Best breakfast at metro, maybe even the best omelet I ever had. I would definitely come here again.

My flight was delayed 3 hours and Slap Shotz pulled last call on me at 9:30 and my flight time was midnight… lame. I hate drinking while flying, but in this situation I was was down to get a little crunk. Cecily(I hope her name is spelled right) is a true bartender. She’s a little dry and quick to make you realize you’re not the only patron she’s taking care of. However, she went beyond that and made connections with all of us sitting at the bar and certainly made our layover less stressful. I enjoyed her wit and I think she’s a real way with guests; definitely a keeper! Vincent greeted me at the entrance; he informed me they we’re still serving pizzas at least and invited me to take a seat and enjoy myself. I did just that and immediately the other employees including Trang, May and the pizza guy made me feel like I was in good hands. I simply wanted it to be known how well I felt I was taken care of. I imagine this is not a special occasion, but the way they treat everybody. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDANDIAMO!!! I ate my entire pizza from an actual seperate pizza oven because it was so good and other passengers attested to having great food! These guys know hospitality the way it should be done.

On a long layover in Detroit we opted for an Italian lunch at Andiamo. Pretty darn good. Menu had a number of good options, service was fact and really friendly. Prices not as high as one would expect in an airport, so would call them reasonable. We were surprised and pleased. It was a nice, relatively quiet for an airport lunch time. Katya K. was our server and she was excellent.

I’ve been through the Detroit airport many times but this was my first stop At this restaurant. The beer selection wasn’t expansive but they did have something in the craft arena and the Griffin Claw offerings were both quite good. The menu is somewhat limited so I gravitated toward the build your own pizza. I’m glad I did — the crust was excellent and the olives added just the right amount of salty kick! I would definitely order the pizza again. After a bit of an initial delay to have someone take our order, the service was pretty good. We did stop in at an off peak time, so that may have helped. Overall, a good experience for airline dining.

Great airport ambiance! When weary and in need of a tranquil place to rest and recharge while you dine, Andiamo comes through. Tables are close like most airport restaurants but here it seemed there was still a bubble of personal space around you. The colors and décor were tasteful and calming. Service was good. I was checked on often and my tea glass was refilled. Prices are reasonable for a nicer restaurant in an airport. I ordered the Build Your Own Pizza for $ 12. This comes with your choice of sauce, cheese, protein and 2 vegetable toppings. I ordered red sauce, mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage, mushroom and onions. This is our standard pizza topping order. Evidently, I had been having a really bad travel day because when my server came back to double check my toppings, I’m told I agreed it was, sausage, mushroom and PEPPERS. Eek. I’m human; it could have happened this way. I picked off the abundant green and red peppers on the pizza delivered to my table. They did offer to re-make the pizza but I didn’t have the time to wait. I wish I could say I liked everything about the pizza except the peck of peppers. Unfortunately, the crust wasn’t up to the task. It was limp and any attempt to pick up a slice resulted in the cheese and all toppings sliding off the top. I resorted to eating with a fork. Please don’t judge — I WASHUNGRY. Final Assessment: Airport Ambiance 4.5 Stars; Service 4 Stars; Food 2 Stars Note: This is based off of only one visit.

Service was amazing. Food was the BEST airport food I have ever eaten. My bowl of Italian wedding soup was piping hot and delicious. The gnocchi was to die for. If you have a little time to kill you have to eat here!!!

Pizza is a solid 5! The Guiseppe was awesome topped with mushrooms, caramelized onions, pepperoni, roasted peppers, olives and banana peppers. Crust was perfect and I wish I’d have requested a side of sauce. In hindsight I would have bought the Margarita pie simply because the sauce and cheese flavors were so delicious. All of the ingredients were fresh and baked in a brick oven adjacent to the bar. This is a great place to stop while on layover. Little pricey but it’s convenient and service was stellar! Delicioso!

Came in Monday after Easter for quick beer. Nice cold beer but wow the tender was throwing stuff around and made it obvious she did not want to stay. She was so quick with customers it was rude. The hostess was really nice. Brilliant review huh?

Food options for layovers at DTW have improved, both in the grab-and-go, made-to-order and sit-down restaurant spheres. From cheap to spendy, you can pretty much find anything along the one mile long A concourse. Today brought me to the sit down Italian-style option, Andiamos. It’s located near gate A-30. Several of the tables along the wall have power outlets nearby, but the ones by the window do not. I was greeted by my server who took my drink order(a locally brewed IPA) and when she returned with this $ 10 pint of beer, I placed my dinner order. Not long after, my meatball appetizer arrived. Served in a small cast iron pan, marinara sauce, shaved parmesan and a big scoop of ricotta cheese with a meatball that was probably a quarter of a pound. A very nice-sized portion. The meatball was hot, the sauce was hot, the cheese was ice cold. An interesting serving option. But yes, it was very tasty. After I’d finished the starter and it was cleared away, the pizza arrived. Very well topped as you can see in the picture, chicken, garlic, mushrooms, artichokes and tomatoes plus fresh cheese. The crust was excellent and the toppings were great. The cheese was pieces of mozzarella rather than shredded which gave it an interesting texture. I don’t know if this is something you’d want to take on the plane, but here in the restaurant it was quite tasty and I enjoyed it. Definitely one of the better options at DTW.

Fairly new place in Detroit Airport. Someone on a flight about 6 months ago told me to try it out next time I am in Detroit and have a decent layover time. So I did and it was very good Italian food and the ambiance for an airport eattery was fairly nice and classy. Good place overall and would recommend it to others.

Hard to get great food and service at an airport but not impossible! DTW boasts some very good foodie places! Andiamo is one of those places. The calamari was very nicely done and fresh — yeah in Detroit! And I had the house lasagna and it was fresh, hot and full of flavor. That alone might get ya to strong three or into four stars, but the real kicker here was the super staff. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly and trust me there were plenty of grumpy, displaced and cancelled travelers! If you’re here stop in on Andiamo!

What pushed this review over to a four star rating was the staff — very nice and friendly, they made my breakfast visit during a layover very pleasant. The coffee was also really decent, which was a blessing. I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and they were ok. The presentation and smell was really lovely. They were not exactly light and fluffy as advertised, and the ricotta cheese had a grainy texture, but the serving of four pancakes(about 5 inches in diameter) were very filling. I would eat here again if I was in this terminal.

I consider a sit down dinner with real china plates to be a step up whenever I eat at an airport restaurant. And Andiamo’s was much better than many airport dining spots. Dishes are cooked from scratch from fresh ingredients. Service was good despite a busy night. I had chicken picatta which came with pasta and vegetables. Unfortunately too much oil, some undercooked Brussels sprouts and way too many capers made it too salty and a bit heavy. But I’d give this restaurant 31 – 2 stars if I could because it’s better than average.

Pretty delicious and filling Italian meal for an airport! I had a very large bowl of gnocchi, which was perfect before my long flight ahead. I try to avoid the greasy food before flight so I was happy to have this option in the airport. The restaurant was pretty dead when I went so I had great service. My food came fast and the server was nice and attentive. Not only did she check to see how I was doing, but a manager also came out and went to all the tables to ask as well. I thought that was nice. Made me feel less like I was on a layover. The wine and the food were pretty pricey but that is to be expected. Was not a fan of the house white chardonnay, but it helped me unwind nonetheless.

Thought my layover was in Dallas but ended up in Detroit. Saw this place, I’m always attacked to a fancy bar and thought I’d get a drink and wings. No wings, but the nicest waitress came over and convinced me to try the pizza. Omg!!! The best pizza ever. I can’t think of the name but it was chicken and lots of good veggies. The chef took his time and hurried up for me to get it b4 my flight was to depart but wow!!! I am ultimately impressed. This is in my top 3 pizza places ever…

Ehh. The smells brought me in, but everything else pushed me back out. Expect to spend 10 – 15 per dish; not bad for the airport, but a few bloody marys and a personal pizza and you’re cashing out your 401k. The food sounds and looks good. Turns out it really isn’t either

What brought me in was the lemon pancakes on the digital menu outside. Before leading on to what I want I always ask waitresses what they recommend. What I ordered was the stacked croissant breakfast sandwich per the waitresses raving review. It came in a skillet which made the bottom have a nice crisp. It looks like everything hot comes in a skillet. The croissant was bigger and flatter than I expected which made it a nice breakfast sandwich bread. The egg was served on top of the sandwich which I thought was odd. I out it inside but ended up eating the whole thing with a knife and fork so it didn’t matter. It might have been better on top. I couldn’t wait to try it so I didn’t take a picture until I was 75%done. Thank you Tanae! Everyone around me seemed happy with their breakfast. Even the couple who were sharing a bowl of fruit and a bagel. This place got packed by the time I left.

The kale salad was surprisingly good for airport food. The menu indicated that the kale was organic, and it tastes as good as it looks.
