stylist) and the amount of judgement she shows is pitiful. She canceled my boss’ standing appointment without telling myself or him due to the fact he was out of the country/despite the my calls to cancel his appts along with the reason. He showed up for his next appointment only to be turned away(he drove from Tyson’s Corner). When I called to speak with her — she didn’t apologize and said it was a misunderstanding. Yeah, a misunderstanding on her part. Having used to work at an upscale salon — I understand the importance of customer service and going that extra mile for the guests. She said she would try to see what she could do with a ‘free’ haircut. Im sure Amber had to take a loss on that — all thanks to the reception desk! He will not be going back. We wish Amber the best of luck!

If this is repeated else where I apologize. But overall the experience is so demeaning! After going to this salon for several years I am still not recognized as a regular customer. I have used the same stylist for over 30 years so I am not going to quit. BUT why can’t the teenagers at the desk recognize me. There aren’t that many customers who walk through the door at a time, so why not make a EFFORT to know who I am and why I am there. I have a reservation book in front of you! READIT. Do I have to tell you what I am there for? Really it is not surgery. Second, when having my hair washed, I consider that a pretty intimate experience. having that person nattering one with their fellow employee makes me fell like a piece of meat. Most shampoo people are lovely people, they might talk to me, I am a pretty decent tipper. Lastly, why the house music. 90 percent of the stylists and customers at older, why not some relaxing classic music. There is such a disconnect in this place, I feel like I am a hair factory and I am not, I pay a value — Rockville MD price and not getting an experience that matches. ANDNOTICE I am not asking for anything more CUSTOMERSERVICE. Isnt the salon experience supposed to be a bit lux or being pampered? I will still go there, but they are certainly missing on a lot of points.

Love this salon and especially Pam who has been my hair stylist for over 15+ years! She does outstanding haircuts and highlights – keeps me looking young… which is why I travel back to MD for her services even though I have moved to Las Vegas, NV!

Be careful of the incompetent receptionist. She called to confirm my color and blow dry a few hours before my appointment, I had made a color and CUT appointment not blow dry so I corrected her. Then she asked have you been here before? When I told her I hadn’t she said she would then need to cancel and reschedule my appointment for another time, because we need more time. Really? Could they not have established that when I initially made my appointment. If you have a busy life and schedule you may want to look for a place that has a competent receptionist and front desk.

I LOVETHISSALON! I’ve gotten the typical highlights, haircuts, bleached out hair, anyway I get my hair done I love it! Tony is awesome there! He does a great job, he’s funny and it’s worth your while! Everyone that works there are very friendly and will strike up conversations with you and they make sure you are having the experience that you wanted!

Love this place, and love Tony! I first came here around four years ago when I decided to chop off my long, waist long hair into an asymmetrical bob. On my friend’s recommendation who was the receptionist there, I made an appointment with Tony. He did a wonderful job, and even shortened the back for me a bit more a week later when I decided that I wanted the cut to be more angled. I didn’t return again for until recently(four years later!) after having randomly run into Tony at a local restaurant. Having only gone in those two times four years ago, he immediately greeted me by name, asked how my sister was doing, and asked if I was still playing volleyball! Now that is great memory and even better customer service. He really takes his time cutting your hair and won’t sit you down and start snipping away and try to get you out fast like some other stylists do. I can’t really comment on anything else, as I have only ever gotten my hair cut by Tony there, but I would highly recommend him to anyone!

After looking and shopping around for the past year I finally decided to give this salon a try. I have extremely thick, long, curly hair and have had a number of nightmare experiences in this area getting a hair cut. My stylist was Tony and while I just got a basic trim with long layers, he did an excellent job. The only downside to this salon was the price — $ 70/women’s cut, which is double what I pay for my stylist back home in NY.

I needed a haircut and had a gift certificate. I called five minutes ahead and was told to just come in. Upon arrival, the receptionists were hesitant to admit me as a walk-in. The one who spoke to me over the phone said she thought I wanted to come in to buy a gift certificate. FAIL. Eventually they got Steve, the owner to do my hair. As nice as he is, he didn’t listen much to what I had to say about my hair before sending me to the shampoo station. The shampoo was short, the lady did a good job massaging and rinsing… however, those were the most uncomfortable shampoo chairs ever. Next was my blow dry and haircut. He tugged, yanked, and hit me on the head with his brush a couple times. I had never had such a painful hair cut in my life as I did here. In the end, both the cut and style were okay-looking, nothing spectacular. The entire time, nobody asked to take my coat. I had to hold it on my lap. As a new customer, they ask for your contact info and give you a goody bag – a nice touch. Everyone was polite but customer service could use improvement. The décor is very simple but chic. The salon isn’t bad but I would not return because I cannot imagine myself paying 70(regular price for women’s cut) for a haircut experience like this.

Went to Stephen Anthony in Rockville for the first time. There is a new stylist there who is amazing. I followed her to Virginia and now she is back in Maryland. Her name is Jesi and unlike many stylists she really listens to her clients. I have very straight hair with high lights and it is cut in a basic bob. She was able to cut my hair so I do not have to wash it every morning to get volume and she recommended products which really work. My high lights are unbelievable!!! They are multidimensional and beautiful. I have been stopped by people I do not know and asked where I get my hair done. The front desk is client friendly and the owner makes a point of speaking to the clients. As I was leaving he came over and spoke to me and admired my hair. The salon is sleek and modern and has plenty of parking which is always a plus. I will be back and would recommend this salon and Jesi to anyone who wants a great cut, fantastic color, and outstanding service.
