after exchanging a few messages with the owner kristy on here she persuaded me to give them a try and i am glad i did as we had a very nice experience tonight. was busy on a friday night and very clean for the amount of poeple coming thru. one pet peeve i have about restaurants is sticky menus and condiment bottles which i was pleased to see they did not have. i have faith that if they can keep things like that clean(which are normally overlooked) that they must take pride in the kitchen as well. and the things that came of the kitchen were YUMMY! both hubby and i orded 2 sweet teas(pefectly brewed and sweeetened to our tastes) and a small basket of fried pickles to start with. i don’t know what kind of pickeles they use but the slices were huge and tasted more homemade that the rippled kind from a jar. i wish the breading stuck on more and they were a tad lessy greasy but you can’t beat the flavor of them-we just used forks and scooped the breading back up and dipped in the yummy ranch sauce it came with. ordered a small basket($ 2.10 or 2.30ish)and tho we tried we just couldn’t finish the last few slices. besides our dinners arrived and couldn’t wait to dive into came out so hot we had to break up the fish filets and wait for them to cool down-sides too! both of us got the all you can eat alskan white fish-$ 8.10 plus 2 sides and hushpuppies. we both got fries-i believe frozen since they were crinkle cut but still very good. most places i find undercook the crinkles but these had a nice golden brown on the edges just the way i like them. hubby also got the white coleslaw and he loved it-tried it myself and thought it was really good too-maybe homemade like the potato salad? my second side was the fried squash and the only complaint was that the server said the only sides that were all you can eat was cole slaw and fries:(very thin slices dipped in some kind of breading and fried crispy-almost like homemade potato chips. i would have been happy for a big plate of these for my dinner only-yummy!the fried fish was great too. firm filets with just right amount of coating to make it crispy without overdoing like other place where you feel like you have a mouthful of breading and no it was not greasy as i thought it might be. the tarter is real good too-not too tangy. each plate came with 3 good size pieces and with all the sides it was more than enough for me. but it was all you can eat and hubby ordered 2 more pieces which came out after about 5 mins just as good as the others. it’s not a fancy place but it’s clean, the prices are great(our whole bill including tax was only 23.00) and the food is yummy and the people who work there are very pleasant(our server asked if we wanted a to go cup with fresh tea-of course i said yes!)i was able to meet the owner kristy and talk with her for a bit. this place is her livelyhood and she takes great pride in it. i believe she has owned it since january and she explained to me about having to weed out the bad employees and getting everything back on track again and i think she has done a great job with it. if you like seafood and fried stuff i suggest you try here-you won’t leave hungry or unhappy!

On my second visit to Fry Daddy’s I observed a few things that well lets just say has turned this place from very good to well… not so good. The first thing is I noticed I guess 5 or 6 salads pre made wrapped under no refrigeration sitting on the counter waiting to be served. I heard one of the servers say” What should I do with these salads they are changing color?” WHAT? And I proceeded to watch the server take off the cucumbers and place them in another container? WHATINTHEHELLFOR? So I order two combination platters I had to get them to go so I get them home the seafood was sitting on top of the onion rings and fries and hush puppies separated by wax paper which made them drip with grease NASTY! Now why they could not have spent ½ cent on the use of another container? That shows me the care with the food and quality . Will I be back? Not sure to me if fried food is fried correctly it can be alot less greasy its bad enough that it is fried but, when I can ring out the onion rings form the grease no thank you!!!
