Steak ‘n Shake

I absolutely had a great time with my family. Great burgers and shakes. The frys were also good had different choice of flavora my favorite was the cajun had just enough spice to it. The fries flavor mixed well with the shake sweetness! Thanks for opening in Rome GA!!!

Review in real time! Here I am at Rome’s Steak n Shake writing this review on my iPhone. Too bad it’s not going to be a pleasant one. Simply put, the service is horrendous and the food, while acceptable, is not up to par. Let me explain in greater detail.
First thing I noticed when we were sat were droplets of an unknown source dotting my seat. I made a remark to our hostess who either didn’t hear me or ignored me. I later discover that these droplets are leaking from the air conditioner unit above the table. There’s evidence of this condensation hitting my seat, but where else is it dripping?!
Our server took our order and drinks at the same time. Drinks were delivered in a timely manner but the food was a different story. It took 30 minutes for our food to reach our table, which in a restaurant such as Steak n Shake is unacceptable. And nothing was ordered out of the ordinary, just your usual steak burgers and a turkey club sandwich. I’ve been served the same meal in less than half that time.
Food was good overall. I got the turkey club sandwich on Texas toast. No real complaints except for the «applewood smoked» bacon and fries. No way this bacon is applewood smoked. It tastes like the pre-​cooked bacon you buy at the supermarket to stick in the microwave. Also, my fries were lukewarm at best, probably because they had been sitting on the counter for 20 minutes. The rest of my party received their steakburgers and they didn’t have any major food complaints either.
Service itself could also be improved. Our server definitely was not on her game today, as we had to request drink refills THREE times before she took action. She also failed to bring us basics like silverware and napkins. Big time server fail.
It’s a shame the service was so lousy on the visit in which I intended to write my review. I wish I could give this place more praise since I really enjoy a good Steak n Shake meal. But the mediocre (at best) service and speed eliminated any good feelings about the meal itself.
