Instructor talks way too much. I literally has a headache from her voice. Do not recommend.

One of the better bikram yoga studios out there, and I have been to several across the country. I was greeted by a very friendly staff who made sure I had everything that I needed, and even asked about where I practiced previously since I was visiting from out of town.
The locker room was large and spacious, with cubbies instead of lockers (which I don’t mind).
The room had carpet, how bikram is supposed to be practiced! The instructor Carla was very friendly and nice and took time out to speak to me afterwards and encourage me to come back again, which I plan to!

A great Bikram yoga studio that I highly recommend. The owner and staff of teachers are friendly, helpful, and attentive to their students. The facility very nice, and clean, both in the studio and the restrooms. All-​in-​all, this was a great experience for me. The only reason I cannot call this studio my home is because of distance (I am much closer to another studio). However, should I ever move to this area, you can be sure I will be here daily. I had a great experience at Bikram Yoga Rolling Meadows. I went twice, once with Stephanie and once with Carla as our teachers. Both are very experienced. If I am in the area in the future, I will come again.

As you walk into this unfriendly rule zone you will realize that there is something very wrong with this yoga studio. I decided take a class 2 days ago for their summer promotion. During the sequence I decided to do my own version the of triangle pose. Not very different from Bikram’s style but slightly more heart opening. I am very familiar with hot/​Bikram/​etc. As I was in my asana Carla (the owner) told me never to come back. LOL! Well, this definitely isn’t yoga. Apparently these non yogis should go back to the drawing books and read their yoga sutras.
When you barely have anybody showing up to classes and are telling people to leave just because they are doing something slightly different you have a serious problems. #controlfreaks #egomaniacs #nonyogis

so my first class at this studio was on the 13^th of may with Carla. shes wonderful and teaches a great class. unfortunately she is one of those yoga instructors that calls out poses and doesnt actually do the poses. knowing i was new at this and just started yoga recently back in California, it would have been helpful to have been able to watch my instructor for correct pose position rather than the students. To me, this is more like «directing traffic» than actually being a teacher who teaches. Then on Friday, i took a class with a male, European instructor, (do not recall his name), I knew immediately he has an air of «arrogance» and tried to push his beliefs onto the class. This male instructor started out the class by preaching that «we» shouldnt try yoga because our friends are doing it or because theres a «Groupon», but because we want to. I think personal beliefs should be kept personal. And a Groupon to take an activity sometimes leads a person to find out that a certain activity is for them which they might not otherwise have tried if without that Groupon. And isnt that what Groupon is all about? So as im doing a pose, my leg wasnt perfectly locked and straight. I hear my instructor repeatedly telling the class to «lock the knee.» I realize he is directing his comment towards me. But being new to this, i continue on with my «not so perfect stance.» Then «he» comes over, directly next to me, and says ON HIS MICROPHONE HEADSET, «THIS IS WRONG, THIS IS REALLY WRONG, THIS IS REALLY, REALLY WRONG, THIS IS WRONG!!!» I remove myself from the pose and say, «So just pick me out of the whole class and embarrass me!» At that point, im not only embarrassed but angry. soI gather my things and leave. As i wait for my cab to arrive, i wrote a brief letter of the embarrassment he has caused me and offer a better way of how he might have talked to me. About 30 minutes later, he walks out of the yoga room and asks, «are you okay?» I say «No, im mad at my teacher.» And try to explain there is a better way to use your words when trying to get your point across. He wants nothing to do with what i have to say and as he is walking away from me, he says arrogantly, «Im not apologizing for my behavior, im apologizing for the way you reacted.» Shocked at his ignorant comment, i just laughed within myself because i realize this is a person that is so self-​absorbed and extremely arrogant! Also, he is another teacher that basically is «directing traffick» and not actually teaching yoga poses. The yoga studio itself is very nice and a moderate size. But my instructor found it necessary to use a «headset» to call out poses and walk about the room with a judging look of expression on his face. All the while while playing with some type of large blue stringed «beads». i could understand a headset if we were in a large auditorium or there was loud music, but the headset was not needed here and it was loud and annoying. When i spoke with Carla (the owner) this morning (May 16^th). It didnt seem to bother her that i felt «bullied» by the instructor because he couldnt quite get me to do the pose the exact way he wanted me to. I asked for a partial refund of the $ 39 month trial cost, minus the one class ($ 17), and Carla informed me i signed a waiver and i guess im not entitled the remaining funds. So, beware of this European yoga instructor that bullies you into doing the yoga pose exactly like he asks or you might be ‘BULLIED” too. And i guess this yoga studio must be desperate for money because i feel i was due the
return of the $ 22 since i did not complete the month trial period. And from what i read-​other teachers have bullied students too.

Excellent studio. Fantastic instructors. Clean studio and facilities. I’ve been to a quite a few studios around the country and feel that Bikram Rolling Meadows is among the best.

Eight months after writing my original review, I was contacted by the studio’s owner (s), apologizing for any miscommunication and advising me that Amazon Local had a special if I was interested in returning to the studio. To say I was insulted was an understatement.
I have since found a different studio to practice and will not be returning to the Rolling Meadows location. It’s a shame because one of my favorite instructors teaches classes there, and I would love to attend one of his classes. Unfortunately, they will not receive my business.

I have been practicing all forms of yoga in different parts of the country over the past three years and I have never had more of a horrifying experience than I did at this studio. The studio itself was clean and looks beautiful, but what happened in the studio literally brought me to tears. The teachers unbelievably rude comments would never end. She was constantly making negative comments. I will flow on my mat how I want to. If my back hurts while doing a certain pose, no I will not hold it longer than I can stand. I was told to stop wiping the sweat out of my eyes even though it was burning. Time and time again I was pick out by name and told to follow the class. As far as I know, I was doing everything that the other students were. She never stopped talking. At times she sounded like an auctioneer. I am not completely bashing this studio as a whole, but I will NEVER GO BACK TO HER CLASS! For everyone’s advice, a teacher is there to guide you, not humiliate you and force you to do things that you do not want.

Let’s be straight: not many workouts make me happy. Running? Sure. Why not. Eliptical? OK. However, I genuinely look forward to going to hot yoga at this studio. Seriously … I look forward to it. I especially enjoy Chris’s classes — I just like his style, so I’m always happy when I show up and see him at the desk. Carla, who is the owner, has been so nice and helpful whenever I have questions. If you’re considering trying hot yoga or a new studio, stop considering and get on it. Bikram Rolling Meadows will become your new favorite place to spend 90 minutes getting sweaty.

I’m new to yoga and I became hooked after I bought my unlimited monthly pass from Groupon. At first I thought the class was easy but each time you go the teacher gives clues on how to gradually get into the correct posture to get the full benefit. Now after each time I practice I feel exhausted and accomplished. It’s a great feeling when you are able to lift your legs a little higher in locust or finally balance in toe stand. Overall I have more energy, feel relaxed and less stressed out. The teachers are all very friendly and helpful but Erin & Maria have really helped me improve these past few months. I’m so happy I looked over one day driving down Rt 53 and saw the sign!

I’ve been practicing yoga and hot yoga for about a year but never tried Bikram. A friend of mine convinced me to buy an amazing deal on Groupon for Bikram Yoga Rolling Meadows. I attended my first class with Maria, she was super helpful and is a fantastic instructor.
To be honest with you I did not enjoy my first class because of the heat but I kept going back, and believe it or not, you eventually get used to it and feel more comfortable. You just have to stick to it past 2 – 3 classes. I’ve since taken classes with Carla and Jim on a regular basis, they are fantastic instructors as well.
The location is perfectly located off the highway with plenty of parking!

This is the nicest Bikram studio I’ve come across. It’s very clean, well decorated, and has a comfortable atmosphere. I’m very happy to do my practice here.

BRM =Bossome!!!:) Only being a yogi for 6 months, I’ve been lucky enough to practice at a handful of studios in the NW burbs. Among these studios, BRM stands out among the rest!!!
This studio is clean, clean oh and… oh yea, did I mention, clean???:) Having practiced at a few studios, cleanliness is something I look for, it says a lot about a stuido and the pride they take in their temple (thought Bikram is not a religion, but only a tool in which we can use in our lives, however one sees fit). The environment here conveys centeredness and authenticity, that can sometimes be difficult for other studios to convey due to the sometimes competitive element that can be emphized, depending on the studio, it’s owners and the people that attend.
The locker rooms are spacious and there is water available that shows you how many water bottles have been saved, kinda cool helping to advocate green awareness and making one feel like their contributing to this cause :) The crèam de la crèam feature is the teachers and how they share the lineage of their knowledge and teachings of not only Bikram, but of thousands of years of teachings with each student that practices at BRM.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be witness to the evolution of BRM and have seen no matter how many students attend, each teacher is truely authentic in the art of teaching by leading each student with a balance of firmness and compassion (I think this combo is essential for any evolving student). No matter if your old, overweight or havent practiced in awhile, its never to late to practice Bikram!!!:) My only suggestion is, perhaps a designated place to clean our mats???
*My only tip is, Bikram is what you make it, it’s a tool that we can use with our vechicals in order to reach higher states of awareness within our lives.

I just tried a few times hot yoga, a great benefit to me, my body was very tight before, now much flexible. It was very hard first time, but if keep doing it, you will find it get easier. A great way to relax your body.
The studio is clean, nice and big, enough room for many people.
Love it, but hot yoga is expensive, it is only thing hold me back.

No down dog or child’s pose in this yoga studio! Get ready for «the awkward pose», lotus, tree and 23 other poses… that would complete the 26 standard bikram yoga poses.
The Bikram Yoga sign is visible from 53 on the back of their building. Entrance is around the front. Leave your shoes at the door! In the bathroom there are 4 nice clean showers and an open changing room with a cubby hole shelf unit to stow your belongings. Not a big fan of the complete lack of privacy or not having my purse locked in a locker, but by the end of class I was too hot and sweaty to care about anything except a shower!
Arrive a few minutes early to enter the «hot room» and lay on your mat to adjust to the steamy 105 degree temp. Good thing there is not a clock in there because being a first timer to bikram there got to be a point when I just kept wondering how many minutes I had left!
The hot room is really nice… mirrors all around and some kind of velvety soft yoga carpeting. I had class with Maria today and while she does not demo the poses, she pointed out the seasoned bikram yogis so that I could find a good spot to watch the moves and follow along. Maria explains every move and encourages and pushes you to follow through. She is an expert!
CLASS SEQUENCE:
— Breathing/​warm up (15 ish minutes)
— Standing poses (30 minutes)
— Seated poses (40 minutes)
— Breathing/​savasana (5 minutes)
That is kind of how it worked! So at least you will know that you are approximately half way through class once you begin the seated poses. Really, you can do this! It’s hot, but it is manageable. I signed up for the new student 14 consecutive days for $ 24 plan. I am ready to go back… feeling like I had a great work out today! Just FYI, I did drink my entire 24 ounce water bottle during class and since being home I seriously can not stop drinking water. WATER!!!
There is a water bottle refill fountain in the hall between the locker rooms!
