This is a pretty neat place. They have a «petting zoo» out front. I LOVE goats and could spend forever out there playing with them! You can buy food and feed them. They also have calves. The little shop has meat, dairy, yankee candles, and household products. It’s like an old fashioned mom and pop country store. They have ice cream in the back and I think next time I’ll have to give it a try! If you check out their website it tells you all the stores around town where you can buy their milk.

They have Muc boots here! OK, the main reason for my visit on Saturday was to see the store where it all gets put together. I have been buying Crooked Creek milk for years at my local Heflings outlet. This country store has a variety of products, including candles, dairy products, and of course, beef in the freezer section. I spoke with the two young ladies in the store and they were able to explain how the purchase of a ¼ beef works. They showed me the feature sheets for three quarters currently available and told me the usual prices for a quarter range from $ 550 to upwards of $ 700 to $ 725 or so. In previous communications with Dory, she told me they do not use GMO feed for their cattle, and they also do not feed or inject their livestock with antibiotics, hormones or steroids. Their cattle is grass fed year round, being pastured in the summer and receiving grain to supplement their diet in the winter months. They have considered applying to become certified organic. Available for group tours, they also have a picnic area and petting zoo. The tours highlight the farming operation, where visitors have an opportunity to get up close to the animals, showing the dairy process and finishing up with an ice cream cone for each visitor.
