Shimmer Just Nails

this is not acceptable. I have only had my nails for one week by day one everything was already peeling. the gems were falling. it’s really upsetting that I even texted the person who does my nails and didn’t not get a single response I even sent her a picture of my nails I’m so embarrassed and for the price of 58 $ It’s was definitely not worth it I’m so upset. I had been looking for a place to go to because all the nail places I go to seems to never give me what I want. I went into Shimmer and absolutely loved the work that was done on my nails. They cane out amazing! I will defiebelty go back. Its been 2 weeks since I got them done and they are still going strong!

Desirae is incredible! She’s been doing my nails for years and every single time they are pure perfection. I get more compliments on my nails than I can count! The salon is beautiful, organized so nicely and CLEAN!!! All the girls who work here are so sweet and do some amazing nail art! I lived in LA and they do better nails at Shimmer than at any salon I went to there. I cannot recommend this place enough. They’d get 10 stars if I could!

If you’re into nail art, and I mean Really art, this is the place to be. I’ve been to other salons and had nice manicures, but none of them could do more than basic artwork.
I had this idea in my head for a Harry Potter inspired manicure and started looking online for artwork. I found some really awesome stuff, but knew that none of the salons I’d been to would be able to accomplish it. Then a friend showed me Shimmer Just Nails’ Facebook page. I was floored at the stunning works of art these ladies were capable of!
I called ahead and was lucky enough to get an appointment a week later with Alexa.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as some of the reviews here have said that the atmosphere of the salon was a bit catty. I found the opposite was true! Everyone was very inviting and I felt immediately comfortable, despite my being a bit older than most of the girls there.
When I sat down with Alexa she asked what I was looking for and I showed her some pictures. She said she’d try her best. We talked basic color scheme and started to work her magic! To say that I’m thrilled with the results would be an understatement! She was able to create real art on a tiny scale. I scheduled my next appointment, as well as one for my teenage daughter before I left.
A few things to keep in mind:
This is a very busy salon. You MUST CALL AHEAD!
They don’t have a dedicated receptionist. The girls answer the phone while they’re working with clients. (at least this was my experience, please someone correct me if I’m wrong) They do there best and are perfectly polite.
Very long story short, amazing work, fun staff and glittery atmosphere!

I went to quite a few nail places before landing here. Personally I was tired of paying good money and the nail techs acting like they don’t understand me and not doing what I want. Plus takeing hours. This place does cost a little more but the quality difference is huge. Great quality. The fanciest nails I have ever seen. Foils studs gems glitter! I said what I wanted and that’s what I got. I don’t get all the bad reviews, cuz the girls here are fun. I just love this place I’m hooked.

I was referred to Desirae by my sister. She went above and beyond and will never disappoint! Also she is super outgoing and fun!

Amazing! The nail art they do is by far the best I’ve ever seen and had done. I have my engagement party coming up and Elise did my nails. With all the ideas and pictures that I brought she took her time and made them look perfect. I’m in love!!!

This place is very cute, my nails were done excellent and exactly how I wanted them. It is a little too pricy for me, $ 55 for an all glitz set or $ 70 of you want a better shape than squared like stiletto or almond. My lady was funny and was doing everything I wanted plus some which I appreciated. The only thing that I didn’t like much was that I like to talk with my nail lady especially because she was so cool but she kept yelling across and having conversations with the other nail ladies, I’d say at least half the time, and cut me off a few times. But otherwise, great nails.

A pleasant personality on the phone is key to a business; with that in mind they should fire whoever it is that answers their phone.
I’ve called twice as a new customer attempting to make an appointment even though it is a bit of a drive for me. I think I spoke to the same woman. First time was towards the end of the day and I was told I would need to call the following day because they were closing. Clearly she was out the door and I had the audacity to detain her. Today she was snippy and kept shouting at me that she couldn’t hear me and that I was cutting out. Well, I“m not surprised she couldn’t hear me it was tremendously loud in her shop (hopefully indicating people were having a good time) and since I was calling from a land line at work, I would suspect it was her phone that was cutting out. Either way, a terrible impression. Too bad, I was looking forward to the artwork, but it’s the principal. I will not call a third time.

Nicole is awesome. I’ve seen her since 2009 & she’s never let me down. Before her I’d always gotten regular acrylics where they nail polish over & by the time I got to my car the polish was already dinged.
Every set of nails from her is a custom work of art. I’ve never had them lift & the one time I needed to push out my fill– they still looked amazing & didn’t lift!
When I’m out & about I can always tell who has their nails done here.

I’m constantly entertained by the ladies here. I love this place. Kat does an awesome job!!! I’ve been coming here for over a year and will never go anywhere else!!! Thanks ladies for the entrainment while I get my nails done!!!

My daughter is a fashionista! Getting her nails done is a luxury, however, when we do … It HAS to be shimmer! They use high quality products that last longer than anywhere else we’ve tried. My sights favorite technition is Monique, I have tried several different manicurist and they have all been delightful. The ladies are friendly and creative! The 3D nail art is amazing! The salon is decorated in a classy, trendy and elegant style with a hint of glitter.
Just a side note — call before you go; they are a busy salon with steady customers.

This is the place for nails! Paid $ 55 and it was worth it. Jenny was great & I have to say the nails I saw Desiree do were amaze.

Well, hello there trendy nail art technician! I know this place overall does good work, just from the pictures that are on display in the lookbooks in the salon and from what I’ve seen, however my experience wasn’t what was expected.
I hadn’t had my nails done in a while since I recently moved to the bay area, so I went off of a recommendation from one of the gals who works at Ulta in San Rafael. I went in without an appointment since technically I was on the same end of the bay. That day it was rainy and cold, but I drove about 30 minutes anyway because I was so enamored with the deigns I saw on this girl. After getting my nails done, I regret to say I was not as impressed as I should have been. I won’t name names, but one of the newer nail techs was just that, new. I could tell she was a bit nervous handling my nails, and recommending different design ideas. Now, when I lived in Sacramento I had a standing appointment with Kathy at Top Coat for yeaaaaars. I am used to a veteran just taking control of the appointment once I throw a few ideas out there. The nail art I chose I liked, but my nails looked like they were already a week old (as the polish was too far away from the cuticle). Then, after a week, my polish began to completely lift off the nail. I was suuuuuper disappointed as I could not justify driving 30 – 40 minutes just to get a nail repaired (and complain — you can’t just complain and not be willing to go back in), but I should not have had to think that way in the first place. It’s a pain to write a bad review, so I will say this: if you know you have newer staff, you should possibly let your walk-​ins know so they have the choice to sit in that nail techs chair or not. They do this at hair salons and barbershops, so this should be adopted at nail salons as well. Also, I believe in order to leave a good impression a customer needs a good experience. My nail tech was as sweet as a button, but the technician sitting next to us had a customer who spoke foul language and was ok with having a conversation about taboo subjects using her «outside voice». I think a «hey, now you know you can’t talk like that in here» would have been just fine to nip that in the bud. Just a thought.

Best nail salon. Friendly and clean. They have anything you can think of including 3D art. I tell everyone to go here.

Best nail salon I’ve ever been to. I’ve been seeing jenny for 4 years now! AMAZING!!!

My manicurist Ashly was very sweet but new and did not give me a good set. The smile wasn’t clean and didn’t put much glitter on the tips. Over all it wasn’t worth 55 dollars I noticed this when I got home but refrained from calling because she was new .
While there however some of the manicurist were just talking and talking about their customers and laughing about them. Very unprofessional and rude. I’m Taking my business else where, there is plenty of nail salons in the area and Santa Rosa..

I loved my first visit here. I was a little late but Desirae was so sweet and totally understing. Totally fun atmosphere, definitely what I wanted in a nail shop. & if you want designs this is the place for you! She did exactly what I wanted, and didn’t gripe about all my special requests. Best of all eveyone speaks English! Best part of all, I look forward to going back. Best nail shop ive been to by far.

I’ve been coming here for over a year now & every experience has been pleasant! I love the way Lindsay does my nails they come out great everytime and I always get compliments on her work :-)
