Been with my family and friends a few times, not only do food quality changes from Good to bad on many different occasions. Disappointed and won’t be back unless stopping by for chips or a drink!!!

Their steak and cheese subs are absolutely out of this world when I want to take a drive I typically come here for a double size sub which can easily be split amongst two. Please get extra salt and oil on the side because the extra makes it that much better. I recommend eating it asap while its hot because the lettuce gets soggy after a car ride!

I read the great reviews and had to try them out, I had a steak & cheese & a rueben, both pretty good, but not all I had hoped for, expect the contents not to run the full length of the bun.(they were larges) I would go back to try some others, but I wouldn’t go too far out of my way.

This review is coming from a Romulus High School graduate and long-time Romulus and Van Buren Township resident. Hands down, you have not lived until you’ve eaten a Captain Nemo’s sub. There are a lot of places in and around Detroit to get subs, but for some reason, none of them have that unique taste like Nemo’s. I used to eat one of these gigantic subs weekly when I was a student at RHS.

I love this place! I grew up in Flat Rock and unfortunately the Nemo’s I grew up going to is no longer open. I was delighted to find that other locations still exist. The sandwiches are delicious. The prices are reasonable. The service is friendly and prompt. I now live 30 minutes away and will often drive to get one of these great sandwiches. They are worth the drive! I’ve been eating these for nearly 30 years, and I hope many more to come! :-)

We were so hungry for a sub as we neared Detroit Airport. Happened on Captain Nemo’s. WOW it was worth the wait. They are a busy little hole in the wall in Romulus. The place had constant business because the sandwiches are fantastic!

I’m a cross country truck driver. I have had subs from the east coast to the west coast including the Philly steak and cheese in Philadelphia. But none can compare to the steak and cheese that Captain Nemo’s. They’re seasoning salt is like the narcotic very easy to get addicted to

The original and the best. I crave these — worth moving back to Michigan for. Always hit this one when in town. It is right at Five Points in Romulus. Steak and cheese is the bomb — wish I could duplicate the bread at home. Figured it all out but that. Anyone know the secret?

When I lived in Chicago 25 years ago, whenever I had business in Detroit, I would get off my plane and head right to Captain Nemo’s for a Steak Egg and Cheese Sub. Now I live in the metro area and get there a lot more often. My daughter is now an adult and when I get a sub for me, I have to get one for her too. I guess good taste gets passed down genetically. :)

Captain Nemo’s! This is the original location. Created by John Brimble, many years ago. I understand the recipe’s are based on a sandwich shop somewhere in England. That’s probably all wrong, but who cares? It sounds good anyhow. Best sandwich shop in the region. Luckily it’s franchised, so if you live downriver, you don’t have to risk Romulus and the incredible amount of law enforcement creeping around the airport waiting to generate revenue for this soiled and smelly city. There are several locations. Try the Pizza sub or Taco sub first. They are all spectacular, very fresh ingredients. Also notable are the Traditional and the Steak and egg.
