Junk King

Its too bad I did not get the name of the movers. They came 15 mins earlier than scheduled, called ahead of time and they were gone before my actual appointment time at 9am. I have to be honest. Even though Junk King gave me lowest quote (AND a $ 30 discount). I still called around to see if i could get an even lower price. I only had a mattress/​box spring and love seat to trash. I had already paid LL Elf Services to move the items and he never came back leaving me to shell out MORE money just for 3 items he left behind. I actually got a lower quote the morning of my appointment with Sergio from Junk Removal. And I honestly told them if they could not match the lower price I got from Sergio, then I would have to cancel. They accepted my lower quote and came and still did the job professionally and quickly. I have never used Junk removal service before and was surprised at the prices I got just for 3 items ($ 165, $ 138, $ 125). However Junk King, I would highly recommend. I feel so relieved to have the stuff out of my house and I appreciate them shaking my hand when they walked up to my door. Very nice people. Will hire them when it’s time to move out!!! I’d give no stars if possible. Bait and switch ruse. Horrible service. Rude employees .
I booked online a Saturday appt, the earliest possible ‘window’ 8 to 10 am. Also online, using THEIR pricing estimator, I received an estimate of $ 69 — $ 100 for a sofa, chair, tv and coffee table (I used a leather ottoman for this) .
I was up by 7am, and told my doorman, that they were arriving by 10 am as the buildings parking is limited.
At 10am, I called the company wondering IF and WHEN they were going to show up as the window had expired.
I was told by a nice girl that she would have someone call me back with an ETA.
30 minutes later! a man called me back stating the truck was on its way. I told him it’s now 30 mins outside of the window and he blamed traffic. (of course– the catchall excuse)
They showed at approx 1045. A blonde man, who was the driver, told me that the boss was supposed to have called me at 930 am to let me know they were running late. I told him I received no call. He said traffic was bad– (really? Saturday morning?)
To make matters worse, the other man joked he was asleep when the blonde was yelling at him to get out of the truck. Very unprofessional.
I had given the chair away, so had the only TV, sofa and leather ottoman to be removed. The blonde man gives me an estimate of $ 125!
I told him I received a lower estimate online for more items.
He literally argued that the TV alone is $ 75. I told him sorry, no way. I picked these items from THEIR list on THEIR online pricing estimator. And you are late!!!
I was incredulous that after bring 45 minutes late out of the earliest possible pickup time, with fewer items, the estimate is higher!!!
Total Bait and switch! Beware!
When I told them forget it, the blonde man was rude and very unhappy to have not gotten the job. I basically showed them the door — the whole time time, he was running his mouth.
DO not use– bait and switch !!! Not on schedule with rude, unprofessional employees ! Go elsewhere!
