Been here about 5 times. Food is average not poor, not great. Typical average bar food in a typically average bar in a typically average town in the typically average state of Indiana… Yawn

The place was great and the service was better! Great small town feel we came from San Diego to see my parents and found this place out in the middle if no where. If your in the area you should definitely stop in and grab a burger they were great!!! Will be back for sure

Not from the area was just visiting family and they took us here. Was very iffy at first wondering how the heck food was going to be good at this place but to my surprise it was pretty good. I had the prime rib and wife had the fried chicken. Both were good meat came out just a tad over cooked but still was super tender. Overall some of the better prime rib I’ve had. If the place was local I would definitely go back. Oh forgot to mention prices are pretty good to.

I had a pretty good time here. We came on a Sunday evening, so they had the prime rib sandwich from the leftover prime rib on Saturday. It’s some pretty tasty french dip, basically, with a side of creamy horseradish sauce to slather on it. Fries are the skinny little bugger, nothing of note. Cole slaw is kinda like KFC’s, and honestly pretty good. The prime rib burger, made with prime rib, was also pretty durned tasty. Our order came on the done side, so order a step rarer than you normally would. Fried chicken was solid. Moist, good crispy outside without being greasy. The dinners come with an option of some sort of potato thing. It’s mostly butter. Yeah. Almost all of the patrons are smokers, so if you’ll allergic you probably won’t have the best time. They do have outdoor seating, though, so when it’s not too hot/cold that’s a nice place to just relax. Considering it’s a bar that happens to have tasty food, the salad was actually pretty solid. It’s your typical midwestern iceberg/green lettuce with some onion tomato and carrot, but the pieces were all the right size and very fresh. There’s no real way to fit more than five people on a single table without going outside, so consider that as well.

Found this place on a Tuesday evening while doing a photo shoot. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, but when you’re there you are ‘Now here’. We were lucky they still had left overs from Saturday nights prime rib dinner. The prime rib sandwicdh was absolutely the best I ever had, great horseradish sauce, with fried mushrooms and onions. They have these sandwiches until the beef runs out. Makes my mouth water just writing this review. Drinks were average prices, menu prices resonable. My husband had the ruben sandwich and liked it, too.

This place is in the middle of no where… literally. You don’t end up here accidentally. The place is a mix of nascar loving locals and during good weather there are quite a few bikers in the bar. This is one of those bars that has been there forever. The only reason I am reviewing this place is because its a great day trip, Its a cool drive in and there is a really nice lake a few blocks away(make sure you use the public beach, not the association one, you know how that goes). The food here is great. I would highly recommend the buffalo burger and a glass of beer from Backroads Brewery. This is the only place I know outside the brewery to get Backroads and its great. There is a buffalo ranch a few miles away which is where I’m pretty sure is where they get their meat from and it is easily the best buffalo burger I have ever had.

Excellent food and fun in the middle of Nowhere! Everyone is nice, quality food and good times. A lot of history here! Well worth the drive, grilled chicken salad and friday perch are excellent. Soups are all home made. You can get a Guiness or a Pabst in the can! Wide variety of customers which makes for a lot of interesting fun.
