My husband and I moved out about a few weeks ago so you know what that means: time to write an apartment review! I’ll be blunt: Springhill is not the prettiest property around, many of the apartments are still very basic, and they don’t have a fitness center(but there is a small pool). Yet, the apartments were just what we needed, the location is nice(walking distance to the train and close to downtown Roselle), and the price was perfect for us. It was also the only place we’ve lived in longer than a year. My husband and I originally came here looking for a studio apartment and found a pretty spacious studio on the third floor for $ 700/month The space was great. However, we had some issues with water seeping in the walls causing suspicious mold near the patio door frame and AC unit. We called to have it looked at a few times and all the contractor did was paint over it. The yellowing spots on the wall continued to appear. We asked to be transferred to a different unit, which Spinghill was flexible with. We transferred to a one-bedroom on the first floor of a different building and stayed there for a year. That apartment was much better. My only complaints about it are the small water heater(my showers were usually lukewarm) and the fact that some of the dryers in the laundry room consistently broke. Nothing we couldn’t deal with, though. Like I said, it’s not the fanciest place to live, but at the price we paid within that location, it was pretty damn good. The ladies in the office(Debbie & Donna) were very nice and accomodating, the maintainence crew got things done(most of the time), parking was never an issue(they also have a guest parking lot in the back of the property), and the neighboring residents ranged from single bachelors to familes with little children to the elderly — a great mix. If you’re looking for a good place with no frills, I recommend Springhill Apartments. If you need something a little bit nicer with more ameneties, go somewhere else. NOTE: Some of the apartments are actually privately-owned condos for rent, these spaces are usually a little bit nicer.
