The good: food and service, good diner fare down here in NC. The bad: the place needs a good cleaning The ugly: flies, flies and more flies. Do something about it!!! Summary: I will go back

Nothing outstanding here. The service was friendly and knowledgable but there it ends. The burger was ordinary, the steak fries were not crisp. Ordered a milk shake with the meal, it was small but old style. If you are looking for diner food, this might suffice. If you are looking for good food, perhaps you should keep driving! W

Believe the hype — great place! Yes, it is simply a diner, but food was fresh and great, service was excellent and it is very inexpensive. The chicken tenders were freshly breaded all white meat chicken breast, the burger was cooked to perfection, the fries and onion rings were great. Highly recommended!

I ordered a chess burger with lemonade and banana cake, everything was tasty, the staff were great, highly recommended for whoever staying in nearby hotels, atmosphere would take you back to the 80 you got to go there.

What a waste of time. Wish had gone to Cracker Barrel or Waffle House. The service is sure to be better. The menu you see online is nothing like the one you get. STAYAWAY! I. m still waiting for my toast.

The onion rings are gross. Just prepackaged and thrown in hot oil. The club sandwich was decent, but I asked for no tomatoes due to an allergy, yet there they are. I picked them off. Friendly waitstaff. Wouldn’t go again.

Came here for dinner and breakfast while staying at the nearby hotel. Food was great! No complaints at all The service is great and the people are so friendly! Way nicer than my New England home town. Juicy burgers, great omletts and pancakes! A must try if passing thru. Try the orange-ade

We try to stop here each year on our way to Orlando from Virginia. Friendly staff and tasty diner food. You have to have the fried green tomatoes, especially in the BLT with pimento cheese! Breakfast all day and the pancakes are delicious. Skip the fast food and come here. Great service and good food.

Good food, great service. Only complaint is that it’s a little pricey for what you get

My wife went here for breakfast on the recommendation of a friend. We both were immediately put off by the smell(smell like old bleach rag water from washing the tables) when we came in but decided to give it a shot. The food was okay(we both got omelets) the hashbrowns were good(crisp and just enough oil so they were light) and the coffee was tasty. Our server was attentive and responsive. The atmosphere was a bit cheesy but it is supposed to be a ‘50s diner so I guess that it was spot on. It does look like they have a nice outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. I will say there were only a couple of empty tables when we were there so it is likely that this is a place that is loved by the local community.

I love this place! Every time we go there the food is excellent. I have only gone for breakfast, but everything else looks delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good, quick meal.

Stopped here on our roadtrip to NYC(5 min off I-95) to grab some late night food and it hit the spot. Food was cheap and exactly what we were looking for. Service was also very good, made us feel like locals. Stopped here on our way home for another great meal. Definitely check it out if you’re craving good diner food.

Try the construction burger if you want a messy good meal. Nick Boddie, one of the owners of Boddie Noell Enterprises, owned this place before his death. I remember my first time eating here as an EMT, some strange older man paid for our meal. I later found out who he was. Needless to say, the food is good but a business that supports it’s local public servants is a business I can stand behind. I’m no longer in public safety but still enjoy visiting this place for some good«dinner» food. It’s in great shape, kept very clean, and a good fun atmosphere.

We stopped at the diner for an overdue lunch & left with a full wallet & content bellies. I ordered the bowl of chili &, man, was it good! Piping hot & full of beans & ground beef, topped with diced onions & shredded cheese, it hit the spot. My sister & mother had a half BLT, French fries & the chili. The fries were also hot & fresh. My sister asked for a side of honey mustard to dip them & it was excellent! Tasted house made. The bill for the three of us was $ 17.68, so it is very affordable. The one complaint would be the sheer number of servers working. There were far too many & several were standing around while hot plates of food were set to wait under the warming window from the kitchen staff. By no means does this reflect poorly on the food itself though. This was merely an observation & a pet peeve of someone formerly in the restaurant industry. So if you’re ever hungry & find yourself in Rocky Mount, NC, head here! You won’t leave disappointed.

The first thing that struck me here was the awful smell. Had I not walked there from my hotel and been starving, I would have immediately run. The food was exceedingly mediocre and not up to the diner standards that I am used to. I am pretty sure everything I ate was frozen and then microwaved. The waitress was nice enough.

Stopped by on our way to the outer banks two weeks ago. A very charming set up with a classic diner feel. Food was exactly what you would expect it to be at an American diner. I got the cheeseburger with pimento cheese and fried green tomato which was very good! Parents had the meatloaf and spaghetti special, all good. Sister got the pimento cheese — as good as my burger! Service was a little lacking. You seat yourself, but we had to wait for a while for a server to finally make it to us with menus for us to peruse. Overall, a good experience though!

Nothing to brag about and nothing to really complain about! Just an average basic burger place with the typical commercial soul food dishes. None of the food orders stood out as anything special and none really popped as I was hoping. Waitress was ok, she didn’t go out of her way or do anything to assist anyone in the party. The waitress did just enough… just as the food was just enough… I do not see myself stopping again not going out of my way to stop at the diner ever again. I will say the décor is really snazzy much like the Cary location, but the food and service did not compare to that of the Cary, NC location…

Stopped for lunch on our way back from the Outer Banks. Arrived at 11:30 and found a small line waiting to be seated. We were seated in less than 10 minutes. This place was quite busy, but they handled it well. My guest ordered a cheeseburger, and I ordered Mom’s meat loaf with fresh fried chips and applesauce. Cheeseburger was a good size with choice of cheese, plus lettuce and tomato. Guest said she enjoyed it. Mom’s meatloaf was delicious! Enjoyed the flavor and the gravy with it. Fresh fried chips were good, and the applesauce was surprisingly good. My server didn’t know if the applesauce was made on premises or not, but it certainly didn’t taste like it was out of a jar. She did mention most foods were made there. If you are in the area, I highly recommend dining here.

If you’re headed somewhere on 95, a greasy spoon fan, and hungry– take a detour here for the BEST corned beef! It’s a throwback diner, shiny building, cutesy booths, signage… and when we were here– a real aluminum Christmas Tree!!! I had corned beef, eggs, and a biscuit. The corned beef was phenomenal– shredded, not cubed, flavorful, and just the right texture. I couldn’t decide if I wanted sweet or salty, so I also ordered a waffle with strawberry. The strawberry was your usual goopy sugary concoction, but it did have real strawberries in there. My husband had the steak and egg breakfast, and was equally pleased with his meal. We had drinks too– and our waitress filled us up to go cups before we departed for the road at our request. Her service was perfect all the way through. This may become a staple for our 95 bound journeys!
