I called to place an order and was put on hold for 10 minutes. Poor service and poor staff.

At 2:00 on a Wednesday not many customers but we still have to wait 35 minutes for our food. A burger and a grilled chicken. Amazingly the food was not even very warm when it arrives. Was very expensive and they only take cash.

I watch the server pick her nose and wipe it on her apron. First name starts with a «A» salad sits out already made CASH only and… serve me a baked potato that was made six weeks ago. Please do do serve me food that you wood not eat.

Just left there after having lunch. Horrible. Chicken sandwich was a scandle. Lots of bread, very small amount of chicken…2/3rd bread. Fish nugget appetizer was all breading, salt and pepper. Where’s the fish? Slow service. No utensils provided. Never again.

They were busy so I thought that was a good sign. No staff. Literally two waitresses for the entire restaurant busting their buts!!! Cold food. Beans made with ketchup. Bland Bbq. Cash only Waitresses were friendly. To go cups and the ice was AWESOME. Clean. Wish I would have checked Unilocal first

Food is still good here, but number of wait staff on duty has dropped, thus the service has dropped. Tonight was busy and no one refilled our drinks while we were there(about 60 minutes). My salad came with a half inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. I ordered a baked potato but received fries. When I informed the waitress that I ordered a baked potato, she said«oh, we are out of baked potatoes», no sorry or visit to ask if I wanted something else. Also beware this place does not take credit cards or debt cards, but there is a ATM machine in the restaurant that will conveniently charge you a fee to get some cash.

This is a relatively new looking place, and big. They offer all 3 meals, 7 days a week. Besides BBQ, they have Seafood(including some All-You-Can-Eat items), the usual variety of Sandwiches & Salads, and Daily Specials ranging from Spaghetti to Prime Rib. The BBQ is tender, but comes unsauced and is dry, and bland. They offer 2 sauces, one vinegar based, one tomato based — the vinegar based helps, but it is a very mild sauce. This is not bad pork, but not nearly as tasty as a number of other places in this area offer. The regular Chopped Sandwich goes for $ 3.35. The Chili Dog was Ok, but like much of the hot dog chili in this area, the primary taste is sweetness. Their Foot Long costs $ 3.09, and is not one I’d order again. .

They say — or Michele O. says — that Charlotte has some good barbecue. What she probably should have said is that the ‘cue is much better in the surrounding area, rather than within the city limits, as while there is some decent meat inside the QC, once you get outside, it generally gets a bit better. So while we were outside said city limits, we decided to stop at Johnny’s, who happens to spell with a «q» rather than a «c», but you should not really hold that against them, since the meat itself is pretty tasty. One can forgive a misspelling when meat coma sets in. As with many ‘cue joints in the area, you will find both a vinegar and a much heavier tomato-based sauce(eastern and western, respectively, if you are keeping track at home). No mustard here, however, unless you look for the little packets, and that is not quite the same. Personally, I prefer the eastern style as it brings out the flavor of the meat, and the one here is tasty. The only real downside is that you may come away slightly disappointed in the portion size, plus you get nickel-and-dimed for everything. Want to try another side? You get a small portion, and then you get another charge tacked on for a roll. Be nice if you get larger sides and a roll when you order the platter. That is the point of getting the platter — to have plenty to eat — right?
