3 ½ Stars Sunrise Park has more to offer than just tennis courts. It has a baseball/softball field with bleachers, basketball courts, a full size soccer field with lighting, a children’s playground complete with numerous apparatus and a number of park benches, picnic tables and barbeques too. Lots of grass everywhere and decently maintained and green. It is a fairly large park compared to the dozen or so other parks in the City of Rohnert Park. I like to ride my bike around the perimeter of the park and sometimes inside it too. Sunrise is just a few blocks from my house, so it is very convenient. Last year one of my massage trade buddies set up a massage spot for us on the lawn, near some trees, and she gave me a wonderful therapeutic massage at Sunrise Park. Nice, huh? True that the tennis courts and other parts of the park are in some relative state of disrepair. But then so are the city streets and many other city services due to lack of money. No city in any state is exempt from budget challenges and having to cut costs in Parks & Recreation is usually first. I’m just glad I have a nearby park to go to. .. and to enjoy! Review 0101

There are 4 public tennis courts at this location. The have lights. See attached picture for buttons to turn them on. As of summer 2009 I don’t recommend these courts at all. The surface is cracked and the ball can bounce funny. I guess the only benefit to these courts is that they’re rarely used(likely because they’re in such bad shape), so you can get a match in, if all other courts in the area are taken at the moment.
