Nice place, good selection, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and plenty of people hanging out playing games. I was just passing through town but I would totally make this a regular hangout. If you go looking for it, its easy to miss, though, as the location is kind of odd, though: they’re in a plain old office building like a dentists office or something. You would not find this place driving by. A sign outside would be benefit to them. Still, there were plenty of people inside when I got there.

In the past few years, I moved from the Bay Area of California back to Cleveland. I point that out because Oakland had one of the finest game stores I’d ever visited: a great place to window shop, a great place to buy, a great place to play. When I got to Cleveland, I checked out a few stores and, frankly, it made me almost want to drop out of the hobby. I *like* to frequent local game stores, but if the store is understocked, poorly staffed, overpriced or just plain messy(«boy smell» as my wife calls it), then I’ll just turn my dollars to online retailers. After nearly 3 years, I’d given up. Then I found Immortals Inc. I never saw their old location, but this newer location downstairs at the Park West building is just awesome. Well lit, clean, super-friendly and knowledgeable staff with no attitude, and great selection and fair prices. I’m more into role-playing games than boardgames and CCGs, so it’s not quite as heavy with RPGs as I’d like(true of the FLGS business in general these days). But they do have a good selection and, for instance, as a Wizards’ Première store, they got the new edition of D&D in weeks before Amazon or the store a few miles away. They’ll order anything, and they have a great frequent buyer program. And they have some fantastic events and spaces for play. I’m already in on a monthly D&D game that’s been a blast, planning on playing another RPG in a few weeks, and may even run one soon. Great store, great people. The FLGS is not dead!

Though it’s pretty hard to find, located on the second floor of an office building in central Rocky River, your quest will be rewarded with a truly awesome game store. It is very small(smallest I’ve ever been in? I think so) and it seems to me like they are still building inventory, but they have a variety of board games as well as TCG supplies. Their MTG inventory is pretty deep and they have a very well organized collection of commons(5 cents, woohoo!) and uncommons to rifle through. They have a number of trade/sell binders(it’s amazing that they can fit that many binders behind such a tiny counter) organized by price and color, and a well-kept display case with their best stock. The store is seriously spotless(this is important for me) and everything is organized well. They carry all of the latest sealed product from MTG as well(boxes, fat packs, boosters, event/intro decks), at the very least from the current set and a few things from the preceding sets as well. Everyone who works there is awesome, too. Sadly, I have yet to attend one of their events but it seems like they need more customers, so try them out!
