This place is a diamond in the rough. Laid back and inexpensive, this is real deal Italian. They have a small wine list, and entrees are nice portions that include small salads. The servers are sweet and attentive, and the owner is on hand to answer questions and make suggestions. My husband and I stopped in tonight without any expectations since this is located behind a Burger King in the middle of nowhere, but we were pleasantly surprised. Next time we’re traveling, we’ll stop in with our kids. They’ve got some great deals on pizzas, and we can’t wait to try!

I stumbled upon this spot off of SCI26W exit 28. It’s easy to miss because it’s behind the Burger King. My colleagues and I partook of the lunch buffet which was only $ 7.95. They offered fresh salad, grilled veggies, 4 entrees(including a seafood pasta and a yummy lasagna), pizza, garlic knots and dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My colleague also ordered lentil soup which she describes as exceptional with good spices served at the appropriate temperature. The pizza was fair in that the crust was bland and the sauce was rationed; ask them to warm the pizza in the oven and its worth it. The cheesecake was light and creamy, and served with a chocolate drizzle. Still, it’s good value for your money and the service was good.

The sauces looked exactly the same across all dishes. Was hoping for a hole in the wall mom and pop place and instead got truck stop Italian. Open a can of spaghettios instead. Also waitress had RBF.

Great NY Italian food in nowhere SC. Right off the Intestate. Great gravy. Yummy parmagiano’s using real veal or chicmen. No made up chicken food patties here. Go for a differeny place to eat or if yr hungry on the road. Service is quick & friendly. Best pizza around, too

Alla Puttanesca is situated behind Burger King on Hwy 221(across the road from Waffle House) and in front of a semi-truck parking lot. If you’re not looking for this little gem, you will miss it! My family decided to eat at AP instead of fulfilling my craving for a Whopper Jr., so we pulled into their parking lot. I was initially a little nervous because the building is covered with neon signs and the parking lot was scarce. However, they had a 99DHEC rating. We were greeted with smiles the moment we walked in. The restaurant is clean, the bathroom is clean, and the staff is very friendly. Our family of four ordered pizza, spaghetti, and a dinner special. The food is delicious! This is now one of our favorite ‘hidden’ spots to eat because of the wonderful service, flavorful food, reasonable prices, and its never crowded(which may change if the word gets out). Cons: Insignificant location. Look into their Sunday special, great for church lunches!

We attended this restaurant, Wednesday, June 11th, around 4pm, for my birthday celebration. We had never been but were encouraged by the good reviews. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Our server, Emily, was one of the worst waitresses I’ve ever seen. She didn’t know the menu, couldn’t pronounce the foods, couldn’t explain the difference between the calzone and stromboli and wouldn’t ask, she topped our drinks off once, and seemed more concerned with flirting with the male staff than doing her job. The food was bad, it probably would have been better if we had ordered a pizza which is their specialty. It was a terrible calzone… very little filling and mostly tough dough. My son ordered chicken tenders off the kids meal, only to be served leftover chicken filets from another dish. They were heavily breaded in Italian herbs and fried at least twice. The TVs were blaring Judge Judy, which brought about explaining to my 4yo son what a «baby daddy» is. The only time I saw life from our waitress(who stared at us from the counter she leaned on the whole meal, not 8 feet away) was when she wanted to talk us into dessert. We travel for a living, and my husband and I agreed, it was the very worst service we’ve ever received. The. Absolute. Worst.
