Ridge Pointe Athletic Club

I am happy to say this gym is my workout zone. I work out regularly, and recognize the friendly supportive atmosphere. I recommend this gym if you want to work on your body, or just burn some fat cells.

Update: The new owner, having seen my posting, came to my boss and asked if he could apologize to me. He did apologize and I believe he means it, although I still find him rather gruff. I know a number of people who are very happy at his gym and he has made many improvements since purchasing it. I am not sure if I am willing to get a membership there again though… we will see. At least he apologized.

Not happy at all about their contract. Basically you sign up by paying first and last months membership dues. Sounds simple enough. They also ask that you provide a 30 day notice as well… which I did. They will however charge you an additional month while you’re still inside of that 30 day window… fine I can understand they want to make a creative way to still get some money from you. However the part that is crappy, is that you don’t get prorated for those days within the 30 days. They charge the full amount regardless of when you give your 30 days. Mine just so happened to have been a couple of days after my last monthly dues. So I basically paid an additional family monthly dues after my decision to stop going to this gym. They’ll sell you on the idea, «but sir you can still use the gym for the next 30 days after your last monthly payment»…who is going to use a gym once they’ve made a conscious decision to stop going? I will not be returning to this gym with policies in place like this, and I suggest you consider it as well before you enroll there. My situation could have been handled better by them prorating the amount, because that would have been the sensible thing to do. I guess keeping my small amount of money was worth it to them to have a negative review written on a website for their potential customers to see. I would be willing to edit my comment if I’m contacted by the gym to work things out.

I used Troy as a trainer back in the day and was thoroughly impressed. This is a smaller gym but it has everything I need to get the job done.

I am still a member after four months. I see new faces, but not many. This is not a social scene so for those of you who wear your make up and splash on perfume when you go to the gym, please move on. This is perfect for people who just want to work out and keep it moving. I seldom see people sitting on equipment socializing.
