I went to get a wash and set when I walked in I asked how much the lady told me $ 40 which I thought was expensive because my hair is only about 5inches long. Well I agreed because I needed a wash and then they proceeded to sell me in a protein conditioner for $ 10. I agreed to that because my hair has been in braids for a while. The lady did a blow after the wash and told me she was going to trim my ends because they were damaged so I agreed. When she finish blowing and pressing my hair an which it smelled burnt she told me my cost was $ 65 +tax. I was shocked as they looked at my hair before they started and gave me a price. Then as one of the other ppl said in review they no longer understood English anymore. She the lowered it down to $ 55 as if to do me a favor. I paid and will never go back Maribel gave better service and it’s down the street.

No good. I walked in there and asked how much to do my hair so there would be surprises at the end. The lady who the receptionist directed me to looked at my hair and gave me a price. When I was done I was shocked out of my mind when they increased the price by $ 5 and asked why. They all acted they were so confused and no one wanted to take responsibility. I showed them who had given me the price and she just acted stupid like all of a sudden like now she couldn’t speak English. I was so mad. Such liars and dishonesty. Too bad the girl did a good job I would have gone back but their behavior sucked and turned me off and I felt like I was being robbed.

I have a mouthful, so let me start by saying I’m a bit disappointed and annoyed with this establishment. I’ve been going intermittently since 2008. For about 2 years I was a faithful weekly customer because it was conveniently located 3 mins from my apartment. Almost a full 8 years later, and one of 2 staff members I ALWAYSSEE, still refers to me, and their other legions of customers as «mami». She also still hasn’t learned much English within that time frame because as I asked her questions about some products, she couldn’t answer them.(Or maybe she didn’t feel like she wanted to). As a once loyal customer, I feel if you have a loyal customer base, address them by name, as an actual person, and not just a head of «mami» walking in. It’s part of the customer service treatment! Said lady also shows preferential treatment to Spanish speaking customers. The same hospitality is NOT extended to non Spanish speaking customers and I have been shown that over countless visits… again, chucked up to convenience.(The salon is located in an area of queens with a heavy West Indian population). Also, I have naturally kinky/curly hair. I noticed the grimace on the wash girl’s face as I came for the wash, and she was NOT gentle with the combing of my hair(which is soft and easy to detangle while wet, with a good leave in as they promote they sell). She didn’t gently detangle my hair, rather she RIPPED clumps out that were all over the floor when she was done roller setting my hair. I had to repeatedly ask her to «start combing from the bottom and work her way up», and she shook her head in agreement with an OK, but refused to acknowledge my request. As for the styling of my hair, I LOVE when the owner does my blow. She doesn’t compromise the integrity of the hair with intense heat, and takes direction well. Today I had a different stylist which left me with an OK blow. When I asked her to flat iron my hair, I saw that she didn’t handle the tool well and had to keep passing over my hair to complete a curl(they kept coming out square, and I’m positive my ends are now straight from heat damage…). I feel like the other women(for the most part) do what THEY want to do to your hair which is blow the life out of it with unreasonable heat temperatures from the blower and flat iron. Texture and condition of the hair should be considered when blowing natural hair, and unless you have Emily as a stylist, they aren’t caring about the health of your hair. Just a blow, and go. Minimal customer service here. Sorry, but today was my last day as a customer. I can no longer support an establishment that doesn’t take pride in customer service. It really gets one star from me, but the owners, and the guy that does the intense hair wash help bump it up to two.

I’m never going back there again. The lady cut my nose when she was trimming my hair she burned my scalp several times. & I paid with a credit card and they told me the receipt will be emailed to me. Which is not possible because my credit card is not linked to my email address. Then she told me the receipt will be sent to me via phone and I told her not possible again because my credit card is not linked to my phone. Had to finally convince them to write out my receipt. Clearly this Salon is under new management because it was all new faces and my previous experiences were not like this.

Same old, same old. Based on the reviews, thought I finally found a good Dominican salon. I was wrong once again. The only good thing was the hair wash. Other than that the leave in conditioner was horrible, had to wash my hair 2 days later. As usual, got an awful hair style and the blow out was harsh. My hair felt dry and nasty. Doesn’t seem like a salon that promotes healthy hair. Also, a bit on the pricey side.

Just got a great wash set and blow as usual for a steal! Don’t expect frills. Pay the $ 5 for conditioner and you will leave with soft sleek hair. Always my go to when at home! Also tip well! These ladies work hard!

Ok, so the salon itself is very nice. It’s clean and welcoming. The staff of 3 women are friendly and inviting. I came on a Saturday morning and was immediately seen. I was under the drier within 30 min. After a deep condition treatment. The price is the average $ 25 – 30 for a wash and set(depending on whether you want conditioner or not). I give it 3 stars because finding parking was surprisingly not so easy and the surrounding area is a bit questionable. I’ve been searching for a salon that actually specializes in hair care and healthy hair growth, I’m not so certain that I’ve found it here.
