Vegetarian pizza minus onion, green pepper, white sauce, mozzarella add vegan cheese and roasted garlic = omg!!! Seriously delicious vegan pizza. And the service was excellent every time.

Half of all pizza restaurants nationwide are independent pizza shops, however Roseburg is home to only two independents — Loggers Tap House/Logger’s Gourmet Pizza and Abby’s Legendary Pizza — and five national chains — Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, Round Table Pizza, Papa Murphy’s, and Little Caesars Pizza. Loggers Taphouse promotes«Voted best pizza in Roseburg since 2013!» but its hubris belies mediocre competition. On my last visit, a friend and I both ordered the $ 7.99 lunch special, a personal two-topping pizza and a side salad. Prices apparently increased recently as the restaurant’s website lists this special as $ 6.95. The salad bar looked like a converted pizza prep cooler, loaded with black olives, chopped tomatoes, sliced onion, grated cheese and mushrooms. Two large bowls of lettuce bookended the bar: wilted mixed greens on one side; an iceberg lettuce mix(the cheapest bagged premix available in your grocer’s produce section) on the other side. Other salad bar options included foodservice-delivered macaroni and bowtie pasta salads, a half-empty container of cottage cheese, and room temperature broccoli, cauliflower and pickled beets. We returned to our tables with our salads just steps ahead of the waitress, who brought our personal pizzas. I ordered mushroom and sausage(and posted pictures, so you can judge). The waitress disappeared after that, appearing only once more to our table to ask«How is everything?» as we had nearly finished our meal. We responded by asking for the check. Apizza Scholls, arguably Oregon’s most acclaimed pizzeria* and often cited as one of the best in the nation, uses an electric Baker’s Pride pizza oven, so I’m not suggesting quality pizza comes only from wood-fired brick ovens. There are many different styles of pizza craft. Yet, as of today, Roseburg’s pizza shops only commonality is a lack of passion. For example, Loggers Taphouse uses pizza screens and/or dimple or perforated pans, which speaks volumes about the pizzeria. Why? Well, using them requires little training. These tools allow for air flow between the pan and crust, preventing condensation, which turns pizza into the undercooked, soggy mess served at most pizzerias. No doubt the idea of creating space(with dimples or holes) to allow steam to escape, so the crust becomes crisp, sounds good; the reality is evaporative cooling and the lack of contact with a hot surface prevents the crust from becoming crisp. At Loggers Taphouse, the result is a hard, dense crust, similar to pizza from a fast food assembly-line or a pre-cooked frozen box. The crust offered little flavor, neither crisp nor chewy. Instead of finding char spots on the pizza bottom, I found a pattern of raised dimples. Pizza screens and/or dimple or perforated pans(and conveyor ovens) are commonly used shortcuts by operators. It takes time to teach and train employees how to use a pizza peel, how to mix, proof and handle dough, how to monitor air and oven temperature. All of these details and more(including ingredient quality) affect the final product. I commented to my lunch guest, an attorney himself, «The crust’s raised dimples are prima facie evidence we could have eaten a real pizza at Lighthouse Center Bakery but chose not to this time.» Fundamentally, it takes dedication and devotion to making great pizza. I’ve found no evidence of those qualities at Loggers Taphouse. Finally, a word on prices: a 16-inch Hawaiian pizza(Canadian bacon and pineapple) sells for $ 25.99 at Logger’s. Whereas, I can buy an 18-inch«Pig & Pineapple»(cured, smoked Canadian bacon, red onions and pineapple) from Apizza Scholls for $ 26. No one would argue the cost of living is higher in Portland, so why accept Portland prices for lower quality in Roseburg? *Apizza Scholls ranked #14 out of the«101 Best Pizzas in America» by The Daily Meal.

The food is was amazing! The only downside was that we asked for crispy bacon but it was very floppy and soft. The service was quick, and they were very polite. I would definitely come back here again

Well I have a long history with this building, I have been going to it since the 1980s. Also my wife worked here whe. it was the NBA Beef and Brew. It is sad to report that it has come to this state. They seem to this that a remodel means jus5 turni g by the lights up and removing the fire pit. As for the food, mediocre at best. Overpriced at least. The service also left much to be desired. I can only think no of one reasoon this establishment survives… Beer!

Went out on Valentine’s Day with my husband and our friends and was definitely not disappointed. Had the French Dip, and it was amazing! Can’t wait to go back for our next date night!

They had a booth set up at the Bite of Oregon last summer. I had the bacon waffle dipped fried chicken. It was next-level bonkers. Make sure you get the honey-habanero gastrique drizzled over it. It’s like a liquid angel/devil combo. Unreal.

We really like the crispy, kind of fried crust. Tasty cheese and meats. The garlic cheese knots are yummy!

Let me preface this review with the statement of the service. My server was amazing, very polite and on top of her tables. That being said I waited over 30 minute for my personal pizza. For some place that advertises for a quick lunch this is rediculous. The salad bar looked horrible with the lettuce and green obviously going bad. Not even mentioning things like hard boiled eggs or the dressing with food bits in it. The burgers are injected with butter and absolutely everything is fried. I ended up paying 11 dollars for my experience which included a root beer I didn’t drink. Overral this a hole in the wall that will absolutely destroy your arteries. It’s a shame, they used to be higher quality. Needless to say I’m never going back

Best pizza in town hands down. I could not believe the size of the 10 «with a side of mozzarella sticks it fed me and my girl. Watched the ducks game on the 90» and the whole joint would erupt in cheers for a Touch Down. Fun atmosphere. Very polite and efficient waitress. Very professional. The only reason I give 4 instead of five stars is they make sure those refills of their award winning in house root beer keep coming and then when you get your bill you realized they gouged you for every single refill! With a group of 4 we we charged $ 30 in root beer alone. And for that reason I may not be back for awhile but perhaps it was our own naïveté coupled with the fact many other establishments give free refills. Order the pizza and just buy one drink! That’s my advise.

My wife loves their spotted owl chicken garlic pizza. It is very good. The jalapeño appetizer was sooo good, we could have a double portion. I could kill a whole more spotted owls for that pizza.

We ordered a pizza, wings, and fried bacon. Everything was amazing! The pizza has a soft doughy crust, and had generous toppings and cheese. The wings were fried, tossed in fresh thyme, and covered in ‘liquid gold’, which is a slightly spicy honey sauce. The bacon was breaded country fried style and was definitely something special. We picked it up, but they also offer delivery which is nice.

Second time to enjoy the huge selection of craft beers and grab a burger. Drove up from Grants Pass to drop my son off. Came in with my boys and had a great bartender who not only was hustling on a double shift but has great knowledge of every beer they serve. If you can’t find a beer to your likings here, there’s something wrong. I had a porter from Ashland Brewing. Delicious. Their burgers are to die for. Huge and good. While our bartender put in the wrong order for my son, he was very apologetic. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through the Roseburg area.

I was a huge fan of the original logger’s pizza(5 star), they closed the pizza place and now it’s a tap house. They have a bigger menu and lot more seating. The building is old and dated, could you a make over. I order the same thing I had at the old place pepperoni pizza and fries. It wasn’t the same; I would make the drive just for the pizza but now it different. I would eat there every time I was in town. They have a salad bar too but it was very sad looking. I would come back must it’s not every time I am in town. I need to try other things on the menu. Also they don’t offer pizza by the slice which was nice!

Truly a great pizza. Everyone we met was friendly & helpful. We were seated quickly and our waitress did a fantastic job. I’m sorry that I can’t remember her name so management would know what an asset she is. I gave them a 5 — which I hardly ever do, because they were just that good! Only wish I lived closer… Thanx

Great place, great people, love the pizza. Love the fact that they help support the high school band by having the jazz band play once a month and if you tell them you’re there for the band a small percentage of sales goes to the band program. Love when the the community comes together to support the kids. Will recommended this location to anyone especially on jazz band nights.

This place has potential. The décor was deliberately rustic; a sort of road-house bar look. It felt cozy and comfortable. Several big-screen TV’s tuned to ESPN were well placed for viewing by most of the customers. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. If you enjoy beer, this is definitely your place. They have dozens of micro brews on tap. They also have local wines, currently from Glaser, Abacela and Pyrenees. The pulled pork sandwich wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t the best we’ve had either. The bread needs some work. Rose didn’t care for their fries, but I enjoyed them. They were like my mother used to make. Really! The menu said the cole slaw was«Carolina» style. I lived in North Carolina for 46 years and I don’t know what they mean. It was okay slaw, but I wasn’t seeing the«Carolina» part. The next time we go, I think we should try a pizza. After all, that’s what they are really about. All in all, it has the potential to be a nice, friendly place to have a leisurely dinner and a drink. Check out our blog«Rose’s Café» at:
