Lefty Gomez Field is the center of our little town. Our children played ball here, now our grandchildren are playing. This field is the pride of Rodeo. Its where the community comes to mingle. Everyone knows everyone. Our baseball field is not just a place to play ball, it is place to feel a belonging. There are 3 fields. One in front with lights for night games. The other two are in the back. The smallest field for the little ball players is in the corner of the larger back field. The snack bar is open during all baseball games. The Recreation Hall is available for renting, equipped with a full kitchen. We personnally have had from Wedding receptions, birthday, meetings and last services held here. It also serves as a voting poll facility during elections. We have slow pitch softball for both CO-ED and Men. This field serves not only a place to play ball but its serves as our place to socialize. Opening Day is tomorrow 3÷8÷14. Come walk with us down Parker Ave toward the baseball field. The parade will be led by our finest firefighters, sheriff and community leaders.

Nice monumental plaque dedicated to Lefty Gomez, resident of Rodeo who played for the NY Yankees in the 1920’s, helping them win several World Series. They even have his left hand print encased in cement. There are two little league baseball fields, one is kept nicely for league games, the other one is old and not as nice but still large. There is also tennis courts here, but they’ve recently converted these to 2 basketball courts. I’ve never been inside the community center but I think they have senior classes there and it can be rented out.
