Wonderful place. Affordable, tasty and good service too! We have stopped here several times and never had a bad meal once. Breakfast is best.

Homemade jam to die for! Homemade pies to die for! Amazing breakfasts and great lunch and dinners. With free jam on the side. Friendly staff and great prices. Seriously…homemade jam to die for. It’s so good you could just eat it with a spoon. Remember that on Saturday mornings there are no substitutions for menu items. Did I mention the jam?

Great place for breakfast. We go often, for the best service, ask to sit in Laurie’s section. She doesn’t rush you(actually none of them do), and she’s my favorite. She always remembers us. Everyone who works there is great btw. They make an amazing Belgian waffle. They’re famous for their homemade pies and jams. Once I posted to their Facebook that I loved their chicken noodle soup(which is also homemade!), and asked for them to let me know when they made it again, and they made me some that day! I loved it. I ate there twice this weekend. I had the waffle, hubby had and omelet one day and pork chops and eggs the next. Portions are huge!

Walked in with my hubby and two boys! Staff was completely rude and ignored us. Stared at us like we were from outer space(guess Cuz we were dressed up). When we finally sat, the staff completely ignored us again and NEVER brought menus after 10 min. A couple walked in and they menus right away. Don’t go here if you are not from the area. I think the staff is used to a certain type of person coming in. The waitresses looked like they were so miserable and hated their jobs! Terrible! Atmosphere was like a barn. Crappy all the way around. Wish I could give it 0 stars. Unless you are dressed like you just walked off the farm, u will be ignored.

Literally the BEST biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. I sincerely compare all other biscuits and gravy to Jennie Rae’s. I was also pleasantly surprised that they have chai, too! I’ve never had bad service, either.

We’ve driven by Jennie Rae’s for years and finally were smart enough to stop. My grilled cheese was made with Swiss instead of American, as I requested and came on Texas toast. The chili was thick, flavorful and spicy enough to be interesting without needing a fire extinguisher. My husband’s chicken salad sandwich was all that he hoped for, plus it had walnuts. Everything was delicious. Strong flavor of the 50s, but not contrived. This is not a theme restaurant — it’s the real thing.

This is a good old fashioned diner among miles of cornfields. They offer an AYCE fish fry every Friday which is very good. They also offer a variety of breakfast options with different portion to fit your hunger level. They employ a very nice staff that tries their best to make your dining experience a pleasant one. If you’re a local, you’re sure to see someone you know. If you’re not a local but just passing through, be sure to stop by anyway. The food is good and the staff friendly. I would encourage anyone to give this establishment a try.

Went there last week for the first(and last) time. Joan and I had breakfast. I had pancakes and ham; Joan had ham and eggs. The pancakes were nothing special. But the ham? Probably the worst excuse for ham that Joan and I had ever had. Dry, overcooked, and cold. Since it on a highway, they probably don’t have many return customers. Louie’s in La Porte is much better and cleaner. Booth seats were decorated in contrasting duct tape colors. I would have given it a one star rating; but that would have been rude. See this place on the highway — keep going

Have eaten here many times over the past 5 years, ate here twice this week, gotta tell you, it is a great place. The food is great, the portions are generous, and the staff is super friendly without being hovering. I had the meat lovers omelet, added an extra egg and mushrooms, and it was very tasty and filling. Next day I had the western omelet with extra egg and mushrooms. Even better. The food came out so quick, I as really impressed! Wish they sold newspapers, but, hey, we’re here to eat, right? Top marks.

Visited for first time around 11am on a Saturday. Business appeared brisk with several empty, un-bussed tables evidence of a high turnover. Roadside diner atmosphere with standard breakfast and lunch menu selections. Inexpensive prices and attentive, friendly service. Food quality and portion size were average to below-average.

When we first came her we had the AYCE fish. And it was pretty good. We decided to try it again and it was a very different experience. The first order of the fish was barely warm. The second order was even worse. Down the road we went there for breakfast and tried their biscuits and gravy. Again the meal was barely warm, eggs were cold. Would’ve asked them to be reheated but no one checked on us. That’s our last visit.

Live near here and have been many times before and after the name change. Solid food and always crowded. They have a good fish fry on Fridays that include an all-you-can-eat portion which is very reasonable. Always a bit crowded during diner and there isn’t much room to stand, but one can expect that from a locally owned restaurant in a small town.

Great food! Great Staff. Nice and clean and some if the best Pie I’ve ever had. Breakfast is what you would want from a family restaurant. And the cheeseburgers are delicious. One of my favorite places to have lunch with my sweetheart.

I thought the food was good and the prices are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. I’m not from the area so no place for me to compare to around there but I enjoyed it after a 2 and a half week vacation in 5 different states. I had the eggs Benedict and it was right on. The ham was a little thick for my liking but didn’t effect quality. Was a old breakfast for the whole table.

Well — We strayed away from our usual«after Church» brunch spot and discovered Jennie Rae’s. I have been there with good friends for Friday Night Fish fry’s but have never had a chance to go back and discover what else is on the menu. I had the Egg’s Benedict and it was great. Service was Great and fast even though the place was packed… I think we found our new regular after church spot — perhaps not as much in winter because of the roads, but very pleased and will be back for sure

Sadly, I had already eaten the lunch I packed when I came across a restaurant that was inscribed with my name! I was so excited that I pulled over and got some photos — and saw that the restaurant was packed! According to the website, this other Jennie Rae shares my love of making homemade preserves and cooking — and it’s a local, family business! Go give some love to Jennie Rae!
