Amazing meal! We has the Sunday special Prime Rib and it was fantastic. I am really picky about beef and this beat the pricey big name steak houses in Dallas hands down for half the price. The sides were classics — mashed potatoes that were clearly freshly made and succotash — so good. Our server was outstanding — helpful but not pushy. Nice décor — a little rustic, but with tasteful artwork. Well worth the drive from Dallas.

The chicken and waffles might be some of the best in DFW but the service and experience are really bad. On Father’s day we arrived early ahead of our party to put our names down and were told it was an hour wait. An hour an half later we were still waiting and told they could not accommodate us because of the kitchen not being able to handle everything. Every Time we go in there is a wait yet plenty of empty tables, they clearly need some more efficient management of their kitchen and staff. Too bad because like I said the chicken and waffles are good. Probably won’t be back though.

My husband and I came here for brunch and we will definitely be coming back! The food was delicious: I had the huevos rancheros and he had the chicken and waffles — both were outstanding! There were other brunch items we saw come out for other guests that got our attention as well. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because there would have been a 45 minute wait if we hadn’t decided to sit at the bar and the bar service was mediocre. The place is kind of small but they only had one bartender to fill drink orders for all the guests and wait on the bar patrons. Ultimately the food came out fast and it was delicious but it’s missing a bit for atmosphere from my perspective.

Wonderful brunch! I had the biscuit sliders as I couldn’t decide between several things and this dish seemed to combine several of them. They did not disappoint. Reasonably priced, and an attentive staff.

The food is great it’s just sad how bad the service is! Nobody is in a hurry and it takes us an hour to wait for our table over half the time. I really would love to go here more but don’t because I know it will take at least 2 hours to get in and out. It’s weird that there are 4 open tables and people are waiting.

When this place opened it was one of our favorite places to eat in Rockwall. Unfortunately it has gone down hill drastically. The kitchen seems to be the main problem. The waitstaff seems to be good. However the kitchen is super slow and can’t poach an egg to save its life. We have given this place multiple attempts to get better but waiting 40 min for breakfast and then having the order come out wrong is the last straw. We will not be back.

Excellent brunch spot! Loved the Crab Dip, Eggs Benedict and Roasted Turkey Club. Both the Lobster Bisque and Country grits were off the charts. Put this one on your list !

Great place for brunch(Tuesday thru Sunday). The menu selection has something for everyone. The Texas Citrus is probably one of my(now) favorite brunch cocktail! There is usually a little wait time so we always take advantage of the time to shop in the surrounding boutiques. You won’t be disappointed.

We went there at 0930 this morning for breakfast. While there were empty table everywhere we were greeted warmly by one hostess and very rudely by the other ! Was asked do you have reservation my husband replied no didn’t know we needed one. Was then told curtly we only take reservation on Mother’s Day. My husband looked at us and said I guess we are eating somewhere else today ladies. As we were walking out the door, the rude hostess turned to the other and stayed loud enough for us to hear«what makes those people think they can come in here and eat on Mother’s Day without a reservation ?» So guess what we will not be spending our money there EVER again !!!

I wish they would bring back the Eggs with Corned-Beef Hash; that was my favorite on their original menu. But sadly; it is gone like a cool breeze in the summer. Other choices are still good, but that menu item would’ve bumped my review to a solid 4 stars. Expect to wait for a table at most breakfast or brunch times. Really good food, but easily some of the most expensive in a town known for high-priced food choices. I can only think of 3 pricier restaurants in town, and I don’t like them.

A year ago I would have given The Fatted Calf 5 stars, but within the past few months I have noticed a serious decline in their quality and overall customer experience. I’ve been here a few times and honestly I think the only things that keep me coming back are the coffee and the atmosphere. It’s a cute rustic little place, but the service is spotty and the food is way over priced for its quality. Tried it again yesterday, there was no welcome, took a good 5 minutes to be sat, then I was ignored. About 10 minutes later the server finally came to ask about a beverage. I asked her for a water no ice…10 minutes later I still don’t have it. Another server asked if I had been helped I told him I’m waiting on a water no ice. Few minutes later the lady returned with a water… with ice. Not a huge deal, just kind of annoying. Our waitress, Lisa, just seemed like she really didn’t want to be there. And I understand that being a server myself, I totally get that there are days when serving people is the last thing you want to do. However, it made for kind of an awkward experience — I started to feel guilty for asking for things from her.

Ok my first review was before I experienced their brunch… Oh me, oh my, oh. It’s good! Good enough to wait an hour good. My picky husband is a fan of the chicken and waffles. I’m an omelet kind of girl. I really really love the sweet potato pancakes. And I would love to drown myself in their grapefruit vodka/basil drink(can’t remember the name). 5 stars for breakfast. I had to dock them a point just because I don’t care for their dinner menu. Go! Run! Enjoy!

This place is in a major decline!!! After seeing some. of the bad reviews I now know our experience today is just what the place has become. Since opening we were loyal customers every week for breakfast… the last six time(six straight sundays) our food has come out wrong all the time. some days its the eggs and the kitchen not following directions. Our bacon has been undercooked almost every Sunday. Today owner/chef came to the table telling us the food was made correctly and argued with us on how it should taste. We live locally and have heard the chef is the reason for the huge employee turnover over the last year. We will not be going back

The menu options are great here for breakfast and my experience was better than last time. Again… my meal wasn’t perfect, but it looked great, so it should score some points for appealing presentation. My companions’ meals also looked great and they were happy with them. The service was attentive and the hostesses were friendly and accommodating. Near the end, our waitress sort of checked out… and we had to flag her down for a final coffee fill-up and the check. Overall, I would return. Still waiting for that perfect meal… maybe it’s those dietary-deal-breaker sticky buns!

Wow! Not sure why I’ve never been here yet. 1st time, party of 7. Brunch was fantastic! Homemade preserves for toast, excellent service. I had the special: brisket, eggs, jalapeño hash and toast. Great atmosphere. True gem.

Great food. I went the other day for brunch and had the breakfast sandwich sliders. They were excellent. Eggs were over easy and the bacon was thick. Decent coffee and decent oatmeal. Prices are a little steep for a brunch place, but what they deliver is worth it.

This place is definitely great for a date night! Tuesdays are burger and draught night. Very much liked my burger and the mashed potatoes with chicken fried steak is so good!

Came back for more! Don’t underestimate the chick and waffle. Huge portions and the chicken breast is juicy and very flavorful.

My girlfriend took me here this morning for brunch. Super cute restaurant. Now we went on a Friday so it wasn’t too busy but I can only imagine how packed it gets on the weekend and not to mention parking isn’t easy to come by. I got the Alamo(biscuit with sausage a egg and gravy poured on top, can I get a amen!) and my girlfriend got the biscuit gliders(basically a biscuit sandwich with bacon and egg!). We both gobbled up very happily :) I would defiantly come back again! Next time to try their chicken and waffles.
