Ordered pizza and spicy BBQ wings and both were great. The pizza wasn’t greasy and the wings were crispy, meaty, moist and covered with plenty of sauce. This place will definitely go into my rotation.

Visiting from California and this was our favorite spot in Rome! Great pizzas and sandwiches. Super friendly staff. Marcus, the owner, is the coolest. Highly recommend!

Sort of friendly service looooong wait for a small pizza. Greasy and no sauce. Crust was hand tossed, crunchy and the best part. Chicken on pizza was greasy but was lots of it.

As a vegetarian, I was sad to see that the falafel was pretty much my only(non-pizza) lunch option besides salad. I’m pretty sure the«tzatziki» sauce was just mayonnaise.

Absolutely my favorite pizza in Utica /Rome . The crust is perfection. Sausage is fresh and local. If you like real pizza… it doesn’t get any better. Wings too, but have not had them. Sit in or take out. They also do an authentic Italian greens pizza. Wow ! I drive 30 miles for this one.

Good pizza and wings, but nothing spectacular. At the same time, they haven’t screwed anything up to earn a negative rating. Do yourself a favor and try one of the specialty Pizzas, its their brightest spot.

I’m in Rome, visiting from San Diego because of a family illness. It’s after 9pm, just left the hospital, jet-lagged, hungry. I want something greasy, gooey, spicy, rib-sticking. I know I’m in trouble, ‘cuz the sidewalks are rolled up here around 8. Driving past The Garage I see the OPEN sign is still on. I step up to the counter and tell the guy(the owner, I find out later) my sitch, and that I’m thinking wings to take home(feeling kinda Louis CK-ish). He suggests a slice as I wait, since the wings take a few minutes. I grabbed a San Pel and munched on the chewy, thin crust slice, not bad. While I waited he took a few calls, and I can see how some people would be put off by his abrupt style, it didn’t bother me. The guy’s no-nonsense and direct — if he can’t hear what you’re saying over the phone, he’ll tell you, OK? I enjoyed checking out all of the posters from shows at the Wescott, although it was a bit bizarre juxtaposed with the off-key warbling of «Slip-sliding Away» coming from the kitchen. Oh, and the wings? Sloppy, spicy, tangy goodness! Exactly what I wanted. I got the Phunk sauce and was glad I did. I’ll stop back by to try a pizza with that sauce before heading west. The carrots and celery were gnarly — kind of old and rubbery — but THAT’S NOTWHAT I WASMOSTFOCUSSEDON! And I have another slice of ‘roni chillin’ in the fridge for breakfast. Urp. Bottom line — if you want some gooey, spicy, grub with attitude to take home(or eat in if you aren’t overly snobby about«atmosphere»), this place is a good choice. It’ll be on my to-do list for future visits. And don’t get hung up about the attitude behind the counter… he’s a Social Distortion fan after all. Comes with the territory.

We walked in kind of late but the young kid didn’t care at all he got us exactly what we wanted! The other guy was on the phone the whole time on a personal call and we sat there for thirty minutes! The pizza and wings were great! I highly recommend butter and garlic wings! It’s a bit pricey but to me it’s worth it!!!

They have plenty of different styles of pizza but don’t succeed at any. What makes matters worse is there hours…4−10? Pretty silly. I give them a year.

The Garage has many options on their menu not typically found at a traditional pizza shop. I have never been disappointed with any choice I have made. Be sure to ask what they have for slices as they typically have something unique that’s worth trying.

Didnt have the pizza, so can’t say much about it. But i did have the Steak and Cheese sub which was terrible. Meat was not chopped, just a big slice of beef. Veggies not fresh, but rather pepper-onion-something mush out of a can. They also did not give me a side of tots(was oredering take out, so didnt look in the bag… my fault i guess). Also had the Hot Wings which were also below average. So greasy that I could not even dip in blue cheese, none of it would stick to the wing, but rather grease would drip into the cup of blue cheese. Also the celery and carrots that came with the wings were dirty(as in unwashed), large smears and specks of dirt on them. One star for cheap prices.

I’m giving 2 stars bc the pizza was OK. Lots of sauce not a lot of cheese. so eh. Crust was good though. Wing sauce was good but the wings were very strange looking like they got them at a chicken wing«outlet» where all the rejects get sent. However, what really capped off our not so great experience was with the service. We checked the website prior to placing our order to make sure they take credit cards(it said they did) when we went in the guy behind the counter said«we only take cards for deliveries». What the what?!? How does that even make logical sense? He motioned to a busted ATM in the place and said«that’s why we have the ATM, don’t worry it has a very low fee.» Ha! We refused to use the ATM and he was obviously annoyed he had to process our card but his only other option was to lose a $ 30 sale. We would’ve been fine paying cash if we knew we HAD to but the website clearly states they take cards. Won’t be back. mediocre pizza and oddly shaped wings do not warrant a return trip just to deal with shady business practices and shitty service!

It is pretty good pizza and is my preferred pizza place in Rome. The greek menu is just so-so but about the only place in Rome you will find Greek.

Order a pizza for pickup. Was told 30. Got there exactly 30 minutes. Asked to pay for it and told to wait another 5 minutes which turned into 10 minutes. Not ever again

Although their pizza is amazing, I can’t ignore the fact that the manager that took my order over the phone was extremely rude. I told him this when I picked up my pizza and he played dumb.

Rome, NY is not one of those places that many people have visited or intend to visit. So, I was not expecting much from the food offerings when I was in the area for a few days. A huge thank you to the few Unilocalers in the area for pointing me to the Garage. We ordered the pizza and wings special with pepperoni pizza and medium spicy wings. The tater tots caught my eye so we also tried those, even though the amount of food we ordered exceeded the appetite of two people. The pizza was AWESOME! The dough was what really made it special. The crust was chewy, tender, crispy, and flavorful. They make it fresh and it shows. The cheese was also really flavorful. My husband, a long-time consumer and afficianado of NY style pizza, described the pizza as tasting like a great NY pizza but a little heftier(thicker). The wings were great — meaty and what I expect true buffalo wings to taste like(Franks Red Hot). The tater tots were light and as addictive as potato chips due to the fact that they were fried(at home I bake my tater tots). But they pretty much taste and look like the Ore Ida tots you get in the frozen food section.
The Garage has a very mom & pop, laid back feel too it. For some reason, they didn’t have cups for water so we had to buy bottled water. I found that a little odd. In all, the pizza exceeded all expectations and has become one of those things that I will crave long after I return home to Los Angeles.

Really good pizza and wings! Every time I drive by, I always say«I gotta try that place out sometime.» I finally got around to it last night. We usually order pizza and wings from LaRomas. I think I’m gonna have to say we found a new«go to» when it comes to pizza. The pizza sauce was very tasty, and the crust was perfect. The wing sauce was also very flavorful, and very good. We will definitely be ordering pizza here again next time!

Great crust and I love the Specialty Pizzas. The Pink Pizza(ricotta and red sauce) and Greens Pizza(escarole, cappicola) are my favorites. But they are HOT! I’ve burned my mouth many times at The Garage. This is more of a take-out/delivery type place, but does have some seating inside. There’s lots of other stuff on the menu that I haven’t tried. Munchies, Wings, Gyros, etc.
