I went here one morning as it’s the closest grocery store to my house and I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with breakfast. It turned out to take so long to get basic breakfast stuff! The store itself isn’t even that appealing. They have almost NOORGANIC food, There was only one register open… With an older lady who took literally 5 mins to ring up 10 things. I wouldn’t recommend going here

Butera is an ok store for a quick purchase or at least it used to be for me. I usually visit them weekly until today that I received the worst customer service of my life. Unfortunately the cashier Audrey was the rudest person and who will make more than one customer think twice before coming to this store. She was too busy talking with the person behind her and scanning/bagging my items that she was actually throwing my bagged purchase at me, when I brought it to her attention she turned even more rude and stated she was too busy and if I didn’t like her ways I should speak with a manager who actually never showed up. This was the worst grocery shopping experience possible. Workers like Audrey bring the store standards to a very low level.

Butera is a good spot for sale shopping. The store is clean and they always have at least a few good items on sale. Most recently, I needed a large quantity of lunchmeat that was on sale. I called that morning, spoke with someone in the deli and my lunchmeat was sliced and ready to go upon my arrival. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. And the shelves are stocked with a decent selection. There aren’t a million varieties of every single item, but I’ve never had a problem finding what I needed here. Plus, they«label» the new cashiers with a button their lapel which I think is really nice to help keep everyone happy. Their plastic bags are a much better quality than some of their local competitors’ and we reuse that sort of thing every day around here, so that makes me happy. Finally, their parking lot is a good size and they have cart corrals just where I need one. A good spot for a decent grocery store.

I like Butera a lot. When I can, I shop here for fruits, veggies, and sale items. The aisles are wide, and the store is very clean. I do agree that the entrance is too small and it’s really wonky for safety reasons to have just one public entrance and exit to the store. The downside is they don’t have a meat or seafood counter; all of it is packaged or frozen. I prefer to have fresh fish.

This store was recently remodeled and they have definitely tried to clean up the joint. I give them credit for that. What I do dislike about the remodel is the fact that it is now harder to get around the store. They’ve shrunk the entrance and made it tricky to get in and out of… So what is this store good for? Getting products quickly. You wont wait in long lines and the prices are fair — maybe not cheap but certainly not as expensive as jewel. The produce is good. They run good sales. Definitely a place to run in and out of… Maybe not the best to do all your shopping.

Butera is one of the smaller chains in the NW Burbs. Pros: + Prices are much better, especially on sale items, compared to Jewel, Meijers or Dominicks + Produce is decent quality + The bakery offers a variety of breads and other carb-loaded goodness + Charter One Bank located inside of the store if you need to use them + Smaller store means you can check-in and check-out quickly Cons: — They rarely have all the checkout lanes open, meaning small delays are to be expected — Smaller store means less selection — Non-sale items are only slightly cheaper than the other outfits

Store Review: Trying to save money on your groceries, butera maybe the shop for you. Usually you can’t go wrong with sale items on the weekly flyer from lunch meat to fresh fruit. The store is definitely smaller than your local jewel or dominicks. This is one downside when you are trying to find someone to help you. Otherwise I feel that the quality of meat is better at other local grocery stores. All and all if you are okay with less selection with competitive prices this is the store for you. Pros– excellent sale items, cheap lunch meat and fruit Cons– smaller store, less staff Hidden deals– remember to check the weekly flyer online or in your mail, also the store accepts coupons. Not sure if they accept internet coupons though
