These are absolutely the best grilled oysters I have ever eaten. Not dry and with a bit of heat, delicious! My wife and I both had ribeye steaks and they were both cooked perfectly. Much improvement from the first time I dinned here.

I ate here twice while on a business trip. On my first trip, I came in for lunch. I had to salmon BLT and side salad. It was a great sandwich and delicious! On my second trip, I had steak with goat cheese and herb crust with broccolini. It was a decent steak, but nothing special. I would rather have had the salmon BLT again rather than the steak. Probably one of the better(only) restaurants in Rocky Mount.

Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I ordered the brisket and half rack with mashed potatoes. The meat was so tender that I cut the brisket with my fork and the rib meat fell off the bones into my mouth. The sauce wasn’t spicy sweet like Texas, but it was tasty.

I like their drinks and atmosphere. Especially the pine drink, it’s very good priced. Like to see a neo classic restaurant like this in to my mount

A small but diverse menu of excellent food found halfway between NYC and Florida. We stopped for breakfast and enjoyed homemade sausage, great ‘French toast’ and a fine Bloody Mary. There is also a solid selection of beers for dinning later in the day.

So so. I’ve had both good and bad experiences here. The food is almost always great. Seems like the staff couldn’t care less sometimes about their job and it reflects poorly on LouReda’s. It is hard to choose here when it’s 50 – 50 at best to get a good waiter/bartender.

There was a group of teenage girls in the restaurant. Prob after their practice. They were so loud and it became unbearable as the night went on. We had to wait for 50 minutes before being served with our food and people came after us had almost finished their meal when we were just starting. We were never offered bread or anything. The waitress were very inattentive and never came to refill the water. The owner was talking to people who were dining and he skipped our desk. Literally, he talked to the table on our left and then right acting like he couldn’t see us. This would be the last time I visit this place. Food is overpriced too.

Never go wrong with Unilocal!Six hour ride and we looked this puppy up. Amazing food! I had the Merlot burger and my husband had the brisket burger. Service excellent! Atmosphere great! They even have the Redskins on for Monday night football. Moving to NC and this place is a keeper! Allen provided awesome service and steered us the right way! All of you folks driving down 95 that read this-get off the exit — you won’t be sorry!

Making our way back home to NY, this is the perfect stop over for«REAL» food, not the junk you get from rest areas. What a great find! The staff is so polite, the décor is fantastic, not too over the top but comfortable & funky. But let’s talk about the food! Fantastic! We arrived late at night so we weren’t trying to eat too much or too heavy. Started with Grandma’s meatballs — WOW! Just WOW! Being Italian, we’re very critical of meatballs & these did not disappoint! Wish we asked for 2 orders :-) The fusilli pasta with sausage & kale was freakin delicious! I’ll be dreaming of it! The flavors were amazing! Our baked chicken — to die for! So moist & cooked to perfection! Great wine & beer selection. Dessert was the topping on the cake! Bread pudding with bourbon sauce… can you say Heaven??? We will for sure be stopping here on any trip we have down south! Anyone in the area or travelling through should absolutely make a stop at this gem of a restaurant!

We’re back for our annual road-stop on the way back home and we are happy to report on the same quality here at LRs that we experienced one year ago. Great NC micros on tap in addition to some solid standards(New Belgium). We had the polenta fries to start-lovely steak-cut starters w/parmesan cheese and kale w/a honey vinegar dipping sauce. For mains, I ordered the scallops(four scallops w/a tomato ‘crème’ accompanied by broccolini and mashed ‘taters). The scallops were perfect. Co-pilot ordered the trout, on a bed of spaghetti squash and a parmesan ‘gravy’. Another hit. Nicely done and for sure we will make this a Thanksgiving tradition. See you next year!

OhYum OhYum OhYum I proclaim the truffle mac a destination dish on it’s own. This is an easy reason for Richmonders gas up the car and make the two hour drive to Rocky Mount. This side dish has flavor that will last a lifetime. It is hands down the best Mac and Cheese, and the best use of truffle in a cooked dish. My past truffle experiences in any form and in the hands of all others has been unpalatable. This one side dish has sideline a an exceptional lamb shank on an outstanding layer of kale on a island of Acorn squash purée. It was so amazing that the menu listing for Truffle Mac is faint fine print, visually overpowered by the entrée section title. Although easily missed in print it will shock and awe the palette.

Five stars for the ambiance and Mac and cheese(wow!) Brisket really isn’t my thing and I do think that it could be better … Maybe a little fresher and better meat? But then I’m only used to eating really fresh meat so I’m super picky However! The truffle Mac and cheese was so delicious and I don’t even like Mac and cheese unless I make it myself … I would really love to have the recipe since I don’t live anywhere near you guys :$?

As a guy making my way back to Phila from Hilton Head Island, I knew I was only stopping for food when I needed gas and fortunately the gas light kicked on at the right moment as I wasn’t going to be dining fast food or bobs big boy tonight! The reviews were awesome and the food didn’t disappoint. I started off with a Caesar salad with pink onions, capers and shaved parm cheese. Everything was very fresh and the pink onions really made an impression! Good flavors! I also had the angus beef merlot burger with Forrest mushrooms red wine onions and fontina cheese. While mine took longer to come to me, the manager informed me that they had over cooked the first one and were making a new one fresh for me. Way to own it guys, they did right by me and the wait was worth it. The burger was fabulous! The staff was extremely polite and everyone seemed to be enjoying their evening. As a highway traveller you have to try this place! It’s gotta rank up there as one of the best highway meals available and would stand up to any restaurant in it’s class anywhere! Truckers, there is a grocery store across the street for your rig if you want to try this place.

Looking for a different place to eat(rather than the usual haunts) while traveling on I-95. Thank you fellow Unilocalers for the reviews, this place is awesome! I had the Ribeye Sandwich with Salted Beets and Brussel Sprouts, and my friend had the Brisket — everything was fantastic! The Grapefruit Margarita(get it straight up) was divine! Service was also awesome! This is DEFINITELY worth driving an extra couple of minutes off the interstate! If you’re hungry and are near Exit 138, go there!

Had a great dinner here. The brisket was perfect. It was fatty and tender and didn’t need any sauce. The ribs were also delicious and the Brussels sprouts had a good amount of bacon and were quite good. The wedge salad was also amazing and I would definitely recommend it. Came here for lunch the next day also, and the food was good but the service was not. It took too long to get the check and considering I had a 3 hour drive ahead of me that was not appreciated. Still FTCF five stars just be weary if you’re in a hurry.

A good restaurant by any standard. I’ve lived in my different countries and cities, to say I’m picky is the understatement of the century. I had been disappointed by a string of Unilocal recommendations in the Outer Banks. This restaurant though is a treasure. I wish it was closer to where I lived because I would be a regular. The food is delicious! I ordered the steak salad medium rare and the steak was actually medium rare! The food was delicious and the presentation was good. But the service was what was really spectacular. Great attentive service without being pushy. Looking for a place to eat? Look no further my friend, you will not regret it!

This is one of those times that the reviews matched our dining experience exactly. We were on a stop-over from here to there and Unilocal came through. My wife had the Merlot Burger with a special sauce for the sweet potato fries that was fantastic. The burger was just right. My 10oz ribeye was perfect with matching caramelized onions and big sautéed mushrooms. The draft craft beer selection is solid with a Duck Rabbit Porter to wash down my steak. We finished with a chocolate-chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce for her and a bread pudding recommended by the server for me that was to die for. The server was attentive and when a large birthday party took her attention her coworkers supported her. Awesome teamwork. Five stars!

Delicious, a particularly nice surprise since we happened upon it on the road! Some highlights — the brisket is long-braised, falling apart and perfectly tender. The steak salad was deconstructed — a lovely dressed wedge and a nice pile of medium rare steak. Special shout out to Lou and Reda, who were very nice to get me a bag of ice for my recently-operated knee. I was able to elevate and ice in the car! Thank you!

Fine people. Fine food. Eight times I’ve eaten here. 8 X excellent. There is one(1) bad item on the menu: duck salad. It’s awful. Everything else is the absolute bomb. During your first visit, you must have the brisket. Only consider the brisket. It will set you free. Next visit, venture out to the Pasta carbonara with the prawns, chicken and scallops. That’s freaky good. On your third visit, you will have the salmon salad. Even tho you don’t care for salmon, you will enjoy the wild-caught salmon the way they cook it. On your forth visit, you will have the wings, for they are huge and you will therefore be stunned. A friend will insist that you try the meatball appetizer. You will be stunned and amazed. Ben will regale you with his encyclopedic knowledge of craft beer. You will find yourself. Back here. Again and again. Resistance is futile. Lou knows food. You do, too, now.

We stopped on our way through after reading the reviews. Place was clean, staff friendly and service prompt. We were a table of 4 with two kids. We started with the calamari and shrimp as well as pork belly. Both were fantastic and accompanied by complementary truffle pop corn which was delicious. Truffle is popular here and that made me happy. The kids meals looked great and received rave reviews from my 9 year old. The Brisket dinner with truffle Mac was terrific and the salmon cured BLT looked great. I have no reason to be here again but wish I did.
