Clean, and the food was amazing. Staff where very professional and polite.

The sushi was excellent, the hibachi dinner was decent. The service, however, was horrible. As in, —took our drink order twice because the waitress was new and gave up — horrible. The service never really got better than that but the food was good & prices fair.

Honestly, probably one of the worst Japanese places I’ve been (food-​wise). I didn’t like the food at all. I ordered off the menu, so I can’t speak much for their buffet. Their soup was also some of the worst I’ve had, unfortunately.
On the plus side, the service was good and the server was friendly. I had high hopes for this place, and maybe it’s just my food preference, but I won’t be returning here.

Cute little restaurant with great touches like hot towelettes, a salad bar, and complimentary sushi. I had the sake don (salmon over sushi rice) and the serving of salmon was so generous and the quality was great. Prices as very decent. For my entrée, I also got a soup and a salad for $ 17. I’ll be back for sure.

Extremely poor service. Absolutely no communication about what deals when we asked about them. The servers really did not help when we tried to ask questions and they did not know about their own specials and happy hour. Make sure you read the fine print. If you’re in a groups with more than 2 people do not go here.

Ordered an assortment of specialty rolls and couldn’t pick a favorite! Unique offerings, friendly service, wonderful management, attractive décor. You won’t be disappointed!

Great little place. Huge variety of specialty sushi rolls. Crème brûlée was the bomb.

Best sushi in the area, also the ginger dressing on their salad is the best too because it does not have a mayo base.

Delicious food, friendly service, and great atmosphere. We sat at the bar and were given a free appetizer! Will be returning for seconds in the near future.

Excellent food and service was top notch. I agree with other comments about rivaling sushi bars in LA. I had soup and it was great. My friends had sushi and hot saki and gave it two thumbs up.

Negatives: Too much on the menu. Long wait times. Orders can come out wrong.
Positives: The food is generally good, though sometimes just fair. The staff are friendly, though this small chain has the most quiet itamae ever. Fabulous décor, very modern.
Go for the sushi, skip the gimmicky sides.

Food was lacking flavor, FUJI is way better

The service here is very good. I came in close to closing and felt pretty bad about it, but they were crazy nice and didn’t rush me at all. The food was better than some of the best sushi places in NYC. What a great find!

Very suprised to find a good sushi restaurant in Rome, NY but Mitsuba honestly rivals places I have been to in California, NYC, and many other places! The service. and ambiance were great as well!

Contrary to the plain exterior, the food and service at this restaurant is superb. We we’re delighted by the free appetizer, and that miso soup and a salad bar came with the Regular Sushi platter. Just passing, and happy to have come upon this establishment.

My family and I visited Mitsuba on New Year’s Eve. We all ordered two rolls each and were invited to the salad bar. While we were eating our salads, one of the waitresses delivered soup to my mother and myself. We told her we didn’t order it but were informed that it came with our meal. A couple minutes later the other waitress came and told us it wasn’t for us. She took it from our table and delivered it to the correct table. She took the SAME soup and gave it to other people. (Thankfully we hadn’t touched it!)
We were then each given one of our rolls. When we asked about the other rolls, we were told they would be right out. It was at least 5 minutes before the rest of the meal came. Since the rolls sat on the counter while the two waitresses visited with each other at the register, they were delivered cold.
We were also treated to a hairdressing show while we were there by the waitresses.
This is not the first time I have received poor service at Mitsuba. I have gone back in the past because I enjoy the food. However, after this experience it will be a very long time before I return. Perhaps I will check out the other Japanese restaurant in the area.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner bento box.
It came with two pieces of volcano roll for an appetizer that was very good.
I liked fact that I could make my own salad at the salad bar. They had different dressings and of course a really good ginger one.
It also came with miso soup, 3 pieces of California roll, I think two crab stick of sashimi, rice, plenty of chicken, two what I think are rice balls, sweet potato maki, and broccoli maki.
I am a pretty big guy and had plenty to eat. It was all very fresh and very tasty.
They gave me a sliced orange at the end for desert.
The inside of the place was also very nice.
I did not order a drink or desert and my bill came to $ 18.45 plus tip.
Good place.

Good food good prices service was kinda slow and waitress was hard to understand but will go back next time I’m in Rome visiting family
