Payless Tobacco & Liquor

Went to payless tobacco today for the first time to check out their craft beer selection. It was awesome! They have a great variety… many to pick from. Besides from the beer selection the over all store is
very clean and welcoming. I gave them 5 stars because I had not one single complaint. Keep up the good work payless tobacco!

The evening guy is pushy and unfriendly. But the store is stocked. And the hours are cool. They have a walk in humidor and one of the employees is a PC repair guy. But the night dude will tell you what to buy. And unfriendly is being nice for him. Like he hates customers. I pay extra to go to armanettis up the street. Cook county but nicer people.

Found a gem in the rough. I was driving by the roselle area looking for a decent liquor store to buy a party’s worth of Alcohol, and saw this place in the Roselle plaza. I was really bummed that I didn’t know this place earlier because I live right right door in Medinah. Right as you walk in the door, I was warmly welcomed by the staff, encouraging me to oblige them with any requests they can assist me with. I have to be honest, this place is legit, they have trolley carts for «party shopping», and my buddy took complete advantage of their elegant walk-​in humidor to pick up a couple shorties and even he was impressed by their «spectrum of collection» of cigars. I also was really impressed by the cleanliness of the store and the clientele (so important). I also found some really rare craft beers. Anyway, I was able to pick up everything we needed for a family Halloween party then we were assisted by the energetic young man at the counter with our purchase.
The best part was I wanted to see how they would handle pressure, so I picked up something that I didn’t need and wanted it changed at the counter (no very kind of me but it was all in an effort to see how they would serve me) it was a walk in the park. They young man, asked me what I needed instead and he said he would get it for me, all with a smile. He then proceeded to get exactly what I needed and typically you would have to get it yourself but I was truly served.
Would recommend coming here because the service here is unique and seeing that the «regulars» walked in to their usual purchase ready at the counter was astounding. Why the need to write so much you ask? Simple cause it’s hard to find a store dedicated to true customer satisfaction and a store that has everything you need.
Will definitely be stopping back here and recommending Payless tobacco and liquor to friends and family.

This place has really gone down in service over the past 2 years, which is sad because it’s a prime and convenient location. The 2 employees that run the afternoon/​night shift are absolutely terrible. They are pushy idiots. I give this place way to many «last chances». However the final straw was a couple weeks ago. I came in to buy Margaritas and was harassed for a good 5 minutes to buy a bottle of tequila they had up at the counter and scratch off lotto. I can’t tell you how many times I said no. Business is definitely not the same there either-​people don’t want to deal with annoying morons running a store! I’ll pay the extra couple dollars and go to Armanetti.

I come here frequently for my cigarettes and I’ll say that I’ve never had any issues with this place. The owners are nice and friendly and if you come in enough they’ll know you by a name basis and also know what you want which is always great. The only time is get annoyed is when some one buys a lotto ticket and doesn’t move to the side so the people behind that person can continue on with their purchase and the rest of their day. Other than that, this place is local and friendly so 4 stars to them!
