Unprofessional, impolite, rude. Was price matching, decided to go with another company given the so-​so reviews on Unilocal,and the the guy on the phone became very rude.

Absolutely terrible to deal with in every way. These movers damage your property and will not stand behind their damage claims. Combative and extremely poor customer service. Keep shopping. There are many reputable movers out there!!!

MOVING DAY REVIEW:
The packers, Paul & Brian, were absolutely awesome! They were very friendly, talkative (enjoyed my conversations with Brian), and respectful of our belongings. They arrived early at 7:50 am when our appointment was for 8:00 am. In order to pack my two bedroom, two bathroom condo it took them three hours. They were very thorough and wrapped everything carefully. When I mean thorough, they wrapped items inside other items and took special care of picture frames, mirrors and large items (i.e. TV, kitchen table, couch). They followed my Post-​It Note legend of what to not pack. I’m anal and organized like that — and they appreciated it :). Each and every box was labelled with a sticker and itemized by writing on the box the contents. With this treatment, I don’t plan on packing my own items ever again!
The moving truck was schedule for 10 am. I called at 10:15 am and mentioned that the truck had not arrived. The company returned my call saying that the truck was tied up elsewhere and would be coming between 12 – 1 pm instead. 1 pm came and the owner of the company called apologizing with a promise that another truck was on it’s way to our condo to pack everything up by 2 pm. At exactly 1:55 pm the truck pulled up. The poor crew was exhausted and slower than they probably were earlier in the day. Yet, the move carried on as my partner offered beverages. I had to already begin the drive to my first stop in Minnesota. It took 2 hours to pack all the boxes into the truck.
DELIVERY ARRIVAL DAY REVIEW:
The Mayflower truck could be tracked by the driver checking in along the route via their website. This was a nice touch to watch my belongings on their cross-​country journey. Unfortunately, we were the last stop on the delivery route after passing through other cities on their way north into Seattle. With this said, they were a day later than the estimated arrival date.
The driver Dave and his two delivery helpers, Blaise and George, made up for the late delivery. They maintained a positive attitude during the move-​in and had endless energy that made me jealous. I stayed with the truck and accounted for each and every box/​item that came off the truck with a numbered checklist. My partner instructed them upstairs on the 6^th floor, where the furniture was being assembled (a king-​sized bed frame, large sofa, and kitchen table). The entire move-​in took 3 hours, yet since we moved in to a place without an outdoor patio, we required them to make a second stop at a storage facility we had rented out 5 minutes away to drop off the grill, outdoor furniture and holiday decorations. They were more than willing — and I provided a generous tip for this extra trip.
Best part, NOTHING WAS BROKEN AFTER TRAVELING 2,000 MILES! Thank you team for working together.

If I could go less than one star I would! Stay AWAY, FAR FAR AWAY! Mayflower is owned by the same company as United Van Lines so United set up for the Mayflower guy to come and give me a quote. He seemed reputable. Richard Burin has been nothing but trouble and I don’t believe I have been dealt with honestly. First, a get a quote that was much higher than that of my boyfriend, same company but he had a LOT more stuff to move than I did, but it is short notice so I go with them.
Since the quote was so high, I shed myself of nearly all my furniture and I get another quote more than a $ 1000 less. That is good. I am promised 50 free boxes and some wardrobe boxes. I say that I don’t think I will need all the boxes.
Movers show up, don’t have any boxes… what moving company shows up without moving supplies? Olsen does. And the head guy was not pleased that I expected that they would have some moving supplies (we only needed a few boxes and you would have thought I was asking them to chop down a tree and make the box from scratch!).
They said they were going to shuttle my items to a warehouse and that the shuttle from my house to the warehouse was NOT part of the quote from Richard, though I was quite clear in asking if the quote was all inclusive. Cost: $ 850+ $ 160 in tip (I didn’t want to stiff the working guys because their bosses are not forthcoming!).
So, after shedding most of the furniture, I get a quote that was actually higher than the original one!!! but not to worry, they will honor the original quote! WTF?! Scoundrels.
Richard claims I do not accept the bid (though I have a print out as proof that I sent the money, lest he hold my possessions hostage), calls me before 8 am and thinks that is customer service (it is not… that is creepy and disturbing!), and to top it all off, he tells the shuttle guy that I accept a much higher insurance rate that I agreed to… adding to my costs!
I think I am going to need the added insurance, I am sure he is going to beat the hell out of my possessions and I will not be surprised if items are destroyed and/​or missing and not reimbursed… mark my words.
My furniture was picked up December 30^th in Chicago… it will sit, by Richard’s admission, until January 4^th in his warehouse and I will get my stuff in California… get this, between January 10−22… wow. Avoid this company at all costs!

Horrible experience with this company and with Steven DiBasilio in particular. Low estimate followed by high bill in the end with a «note our very tiny fine print on estimates». Things were broken, price ended up outrageous and employees were extremely rude.

Great movers! I had a 3 story, 2 bedroom condo downtown with a storage unit down the street and it was done in 4 hours. Great guys, very professional. They handled all my items with great care and packed my art pieces for me. Brian, Alex and Scotty did a fabulous job. Highly recommended!
