John F Unguren, DDS

Dr. John F. Unguren is a great dentist. There, review done!
Just a little background info about my experiences with him, you ask? Okay.
He has been my primary dentist for twenty years. He has replaced nine fillings over those years upgrading them all to either 7^th or 8^th generation composites. He replaced my first crown years ago, and added my second crown just this year.
I have a lifelong practice of getting a teeth cleaning every three months. Most of those were done at Dr. Unguren’s office by one of his expert RDHs [registered dental hygienist]. That means I’ve had about eighty cleanings at his office. Every one of his RDHs over the years has ultra-​sonically cleaned, scraped, and polished my pearly whites meticulously and always with friendliness and kindness. Tracy is his current RDH. Just had a cleaning today! Love her!
Today, I joked with Tracy saying that I wish that teeth cleaning was offered at the high-​end spas I go to, because it is actually pleasurable for me. Imagine, a massage, facial, steam bath, salt wrap, mani/​pedi, and teeth cleaning!
Whenever I need X-​rays, teeth impressions made, or actual dental work done by Dr. Unguren, one of his many RDAs [registered dental assistant] has been there to support me. I’ve known them all. His current RDAs are Gretchen and Rebecca. They are a pleasure to work with. They are expert at what they do and very friendly and sweet, the both of them. Love ‘em!
Another RDA is Jill, who helped me select and ordered my Opalescence teeth whiting kit (melon flavor) recently. She is very professional, understanding, and kind. There is definitely a pattern here.
No successful medical practice is possible without a crack office manager and staff. Nancy, the crack office manager, fits that bill perfectly. Emily, the crack billing, appointment scheduling, front desk person, fits that bill nicely as well.
Then there is John Unguren, DDS. I have very high expectations from every provider of any kind that I ever utilize. Dr. Unguren is a meticulous, obsessive, perfectionist dentist, as much as I’ve ever had. As if you can tell, that works for me.
He is also a sensitive and kind man, smart as a tack, always with a smile. I bump into John at restaurants periodically and he is always happy to greet me and talk a little. For that matter, he and I have had many at length talks during my treatments over the years. I have enjoyed every one of them.
John is always going to dental conferences, workshops, and keeping up with the latest education, products and technologies available to the modern dental profession.
Dr. John F. Unguren is a great dentist.

Dr. Unguren is AMAZING! I had struggled with a discolored filling on my front tooth along with a chip in the other for many years. Dr. Unguren took the time is discussing the process with me and we decided on a plan to whiten them first before going in and putting the new composite in place. A couple weeks later I went in and Dr Unguren spent a lot of time with me to insure that it was the way he wanted it and looked the best (as he’s a perfectionist). He even re shaped them as one of the teeth went slightly over the other in the front. I can’t tell you how happy I am with the results and can’t stop smiling to see my new look! Thank you Dr. Unguren and your amazing staff, I couldn’t be happier!!!

Must be the most expensive dentist in the county … Watch your money… Over $ 2000 for a crown?

I’ve been going to Dr. Unguren for about ten years now. He is truly a joy to have as a dentist. He and his staff are always friendly and efficient. Aside from being a great dentist, Dr. Unguren is also a genuinely insightful guy! It’s not bad reclining in the chair when talking to him (or grunting if your mouth is under construction). Passionate, talented staff.

Dr. Unguren is so clean, so meticulous and so good at what he does. He always takes his time with each patient to ensure that they are satisfied and well taken care of. He has a way of making patients feel at ease, even if they are terrified of going to the dentist. He’s very friendly and personable and seems to have a great relationship with his staff. I’m constantly impressed with his work.
