If you have been to, or through Rocky Mount, you know that running out of gas could be a life or death situation. Don’t get me wrong, I have supported my fair share of stab and grabs, but I feel that the older I get, the wiser I become. Not too wise, I was dead on empty this past week, just as I was driving through Rocky Mount. My GPS steered me to some really scary places, and all made me have the heebee geebies, until I came across the Shell station. Not only did it look somewhat safe, it was being used by a fair amount of people. I also had to stop inside to grab a bottled water for my trek and the inside was even neat and clean. I went back outside, pumped my fair priced gas, and eased out of there before my «too good to be true» experience in Rocky Mount could come to a screeching hault. The only negative aspect was that a lot of the pumps were out of order so I did have to drive around and wait for a pump to be available, but again, in the scheme of things, not too bad of a situation to be in.
