Poor Richard’s is one of my favorite stores in downtown Rogers. When my wife and I used to walk from 3rd street to downtown on the weekends, we’d almost always stop here and at The Rabbit’s Lair” when it was next door. Poor Richard’s keeps with the style of the old buildings both inside and out, and it has some really nice pieces from local artists. It’s probably the best store for local art outside of Eureka Springs. At first things may seem a little pricey, you have to remember that you’re not in Wal-Mart, and the pieces are not only well-made but also crafted by local hands who are just trying to make a living doing what they love. Knowing that, the prices are fare. I especially love their pottery pieces they have in there sometimes. I think I own three of them! Something really cool is checking out the building itself. If you go behind the counter on the left side of the store, you can find small drawers for old herbs and remedies. It’s pretty cool. Four stars! If I lived in NWA still, I’d go there tomorrow morning!
